    The last of the "W-platform" Impalas were great at cruising the highways. Get on the interstate, set the cruise at 85 mph and you'll be pleasantly surprised how nicely it drives and how low the RPMs are. The 3.6 VVT DI V6 made 300 hp and got great fuel economy from the 6 speed auto. 19 cubic ft trunk.
    One of your Cadillac collectors should buy it and use it to keep the miles off their Cadillacs that might actually be worth some money.
    If I had a long commute and wanted to be comfortable I'd buy this car in a heartbeat.

    I had two Impalas in that body style, a 2007 LTZ trim with the then biggest engine available, a 3.9 liter V-6 with 200HP, and a 2009 SS with the 303HP 5.3 liter V-8. It was one of my favorite cars. The 3.6 in that Impala is rated at 300 HP. They’re very reliable vehicles.
    The LT is the mid level trim. LS is pretty stripped, LT has the extras you pointed out, and the LTZ is the top of the line.

    Actually very fond of Impalas. My parents had them when I was growing up and I have owned a few myself. Good, solid, comfortable, and reliable transportation.

  • @jsciarri
    @jsciarri 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    My mother had a 2009 Impala LS that was bought brand new and finally sold last year with only 55k miles. It was a solid reliable car and never had any issues for the entire 11 years we had it. This generation Impala was actually the very last car you could buy here in the states that could be ordered with a bench seat and column shifter.

    I had my 2012 since 2014 it was my first car and I still got it. These things are sleepers! This one should have the 3.6 vvt motor and man these thangs can be juggernauts! If you just keep up with the basics of this car it can last you a life time. I would rather have this for a first car then one of them Honda’s!!!

    They ran that body style until 2016 even after the newer body style came out. It was called a Chevy impala Limited. I believe it was for fleet sales only 2014 to 2016

    Decent car, I was a business traveler for 7 years and drove a bunch of these as rentals. I prefer the LTZ trim as it usually had the leather interior, a sunroof and 18" wheels which looked pretty sharp on the car. The LT was the mid level trim while the LS was the base. Great car for cruising the highway, they were comfortable and had plenty of power.

    That's a very nice Impala. Looks much better than my 2002 Malibu. While I'm still saving for one of your beautiful classics, if i were in need of a decent looking, reliable car today, I wouldn't hesitate on this one. Thank goodness, at present, with routine regular maintenance, my Malibu with 134,000 miles is as problem free as one could expect, and everything still works. I'm very happy that you take the time to offer reasonably priced reliable transportation. I've followed your channel since the beginning...your honesty and devotion to your work is clearly visible. Someone on a budget will surely enjoy this Impala. I surely would. Best regards to Papa Bear, keep up the terrific work!

    My mom ordered a brand-new 1968 Impala through GM international while in Germany (my dad was in the army.) We weren't allowed to wear shoes in it; she put the shoes in the trunk. She gave me that car in 2004 before she passed away in 2005. I put the third set of tires on it then. It has only 62k on it!

      Amazing is the right word. I couldn't imagine a more bland car (well, I guess I could, but still...). The Impala was pretty awful in the '80s, and after that GM tried all kinds of things with it, none very attractive, and finally arrived at that iteration. It probably drives nice, as many here have said, but so does a VW Golf, I suspect.

    The car doesn't have a split bench front seat. The last year they produced a split bench front seat was 2012 in the LT model. When this body design was introduced in 2006, you could get a bench in the LS and LT models until 2008 when only the LT model was designated to have the 200.00 option and you would loose some of the options that would come with a bucket seat model. The engines they had for this car was a 3.6 and a 3.9, you chose the engine with the LT and LTZ. The SS model had the 3.9 supercharged and all leather in every spot you can think of. You could also have a Bose radio with the LT and up models. I do believe that the rear seat can fold down or has the pass-thru in the armrest in the backseat. Yes I do see a lot of these cars around, I have seen where people buy or leased them and there were hundreds of them available for resale by the following year. I'm not sure if it was because the car usually is so plastic or if after a while they wanted something more powerful or flashy.

      @@specialtymotorcars When I can only use bench seats or have an armrest that provides enough room to hold steering wheel, I need to know which cars are more accommodating for needs.

    I had a 2011 Buick Lucerne I bought brand new and I am pretty sure it had the same gauge cluster as this car except I am pretty sure the needles weren't red in the Buick. I hated that car! It was such a poor replacement for my '05 Park Avenue I ended up trading it after 10 months. Interesting side note, the '13 Impala was the last sedan as far as I know that offered a split front bench seat.
