The crescendo truly is chaos. Everyone has these ongoing stories that have been running in the family background for years: sowing a growing dread and fear over Bruno that didn't need to be there. By focusing on him and not on the actual problems he was trying to warn them of (effectively 'shooting the messenger') they complicate any way that they might have addressed the *actual* issues: the lack of communication and authenticity that would lead to the breaking of the house itself.
When Isabela makes her first entrance during the “ Familia” number, it’s like a combination of “ THERE’S the Disney Princess” and “ one in every family “. 😆 And then they cut to Mirabel’s face. 🤣🤣🤣
Representation matters and I love how Disney showed the dynamics of a Hispanic/Latine family. Our stories matter and I can’t wait for future projects on different stories 💖 great video!
I know you mean well, but this is a Colombian representation, Latin America is too diverse to make that statement. Here in the south of Latin America the culture is different from that of the north and the Caribbean.
Something I took a while to work out is that the final verse with all of them singing represents Mirabel reviewing everything they told her about Bruno. Its her mind going over it all, as she wishes she hasn't brought him up at all.
The end reminds me a looot of the ending in Non-Stop (Hamilton, min 5:32 of that song :B) with all the character's frases (leitmotiv), so fun! Lil Manuel Miranda is such a great artist... like, I'm still super obsessed with You're Welcome (Moana) and now this? :)
It also reminds me of 96,000 from In the Heights (btw that type of song is called a Madrigal, and it’s ironic Bc that’s the last name of the family in Encanto)
