Grew up with a mum with a mum with BP who would threaten suicide with me running after her terrified from tiny first time I remember I was around 5. She eventually asked me to if I come with her when she ended herself ( started around age 7). I ended up with BPD and whole bunch of other stuff.
I'm truly touched that you've shared such a personal and challenging experience. Growing up with a parent who struggles with BP can be incredibly difficult, and I'm sorry you had to endure that. I hope you find healing and support. ❤️
My mom felt ignored as a child so she wants to constantly criticize and control everything we do. So this is why neither me nor my sisters want children of our own. We’ve already had to deal with the erratic behavior and immaturity of a child.
Thank you for saying that BPD parents can be OK. I fell somewhere on between. My adult daughter have reached a good place. My worst behavior (three specific times) were caused by triggers back to my own BPD, narcissistic, alcoholic, and abusive mother.
You're welcome, and I appreciate your honesty. It's encouraging to hear that your adult daughter has reached a good place, and it's clear that you've been reflective and aware of the impact of your own upbringing on your behavior. Recognizing the triggers from your past and working to break the cycle is a significant step toward healing and improving your relationships. It's truly a testament to your growth and resilience. Keep moving forward, and I wish you and your daughter all the very very best that you deserve!
This was a PERFECT video of my experience.
