Thanks for posting the update. When I saw your original video I didn't think the change in wireless backhaul would make a measurable difference between 6 and 7. Though, $2300 can pull a lot of cat6 even in 'old construction'!
Hi a comprehensive speed and range test would be more beneficial Wired and wireless speed from main node and same at say 30 feet range Wired and wireless speed from sattelite which is connected via wired backhaul and then by wireless backhaul This would rather give better idea of how well it is performed Also how far sattelite are placed and howany walls in between them etc etc
and even further distance speed tests would be ideal... AFAIK, the 970 is truly of 'major benefit' solely to devices that have wifi 7, which few (currently) do, I think the newest iphones have wifi 7 (?) but FireTV stick/cubes (latest) only support 6e wifi. Hard wiring to the Gateway not possible in older 2-story home due to physical layout and historical building.
With a wired backhaul to the satellite, you should be getting your full ISP speed. I have the older version of this mesh system with a 1gig internet connection, wired backhaul to all my satellites and when I connect my computer via LAN to a satellite, I get same exact speed as the router sees directly from the modem - close to 1gig. The 50% drop in video tells me that you are using wireless backhaul, not wired as you stated.
Yes, I agree just bought the 3 pack of the white Orbi 970 rather have black but Best Buy only had it in white.😂 but I'm pulling in phenomenal speed on this and ready for fiber internet to come to my area since Spectrum only offers 1 gig download speed and roughly 43 mbps upload which is awful. My question I got if your able to answer is how does or will the fiber hook up to these new Orbi? I don't know too much about how all that works with the plug-ins and stuff.
@TheChanClanLife May I ask what your thoughts are on using a Cat 8 Ethernet cable to hook up to the modem instead of the Cat 6 that's included? For something so high priced I was curious about why there was only Cat 6 in the box.
Thanks for the update. Personally, as good as the wireless backhaul s getting, I will stick to my wireless backhaul. I firmly believe in the only devices that should be connected to wifi are mobile ones that you move around alit. For myself, currently I aom on wired backhaul with my mesh setup and I am hardwired at my desk with my laptop. My TV's security system, soundbars, and anything else that has an ethernet port, is hard wired. So only my mobile devices and tablets, streaming devices, smart lights and a few laptops are wireless.
Seeing a lot of pointless nonsense comments here but this video is great, thank you. This is exactly what I needed to know, as I was wondering if that extra 1000+ dollars I would be paying would make a dramatic difference. I can see clearly that it will !
What’s the point of this video? Wifi speed of the 970 is in the range of 3500 gigs, not even a hint to that in the video. My Xiaomi wifi 6 (not even 6e) runs twice as fast as this
Coming from a Wifi 5 platform, the Orbi wireless backhaul is a very important feature. Seeing how this performs on Wifi 6 and Wifi 7 products makes it clear that a Wifi 6 upgrade would not significantly enhance performance on a satelite link vs the Wifi 5 platform, but the Wifi 7 units would provide a large uplift. There are other videos for raw speed output and theoretical max throughputs.

Never stated I am using a wired backhaul this is a comparison of wireless backhauls

Thank you for showing something and not being a click bait video show a unboxing and nothing else

Same way as cable the fiber modem has an Ethernet port that goes into the routers Ethernet
@@TheChanClanLife Thanks for the quick reply. Have a great day!

Is that wired?@@denniscraft7364
Must be nice

Is that the best iInternet you get
It would look this way based on the previous video. Are you ready for Dragon Ball Magic?
@@karlsenior1030 no it looks like he only has a gig Internet and that’s not that much Internet to me. I have five gig Internet.
Hey. What I meant was it probably is the best for the area where he resides. Apologies for not making that clear in my response.@@denniscraft7364
@@denniscraft7364damn, where are you located that offers 5 gigs? I am only offered 1 gig in my area.
mine is 8 inches long
