This is very helpful, thanks for making this! Now I can make sure all my worldstuffs are working properly on Quest! That tip about changing the Compression Format is huuuge! Thanks again!
Hey! over the past couple weeks I have started to learn blender in part/through your tutorials and I just wanna I say I really appreciate it. Ive always wanted to get into it but I kinda didnt really have a reason until the whole worldbuilding/VR chat stuff. But on that note, I'm a bit concerned about the health and sustainability of VRchat with the recent EAC stuff. Have you looked into or do you know how VRchat alternatives like NeosVR and ChilloutVR handle their world creation? Do you think it would be something similar? Not that I see myself really stopping or giving up on blender but might how other VRchat style games handle world creation is something maybe worth thinking about. Sorry for the paragraph, no need to give a full response or whatev. At the very least just wanted to give thanks for the great guides and starting pointers. Keep it real
world building is a lot of fun. I'm not really familiar with neos and chillout. I like vrchat and there isn't really a reason for me to go to those platforms.
even with the EAC, VRC is still the biggest hangout game there is out there for VR. As far as daily players on steam VRC is 10's of thousands ahead of the other two. I wouldnt worry about the "health" of vrc
Thanks from an amateur world creator, this clears up a lot. I was pretty unimpressed with the default compressed lightmaps for quest. Unrelated note: I've been struggling to get any kind quest compatible emission material working for avatars and worlds, do you know any way to do this?
Very detailed. Thanks for clearing a lot of this up! One dumb question because I'm new to everything about Unity, do you need to upload your world for PC only first and then re-upload for quest? Or do you compress for android and would they both upload at the same time?
theres an option in the vrchat plugin to upload at the same time, but last i checked it doesn't work half the time so its best just to upload manually. You don't have to upload to PC at all. You could make a quest only world if thats what you wanted
@@spookyghostboo I'm not making anything that stands out, nothing as well detailed as your worlds. However, there are things I'm adding that in my experience, run better on PC than quest but I do have quest only friends, so I was wondering if this tutorial was for quest only or if you upload pc first and then this tutorial. Love your work btw!
no. you can technically upload anything to each different version and the players will see the version that is on the platform they are playing. Only thing that might happen is things may come out of sync.

Thank you so much! Very helpful 🙂

basically i was just asking if you'd be up for chatting, i'd love to have your opinion on what makes a vrchat world popular!

i feel like emission should work fine on quest. as long as you are using a shader that is compatible with quest

hey I don't think my comment came through, must have been autofiltered from youtube, are you able to review your comments? :)
review comments? I can see comments. Whats up?
@@spookyghostboo sometimes if youtube think a comment is an advert it makes it invisible until you've confirmed it
