  • It's not a Fender, but it really kind of is. It's a semi-hollow, Thinline, T style guitar with a nice traditional feel.

"GC new"! Great video, Mike! Panning over the guitar while playing and talking was a great idea and really well done. Agree with you about Pau Ferro. Of course most of the Fender/Squier Pau Ferro at my local guitar stores is crappy looking because it's dry as a desert.

I had the orange version of this guitar and I'm sorry I sold it. There are a lot of criticisms of the humbucker pickup, but I found that this guitar works best if you play with both pickups engaged simultaneously. Especially if you roll off the treble on the guitar and boost it on the amp, you get a lot of flexibility. Nice demo.

I have the Bluesboy without the F-hole. I changed the nut because it wasn't built properly, and I also changed the neck pickup for a Leosound (small german pickup builder, sound similar to a Seymour Duncan SH2, a bit more output) that I can now split with a push-pull tone poti. It's one hell of a guitar now.

    Nice looking guitar Mike.
Your playing really brought out the cool vibes today.
Thanks again for the insight and a cool video.

I really like G&L. I have a Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Bluesboy in Turquoise Mist (No F hole). i upgraded to a bone nut, Changed the neck p/u to a Seymour Duncan SH2 with a mini toggle in between the knobs to split and a Fralin blues special at the bridge. Fit and finish were better than the MIM Fenders I have purchased more recently. It's one of my favorite guitars.

I own four tributes, a Comanche, a Legacy, a Fallout, and a Fiorano. They are all phenomenal guitars for the money.
I am sure putting that Cort pick up next to the MFD, really magnified how mediocre the Cort pickup is. Those MFD pick ups really pack a punch and have a lot of flexibility to them.

Had an SC-2 in the '80s & have been trying to find it ever since selling it in a fit of poverty....

I have vague memories of having an SC-3 back in the mid to late 80's. Can't remember why I got rid of it for sure, but it's a pretty good bet that poverty had a lot to do with it. I do remember it being a fantastic guitar.
