Hey Jack! That humbucker has an extra lead. That means you can change the standard switch (3 way) to a five position switch and get great single coil sounds out of the humbucker.

Thanks for watching! Since making this video I have installed a pair of new Pickups... I choose the Seymour Duncan pickups, for this one.... Not too bad... Here is a video with the new pickups.... @@jackoshaw Seymour Duncan's pickups are really good in my opinion! But i think i prefer a Lollar Wide Range humbucker for the neck position 😉

A quick review of the G&L Tribute Blues Boy. The G&L is being played through a Vox AC30, using a slap back delay and Compressor. Recorded at the Ridge Studio, Hanna, Indiana, 1/29/2019....Update: I had this guitar about a week and recorded a song using the Humbucker Pickup.... I'm SOLD! ... Hi Jack. I have a new bluesboy too. What do you think about the humbucker on neck? I feel it "dark"...deaf. Not very bright

@@andreamarcato2558 Since this video, I have changed the neck pickup to a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickup.... Just a little better pickup than came with the guitar.... Sounds pretty nice...... At first, I thought the original pickup sounded kind of muddy.... I also changed the Bridge pickup to a Seymour Duncan....

@@andreamarcato2558 Thanks for the info! I've got a couple of guitars I installed Seymour Duncan Pickups on....They are a little different than the original OEM pickups. I like the quality... The Bluesboy ASAT tribute is a great guitar, whether you change the pickups or not.... Very nice for the price!

@@andreamarcato2558 The G&L Fullerton Bluesboy use to use the Seth Lover Seymour Duncan Pickup until March of 2016... Now G&L uses a A2S4248N Alnico II on their guitars.... I like the idea of the Seth Lover Seymour Duncans Good Pickups, for sure....

I actually like the option of the Humbucker. You should tell Guitar Center you want a cut of the sales commission :-)

Since I made this video, I have changed my opinion on the Humbucker.......In Fact, I just used this Guitar last night in the studio..... I was used to my Tele, and the Blues Boy is just a little different..... It is a great guitar for the money, no doubt.......

Just Published this new Video, this afternoon... Same Blues Boy Guitar with the Seymour Duncan Picks I have had in the guitar for a while.... The G&L has turned out to be a fine guitar, especially for the money..... The original pickups were no problem at all, Just wanted to change them out.... Idle Hands and an Idle Mind are the Devil's Workshop, I guess!...
