I really like Camilo's verse that "Seven-foot frame" he threw is still stuck in my mind. fun fact: if you see closely in the official video in dolores' part you can see bruno is actually walking behind them
Seven foot frame RATS upon his back and when he calls your name, IT ALL fades to Black..⚫ I love this verse too! My daughter and I know this whole song by heart and she sings this part so well as we dance around the kitchen lol.
One of the most Latino things I heard in the whole movie was their little exchange " 'You tellin' this story or am I???' 'I'm sorry, mi vida (meaning my life/aka my dearest), go on..." As a Mexican (I'm not here to represent all Mexicans, just here to share,) we love telling a good story, and we HATE getting interrupted, even by somebody who was there too and just wants to give their perspective. Usually the interruptor is so excited that they can't hold back, but the original speaker gets annoyed at them. Luckily, Felix and Pepa love each other dearly and she was just as quick to forgive his excitement as he was to apologize for cutting in without amplifying her message.

One detail i absolutely love is in Camilo's verse. In his beginning line "7" is sung in Camilo's voice, "foot frame" is sung in Bruno's voice and it continues through his verse as he shape shifts between himself and Tio Bruno! Its easy to miss because the voices are similar, but i noticed Bruno's voice is more scratchy and camilos is smoother. A much appreciated detail imo

I was the only person in my family to notice it first time, when we were in the cinemas. His head bop creeped me out, coz i wasn't expecting it, i got goosebumps😂

this movie is quickly becoming my favorite disney movie ever? the music is phenomenal and the messages in the movies are so relatable and important to hear as well as exciting and likable characters!
I just love the art where they all sing and they are setting the tsble. I think the plate clings but y hip h by setting the dishes down with a clink ! Such a charming scene and then they continue with the multi-lines singing as they dance around the table with the broken prophecy!
Danielle Marie: is there a name for the multi-line singing. I think of it as a Gilbert and Sullivan thing but I understand it's a Hamilton thing too. Another music reactor (wiith some music training) said that that kind of multii-line cross singing is called a "Madrigal" - have you ever heard of this? I know, of course, of the song type "Madrigals" and I can see how the names might have evolved from that music form but I haven't been able to track down the name online. Just curious! Those scenes with cross-singing characters are almost always my favorite in any musical theater production (or opera! ) that I see! Thx
I love how all the overlapping was happening at the end when Mirabel was piecing together the shards like a puzzle, hence, the chaos, and the moment she completes the puzzle, everyone’s voices unite into the “We don’t talk about Bruno” line because she solved it and everything is clear and everything makes sense. Such mastery of symbolism and storytelling.
Dolores is my favorite because of the little things about her character that would go relatively unnoticed. Since she hears so much at one time its given her sensory overload causing her to whisper and with her hearing so much she has to rely the information at a fast pace causing her to talk fast at all times. If there is a lot of nose you can also she Dolores cover her ears because it hurts her sensitive ears. The reason she doesn't know everything like she should is because everyones room is tailored to their powers so Dolores's room is covered with sound proofing allowing her to sleep at night but bruno's secret door is right beside her room and that's why she can hear him all the time. The part where Dolores sings to Mirabel you can actually see Bruno sneaking around on the second floor which is why a little later in the song Dolores says "I can hear him now". I love little details like this, it just shows the level of care Disney puts in there movies.
I adore Dolores's sections in the song. She has an incredible sound and the variations of style that she uses in such a short time is flawless. Notice something in the part where she's 'rapping' to Mirabel, Bruno is walking along the terrace behind them and then he's watching them and starts to bob his head to the beat right at her last note before it goes to the next shape-shifter guy.
@@glibbergloop It's Bruno. He's hiding and lurking in the casita. Dolores even says that she can still/always hear him so it seems like he's around her or nearby enough. They wouldn't include an Easter Egg like that to be just Camilo. It has to have meaning.
@@glibbergloop Camilo wouldn't be hiding in the background; it's contrary to his personality. He'd be more likely to pop up in the middle of Delores' verse trying to scare Mirabel.
So in the final bit most of them are just each character repeating their verse but Isabella's actually changes slightly- in her final lines she sings "I'm fine, I am fine." I'm not smart but Im pretty sure it's to foreshadow Isabella admitting she doesn't actually want to marry Mariano. Mirabel was pretending to be fine at Antonio's party and Isa is pretending she's happy with her role as "golden child" EDIT: so I listened back a few times and as best I can tell Isa's final verse goes like this; He told me that the life of my dreams Would be promised and someday be mine He told me that my power would grow Like grapes that thrive on the vine, I'm fine He told me that the life of my dreams Would be promised and someday be mine And I'm fine And I'm fine And I'm fine I am fine *He's here!*
I also love how at the end when all of the parts are combined, Dolores’s verse shifts to “and I’m fine, and I’m fine, and I’m fine fine fine”, and on “I’m fine fine fine” Isabela joins in with Dolores. Such a great detail that is often missed.
i love camilos (shapeshifter) slight change when he sings "sees your dreams and feasts on your screams" for the last time he changes the pitch and rhythm
You spoke about Hamilton and the writer a few times; it would be interesting to have a reviews of that play and his other works, if you haven’t already. Food for thought. Great video, encanto is awesome!!!

He writes like he is writing for a musical, where a lot of the story-telling is done through song, and layered (or stacked as you put it). He is really just a musical genius, and one of the best things to happen to Disney in a long time.
She says “How does it fit together so perfectly?!?” in reference to the super-harmony right after “time for dinner”, and I realize in that chorus Maribel is putting a literal puzzle together. Didn’t notice that until now! So many layers of brilliant in this song!!!

camilo’s part is so underrated literally just heard this song yesterday while watching it and his part was my favorite along with dolores i love how she was whispering due to her being sensitive to loud noise since she can hear everything i love it

I saw from another creator that a madrigal is a vocal composition in music with many voices which are given space to be heard because they're all as important as each other. Just like this family, the Madrigals =) It doesn't seem like a coincidence!
I've heard it said that artists are scientists; the difference lies in how scientists study the tangible mysteries of our universe and artists study the intangible. A biologist searches for the ingredients and biochemical formula that will cure a bodily illness, and a musician searches for the musical sounds and formula that will prompt a specific emotional response. Lin Manuel Miranda is def the musical scientist that found the musical formula for joy! I think everyone loves this song the first time they listen to it lol! Each singers' part just heightens the energy and fun, it never drops. That's hard; to keep one-upping your track with each verse! I totally agree with you, Danielle, about how his work encourages re-listens for new discoveries. He really pulled out all the stops with this film to give each character depth through their songs.
Those were pizzicato strings under Isabella's section. (A great example of pizzicato is Leroy Anderson's 'Plink Plank Plunk'.) Overlapping melody lines have a long history. Gilbert and Sullivan often included double choruses in their operettas: two groups singing different melodies separately which then blend perfectly when sung together. 'When the foeman bares his steel/Go, ye heroes!' from 'The Pirates of Penzance' is a perfect example. Lin-Manuel Miranda, however, takes it to the next level, with at least four melodies overlapping.
I love your enthusiasm! I've heard this song at least 50 times with my kids and we all sing the parts. Watching you, brought the goosebumps right back! Isn't this song amazing? Now try getting it out of your head.

Felix, the man in the couple. Hes SUCH a good voice! The way he ends his verses! the go onnnnn~ AHH I just love this movie so so much! Also FUN FACT! In Dolores' verse the footsteps and swooshes are amplified, as if getting a taste of her gift. I think it's in all on the verses, Camilo is shapeshifting, the rain in Pepas' part! but I'm not sure!
Danielle, I would love to hear your views about the "Sunday" sequence in the recent Lin Manuel Miranda project on Netflix, Tik Tik Boom. It gave me goosebumps, since it was inspired by Stephen Sondheim and seeing some iconic faces from Broadway really made me appreciate the song more.
Chills multiple times here! Especially with the shooshing and then the sound of feet pattering. And then the mashup of all the elements when they are setting the table!

Fun fact: the form of music, where multiple singers sing at the same time is called a "madrigal". You can see where the family name, in the movie, comes from, or vice versa xD
7:15 She sings "I can hear him now". Not sure if you already know now but Dolores has amazing hearing capabilities and she literally is telling the viewer and her family that she can hear Bruno in the walls where he lives. And NOONE listens to her :DD I didnt get it either when I first watched the movie :D

I will forever watch you based off this video. You called everything out I did. You actually explained your feelings unlike some I’ve seen so far. You appreciate the nuances in the tone of the music. The Madrigals doing "The Madrigal!" 😊 Lin Manuel really is a legend with his songwriting. It really does resembles with the songs in Hamilton and somehow I thought I heard Angelica Schuyler singing the background too 😅 so Epic! Gives me chills... everytime!
5:50 I’ve watched many reaction videos for this song and you’re the first person to notice Mirabel’s face! It’s so funny! Awesome reaction, I loved how into the song you got. Thank you! 👏😃
2:11 Fun fact about Bruno's name: It was originally going to be Oscar, but Lin-Manuel Miranda changed it to Bruno just so he could make the lyrics "Bruno, no, no, no!" Also, "We don't talk about Bruno... We SING about Bruno!"
It would be nice if you listened to the end bit a little more to hear each of what everyone is saying, some of the pitches and a few of the words change from when they sang before. Dolores and Isabella start saying "I'm fine, it's fine" and stuff then Camilo kinda raises his voice a tiny bit higher during the last "he sees your dreams, he feasts on your screams" it's all pretty cool honestly
at the end you can focus on Isabella singing, and you can hear her repeating the words "Im fine." with a stressed look on her face. a brief foreshadowing to her internal struggle that is shown later.
I think the last part where all of the characters' parts are mixed is probably representing Mirabel's mind as she listens to them talking about Bruno. You will notice that the part is also played while Mirabel is making the glass pieces come together while the singers are singing at the same time, all voices coming together. Typical Lin-Manuel music. My opinion btw
This is absolutely the best Disney song to come out in the last 10 years at least. I just can’t get enough of it, especially when everyone is singing after Mirabel starts saying she needs to know about Bruno, chills every time. This movie is just phenomenal. Ratatouille is my favourite Disney movie but this is becoming a close second. The composer of this song deserves so much praise for their work.
she says, 'it's like i hear him now, i can hear him now' because mariano was on his way. later in the movie it is revealed that dolores has feelings for him, and that she can hear mariano making his way there. this being before camilo says, 'isabela, your boyfriend's here'

Some have theorized that it's Camilo bopping in the background
@@glibbergloop It's Bruno. He's hiding and lurking in the casita. Dolores even says that she can still/always hear him so it seems like he's around her or nearby enough. They wouldn't include an Easter Egg like that to be just Camilo. It has to have meaning.
@@Snarkerella omg
@@glibbergloop Camilo wouldn't be hiding in the background; it's contrary to his personality. He'd be more likely to pop up in the middle of Delores' verse trying to scare Mirabel.
So in the final bit most of them are just each character repeating their verse but Isabella's actually changes slightly- in her final lines she sings "I'm fine, I am fine." I'm not smart but Im pretty sure it's to foreshadow Isabella admitting she doesn't actually want to marry Mariano. Mirabel was pretending to be fine at Antonio's party and Isa is pretending she's happy with her role as "golden child"
EDIT: so I listened back a few times and as best I can tell Isa's final verse goes like this;
He told me that the life of my dreams
Would be promised and someday be mine
He told me that my power would grow
Like grapes that thrive on the vine, I'm fine
He told me that the life of my dreams
Would be promised and someday be mine
And I'm fine
And I'm fine
And I'm fine
I am fine
*He's here!*
I love Felix’s harmonic minor part! that harmony literally gives me chills
I also love how at the end when all of the parts are combined, Dolores’s verse shifts to “and I’m fine, and I’m fine, and I’m fine fine fine”, and on “I’m fine fine fine” Isabela joins in with Dolores. Such a great detail that is often missed.
i love camilos (shapeshifter) slight change when he sings "sees your dreams and feasts on your screams" for the last time
he changes the pitch and rhythm
Usually people don't say anything about the dances, as a Colombian how beautiful and detailed they are amazes me every time.
Música y ritmos de Colombia,la tierra del encanto y del realismo mágico.

Diria que es mas musica cubana, solo la parte donde isabella y dolores suena algo colombiano por la guitarra, lo demas suena mas como sonidos cubanos
Dolores’ verse gives me chills every time her voice being soft next to every other part is just- oh my lord, it’s beautiful
Polyphony is always such a mysterious thing, how it is possible to fit all those verses in the harmony
You spoke about Hamilton and the writer a few times; it would be interesting to have a reviews of that play and his other works, if you haven’t already. Food for thought. Great video, encanto is awesome!!!
I think the word you are looking for about Lin's compositions is they are so "conversational!" Enjoy this so much! Can't stop singing it with my kids! #subscriptionsquad
@1:59 when he sings, "I'm sorry mi vida go on..." Is my favorite part of that whole song 😍😍😍
Can we talk about how freaking amazing the animation is!!Like the dance moves😳😳🙌🏻🔥it feels like we are watching live people dancing or something!!I didn’t even watch the movie and still I’m getting all the vibes from this amazing song video!!
Plus: Yess hats off to the singers!
They don't give those MacArthur genius grants to just anybody!
Meu inglês é ruim, mas só queria dizer que adorei esse react. É o melhor que já vi. A música é contagiante e bem divertida e sua reação e análise foram incríveis! Parabéns!

Brought to you by Google Translate.
I agree
camilo’s part is so underrated literally just heard this song yesterday while watching it and his part was my favorite along with dolores i love how she was whispering due to her being sensitive to loud noise since she can hear everything i love it
camilo's part is *definitely* not underrated, it's the only part anyone talks about
yeah like before i watched the movie everyone kept talking about camilo and showing clips of him singing that i kept thinking he was going to be the main character 🧍
its not underrated at all but it still is my fav part of the song
"Underrated"
Wow! What a burst of sunshine you are! Hahaha I absolutely loved your reaction and commentary. It's like I got to experience it for the first time again...even though it's well in the 1000s with its being everywhere! Hahah. Definitely subscribing. Cheers! What a pleasure to "meet" you.
Thank you so much!
The harmonies full of character with the different voices blending! Just so beautiful and really making everyone get chills at the sound. Pure joy!
you can hear isabella in the end of the song repeating "im fine" which is such a nice touch for her character arch
Those were pizzicato strings under Isabella's section. (A great example of pizzicato is Leroy Anderson's 'Plink Plank Plunk'.)
Overlapping melody lines have a long history.
I love how each part was written so it would all fit together in the end
9:35 SO true, it’s insane how well he writes…
5:56 and yes, they're strings, pizzicato violin and it's *SO* good omg
Omg, would love to see you react to Surface Pressure and What Else Can I do!! They're just as enjoyable as this song!
You radiate glee and elegance! Love this video, and your vibes :) You seem very knowledgeable and humble. Bless 💛🐞
She made me understand why I like Isabella's part. I didn't realize the strings to me it feels nostalgic. She earns my subscription
I love how Mirabel responds to the vibes of each song and story it is great to see her getting into it.
Aren't we gonna talk about that "when he calls yOUr name..." 4:22 THE WAY CAMILO SAYS "YOUR" OH GOD
i hope youve changed your ways
Just came across your account and it makes me smile watching your natural reactions to amazing music! Thanks for everything I look forward to your videos! #subscribed
I love how the last clip could represent all the chaos going on, all of them sorrounding her singing at the same time, or could be that their words are spining on her head
excellent song message about family and humanity. Excellent Movie about Colombia 🇨🇴 tanks for you reaction
6:53 my mind went "you're gonna love the next part then"
Bruno is in the back during Dolores part just vibing to his nieces. Mans literally the most supportive uncle you could wish for.
Great reaction. These are fun to watch but how you actually are breaking down the structure of the voices is both entertaining and informative.
Ooo! That sounds amazing!
It was fantastic. I loved that sequence. It reminded me subtly of The Vie Boheme from Rent.
Chills multiple times here! Especially with the shooshing and then the sound of feet pattering. And then the mashup of all the elements when they are setting the table!
I love this song, especially Camillo's part. Also guess who has a new song coming out? Sabrina Carpenter it's called fast times, I'll let you know when it comes out. Love your videos
This is my favorite reaction video to We Don't Talk About Bruno! Your reactions are so genuine and authentic that I'm getting chills from listening to the song, and I've heard this song on repeat for at least an hour!
OMG PLSSS SIT DOWN AND WATCH ENCANTO! This is the first video I’ve seen of yours, and I loved every second of it! I loved how gleeful you got at all the little things in the song, and I’d love to see you watch the whole movie!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
The excitement in her eyes when she saw isabela swing down ❤❤❤ love it
I wanna see more reactions to the music from this movie or a movie reaction. I love your personality and made this so enjoyable.
Fun fact: the form of music, where multiple singers sing at the same time is called a "madrigal". You can see where the family name, in the movie, comes from, or vice versa xD
I love your reactions and how you're able to recreate the various vocals immediately upon hearing them.
As someone who sang as a hobby all my life but without vocal lessons, I love the harmonies in it!! I never could figure my fav part as all of it is amazing!
Such a great reaction! Thanks!
I will forever watch you based off this video. You called everything out I did. You actually explained your feelings unlike some I’ve seen so far. You appreciate the nuances in the tone of the music. When you sang the parts that resonated with you, I heard the passion. It was awesome. Can’t wait to watch more.
Fun fact, at around 8:30, Isabela sings something new. If you listen closely, you can hear her singing “I’m Fine” x3)
this is the first time watching a react to singing video and I really enjoyed it. I’ve seen this movie a 100 times and watching this and your reactions gave me chills all over again. The music in this movie is amazing! And I loved seeing you vibe to it.
When you listen to the song while wearing headphones you can hear some really awesome panning.
Omg, I usually don’t even give reaction videos the time of day, but your energy kept me engaged the entire time! New subbie here!
All I can hear at the ending overlap is "SEVEN FOOT FRAME, RATS ALONG HIS BACK" I swear that verse will NOT leave my head no matter what 😂😭
Excellent analysis !!! it is great specially for those of us who don't know about music. As a colombian I'm more than happy with this songs showing our culture with authenticity and care.
The Madrigals doing "The Madrigal!" 😊 Lin Manuel really is a legend with his songwriting. It really does resembles with the songs in Hamilton and somehow I thought I heard Angelica Schuyler singing the background too 😅 so Epic! Gives me chills... everytime!
It was very enjoyable watching you smile and enjoy so much.
Very nice and sweet reaction video. Cheers from Spain!
They just did everything right in this song 🎵
Lin Manuel Miranda has such a distinct style that it’s just impossible to unhear it. So much layers in music, vocals, lyrics…
*Colombia is called the Country of 1000 Rhythms, because it has 1,025.* Very rich musical culture.
I loved your reaction!! I get chills every time the Madrigal starts!
5:50
I’ve watched many reaction videos for this song and you’re the first person to notice Mirabel’s face! It’s so funny!
Awesome reaction, I loved how into the song you got.
Thank you! 👏😃

ive been watching a bunch of random reactions to this song and yours is my fav by far i love how excited you get :D your smile is so contagious
2:11 Fun fact about Bruno's name: It was originally going to be Oscar, but Lin-Manuel Miranda changed it to Bruno just so he could make the lyrics "Bruno, no, no, no!"
Also, "We don't talk about Bruno... We SING about Bruno!"
Everyday I come here to check the views..
You almost hit 1m!! I'm so excited!
Congrats Danielle! :D
Lin Manuel has that knack for vibing music. And the film was entertaining! Great Reaction Danielle! Peace and Love everyone - Ryno
I also loved the way when Maribel says “give me the truth and the whole truth Bruno.. to…Isabella your boyfriends here” just gives me chills
I love that eye shadow. It looks so good with your features.
at the end you can focus on Isabella singing, and you can hear her repeating the words "Im fine." with a stressed look on her face. a brief foreshadowing to her internal struggle that is shown later.
I have discovered so many great channels from looking for Encanto reactions, and I just love your whole vibe throughout this video.
Dolores is saying “i can hear him now” in that overlay. It’s a subtle clue that Bruno is around and she can literally hear him haha
she says, 'it's like i hear him now, i can hear him now' because mariano was on his way. later in the movie it is revealed that dolores has feelings for him, and that she can hear mariano making his way there. this being before camilo says, 'isabela, your boyfriend's here'
