Dinosaur Jr. just has all kinds of crazy elements that somehow work... Hippy dippy guitar that turns into raging disaster solos that somehow make any song great, punk rock power drumming, bass that sounds like sludge, and vocals that sound like someone in pain. Ladies and gentlemen, you will never see a band more out there than Dinosaur Jr. There will never be a band like this ever again. Long live the Dinosaur.
I wish I was a teenage girl back in the mid 90's, and being there to see the beauty of J Mascis playing that beautiful fender. Amazing color, amazing sound, amazing song, amazing band. The sad reality is that i'm an ugly man in this ugly decade, when the beauty in music is just a remain.
"you dont live there anyway, but i knock on it all day", i always loved that line... and J's solos are so satisfyingly blistering they give me a buzz...
in a perfect world, bands today would have the same integrity as dinosaur and that generation of indie rock.a huge sigh for the days when dinosaurs ruled the earth, :)
This sounds so much better live here than on the recording. Saw the vid years ago on a late night mtv and loved it but missed the track name, forgot about it then found it on youtube recently- havent stopped listening to it since. Amazing song blows me away to DJ land where all is good
@CommanderC00L558 I'm actually in Detroit. But Bob wasn't coming to Detroit during the District Line tour. So, I decided to do a three-day roadtrip and see him in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Cleveland. It was early March 2008 and I don't know if you remember, but there was a major blizzard that buried the city. So I ended up driving through a couple feet of snow to get to the Grog Shop and join the other ~20 idiots who made it to the show...... great times
wish there was more footage from this gig. I know Feel the Pain and Never Bought it is on youtube, but was wondering if there are more from this. The sound is way better than the bizarre festival 97 footage.
I agree with you that many arguments on TH-cam are idiotic. However, I'm getting fed up of these "shut up and enjoy the music" comments. The comments section is there for people to voice their opinions, just as you have yours. It's not like negative comments impede your enjoyment of the video or anything. If you don't like someone's point of view, ignore it or engage with it, don't tell people to not voice their opinion.
I was there too it was the year after Nirvana played, so it was 93. In 92 I went for one day to see Nirvana. 93 I went for all 3 and this was my favourite gig of the lot. I surfed 3 times from back to front!

I've seen them live several times. All I can say is that those Marshall stacks are loud as fuck, louder than the other 100s of shows I've been to.
Dino Jr is one of the most overlooked bands EVER!!! I would've loved to have seen them in the day =(
My first time at Reading (this was August 1997) and first seeing DJ! Great memories
Fucking fantastic performance of a fucking fantastic song.
The feeling, the power, the sound defines my past, present and future. Few bands have the ability to that, but Dinosaur Jr is one of them.

they played Reading in 94'
great show, but I remember it being darker(later)..

Qué gran canción. También la tocaron en el Primavera Sound, Barcelona, 2008.
J Mascis is the coolest person alive

Oh also, George Berz wasn't with Dinosaur until 94'. Murph was kicked out before the recording of Without a Sound and replaced by George.
@CommanderC00L558 the grog shop?? I saw bob mould there a few years ago ... great show. it must have been friggin incredible to see DJ there!
great fucking song. I recently got the original pressing of this on vinyl. brings back some serious mems
