    I don't often seek out this channel. Initially I found it through auto play. Taking a nap on a day off and waking up this man just working on cars was a joy. The same thing happened just now. Woke up from a nap and spent like an hour watching this man do what he does best.
    There's a certain charisma and philosophy you have on life that I think a lot of people (including myself) can really take some notes from. You're so tranquil and calm about this stuff. I don't work on cars much, tech is more my domain when something needs a fixin. But part of my workflow is to say fuck at least 10 times for something to eventually be fixed lmao.
    You're a good man. A backwoods philosopher in some ways even haha. I love this channel. I respect the hell out of people who just refuse to let stuff die and do absolutely everything in their power to get things back in working order. We live in such a throwaway society nowadays. • @BrainDamageBBQ
      @BrainDamageBBQ 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@KnexRules8365 Issues with the Fiero's engine? The 2.5 and 2.8 are both great engines. Usual issues with any older gasoline engine are expected. EFI issues are going to be tougher, Google for electrolytic capacitor failures. Basically, electrolytic capacitors fail with age and heat, so even if all your sensors are good, they might throw a Check Engine light. A new ECM will be the same age as the car... so still bad. You need someone with component level skills to repair inside the ECM. Most electronics repair places just know how to swap boards. Contact a local antique radio club, we know all about bad capacitors... LOL.

    Part of your overheating issue could be that piece you found in the trunk. If it’s an air dam that goes under the bumper to direct air to the radiator, you have to have it. A lot of people take them off of fbodies and then can’t figure out why they start to overheat. It’s essential, if that’s what it is

    Another great rescue. Right after high school, I worked summer jobs in the service department of a local Cadillac dealer in Pittsburgh. For the short life of the company, they also carried Bricklin so we had acces to both new and those brought in for service. They were so unique back in the day and sounded great (to my 18 year old ears). I remember new models in lime green and orange. I think the initial models had AMC engines in them and then came the 351's, you know, just like a Pantera. One came in for service because the doors were inop and it took several guys to get the thing open. The lot boy (me) had to crawl in and steer while they pushed it into the shop to try to get it fixed. Nothing major - just a distant Bricklin memory... Thanks for the trip in the way-back machine.

    On my 1974 Corvette, there is what looks sort of like a chin spoiler underneath the front, but it is actually a wind deflector to deflect wind from below up to the rad since there is no grill. The SV1 looks similar and what was found in the trunk might a wind deflector, which may help with the overheating issues. BTW, my understanding is that fans are never the issue when overheating occurs over 35mph since that's around the point where the wind speed exceeds fan ability.

    Dude, you made for yourself an awesome job. You get to be out in the fresh air, performing multiple miracles on a daily basis to ressurect the dead. And everywhere you go you leave piles of dead batteries, oil slicks, copious clouds of noxious fumes and you get more mold to ingest than any mortal man deserves. And your eloquence in splaining stuff is unrivaled. Thanks for wasting another of my Saturday mornings.

    I kind of figured you wouldn't make it home with the SV1 but a good effort! There are still a few of them running around here in Ontario Canada. Always kind of wanted one...but after watching this video Derek, that feeling has totally gone away! Great video as always! 👍

    My friend owns a production company and he and I are supposed to be working on an eight episode car history documentary series together. One of the episodes was about the Bricklin SV1 so it would be cool to see that thing looking nice again and running as good as it can. I have a soft spot for these so the more saved the better!

      Cation is the better part of grander. You gave it a hell of a try and you’re still over 99% successful on these “resurrect them with bailing wire and a prayer then drive them 500 miles + home” “ dare devil challenges. Every one of them seemed so insurmountable as to wonder how you ever made it home. It’s an excellent video and I, for one, am not disappointed.
      I think I would make sure I have a working charging system for trips over 200 miles. I also wonder if a new water pump might have helped although I didn’t catch what caused the final breakdown.
      You have set a new personal best for “breakdowns per mile” if that’s any consolation!
      Much Love,
      DrRick.

    The Bricklin is one of the safest cars. Cause you can never get it to leave your yard. 😂
