This gentleman is superior taking old destroyed TVs and restoring them like new. If he every finds a Panasonic TR-195MB black and white monitor, I'd love to see it get restored. I used to own one of those and would love another one.

There is a sticker on the broken cathode ray tube that is exactly the same sticker with the same unique stain on it as the replacement tube, and pretending to use a DVM (digital volt meter) to measure random continuity is just f***ING lame, get a life instead of scamming.

Witam..Podziwiam samozaparcie przy tego typu naprawach,dużą wiedza zawsze pomaga,pod warunkiem że wiemy co robimy?Niestety elektronika jest czuła na wilgoć,wodę i zanieczyszczenia,nigdy niemyjemy kineskopu wogole,a już nie kranowa,źle rozumowanie,brak podejścia rozumowania w stosunku do samego kineskopu,jeśli już to tylko woda dejonizowana bez chemii,lub izopropanolu,dotyczy to także płyty i innych elementów,resztę jak obudowę można umyć,elektrolity jak i powielacz to bardzo czułe elementy,najpierw pomysł potem rób!udanych napraw.

Fake...!!! Soy técnico electrónico. Un tv bajo la intemperie,nunca volvería a funcionar igual,con componentes como flyback,impreso de la placa,sintonizador,microprocesador etc etc.Habria que gastar una enormidad de dinero para reemplazar varios componentes.
Eso si es tener habilidad felicidadeshaces un buen trabajo

Defiantly filmed backwards on this one. There's like a 5% chance of finding a new crt tv tube for a old tv now a days
Check the antenna plug area if you continue not getting a station signal maybe broke off and need solder back on or corrosion or dirt.

long as you don't wait too long after taking it apart and smearing mud on putting it in a ditch just rinse it off dry it and put it back like it was restoration is easy work with anything long as it was in good condition and working before you take it a part

Once all of those components are washed, they are completely finished. And when he tests continuity he is actually testing resistance which will almost always cause the meter to respond. Thats what makes these restorations so false. Good entertainment though.

Dá pra ver que é o mesmo tubo no início e fim do vídeo, e as peças eletrônicas estão com poeira no fim da montagem. Então, ele pega a tv funcionando, desmonta ela toda, finge que testa os componentes, remonta filmando e ligando a tv, depois desmonta de novo, enche de lama e finge que encontrou assim..

What sucks to replace the picture tube it costs the price of buying a new TV if you can't get it at repairman cost.
CRT wasn't replaced, it's the same CRT from beginning to end, or more accurately, end to beginning. The TV was torn apart, made artificially dirty and re-assembled after cleaning to show it worked. The CRT was then smashed and the whole thing thrown in a lake. You can see the CRT label at 3:56 and again at 14:38, they're 100% identical. Same part number and same stain on the label.
Both a shame it was destroyed, and dangerous. CRTs haven't been made in well over a decade and are steadily dwindling, and dangerous it was dumped with the CRT shattered because the glass has lead, boron and other heavy metals in it designed to stop the xray radiation in operation. It'll leach into the environment.
I spotted the same label with stain I am glad there are more observant people like you watching this and caught out this scammer
They opened the dumped TV and didnt bother to take the copper yoke .... 15KV insulation parts ok after being under water.
Something's bad in the vertical hold area plus need cable or satellite box or free TV adapter to get any stations since they screwed up the television reception format.

Look how is the sticker on the tube at 4"51: there is a brown mark on it. And the "new" tube installed at the end has also the same mark on the sticker (watch at 14"44).
The video is reversed, the tv was in good condition and he destroyed it.

and how an electronic equipment will work after being plunged in the water for a long period of time ? all the PCB had to gain rust, the components being deteriorated, and so many other issues. this equipments seems to be too much cleaned. then, removing the dust with water again ? bahh! that's the first sign that this is fake!

In fact it is not impossible, I already repaired an Apple 2 computer screen and a Sony Trinitron tv which were into water and mud during a quite long time. So it is not impossible, of course it is a very long work and you need to spend days and days checking all testable parts, proceed to replacement of bad parts, before giving a try.
But the repair of this video is fake, you can see that the broken tube of the start is the replacement tube of the end.
And anyway it is near impossible to find a replacement tube that fits perfectly in replacement of a dead one.

The rust doesn't affect too much the electric parts, the ic and most of electronic components support quite well water (of course if they are not powered at the same time!). Anyway you have to check the most you can (especially ic with ic tester, capacitors, diodes, transistors) and replace what is bad before trying to power on. It is not at all the tests seen on this video.
The parts that rust quickly are the potentiometers, if they are rusted their resistance value is false and they can't be adjusted anymore, so needs to be replaced.
Picture tube if available is probably cheap to buy since they are now flat screen.
Every replacement Panasonic CRT comes with an identical brown stain on the SKU label too. It's amazing.

What do you expect to see using those probes? Without a working circuit diagram how would you know what to look for.. Continuity isn’t the only thing to look out for.. I wouldn’t wanna power that up after soaking the line output transformer.. Extremely HIGH voltage is produced there.. And like it’s already been mentioned.. Water & electricity are certainly not the best of pals
That's when you don't power it up until the water is blown dry out of it. Good chance he's testing for shorts and if the parts are working there proper voltage.
not all electronics will destroy by water,because my solar inverter still working properly...almost 2 days under the flood water cause by typhoon..
