If you don't want to have a connection to you at all. You should never have both phones with you and online at the same time. Otherwise there will be a pattern where two different IDs will be always on the same location - every machine learning tool will find that pattern pretty fast.

But what I still find scary is that basically it's a criminal knows how to get a cell phone and a cell phone number which is a burner phone that is basically what could happen is they could get any phone number in any part of the United States. They can use a dummy named a dummy address anything that's dummy and basically no one would know. But now from what I understand the Federal bureau of investigation is now starting to realize that these burner phones are used in all cellular phone networks like AT&t Verizon & T-Mobile. But there are also other carriers that sell burner phones like boost Mobile. All the way up to Verizon wireless prepaid. And I also understand that AT&t wireless has AT&t prepaid formerly known as AT&t GoPhone. You just pay cash for the burner phone get a cell phone number and then walk out of the store with no problem! That is why the word needs to be put out that these burner phones are mainly used for criminal activity.

Have the store where you purchase the burner phone activate it. If you purchase it, take it home, call in to activate it, the phone you're calling from is linked to the new burner phone.

They will imediately start to watch the meta of your top 100 called numbers. This is assuming you are on the lamb, it will take them less than 2 minutes to determine if the number on the burner phone is of interest and in any city they will have CCTV or an officer on site to visually confirm an ID.

Keeping it in a tiny Faraday bag/holder works better and won't be as strange to people. Faraday bag does the same thing, it blocks all tracking methods, all cell tower signals even if the phone is off. Even these basic "dummy" phones can be tracked through cell towers every time you pass a cell tower. I believe they even have a way to track them now even if it's turned off far as smart phones go. The makers are installing back door software that runs while the phone seems to be "turned off" but in reality it's still recording and tracking stuff far as location and audio. The makers of our smart phones then sell this information to 3rd parties and target specific adds towards you to sell you stuff based on the information they get from your phone and daily life. Sometimes they'll even use this information against people. Never trust these things.

I'm thinking of having a flip phone as a decoy cause most people will silently laugh! So I'm a picture taker and want to do some vlogging, would anyone recommend me to get a gopro or just to carry my expensive phone concealed, and only take it out for pictures? Now with a flip phone or Blackberry, would I still be able to use Google maps for example, if I'm lost? I did grow up in flip phone era, haha, but I've forgotten about them. I'd rather not take the expensive phone out, when trying to find a location-- Any help or advice would be amazing!!

Cellphones are very hot items outside of the US and any smartphone is like gold . Your best option is to just BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. You can try to conceal a decoy phone but eventually someone will see you using your actual phone and decide you are a target. Don't walk and talk on your phone, before you take pictures scan your surroundings, make sure you are not being followed. If you know they are coming for your phone just hand it to them and get another one. I see it's been months since you posted this, hope this helps and all is well.

Its hardware. A good example of this is is the "Cingular Flip" from AT&T. Its just a rebranded version of the Alcatel Go Flip phones. Hardware is exactly identical, the difference is external shell and AT&T loads a version of KaiOS that has the network hotspot removed. However the hardware for it is still on the phone. So a group(or person, idk) called BananaHacker made a patch for it that adds back the software.
So as long as the hardware is there, it can be used even if you're not aware of it. Unless to physically removed the chip or installed some sore of hardwired kill switch. The issues is, most device now use a single chip that have GPS, GSM, and LTE in one or a combination of the sorts.

Also never have the burner powered on when you are in your vehicle, first of all cameras can see and recognize vehicle registration plates especially in Vegas, and if you have a vehicle That's not a 2003 or older GM fleet level beater chances are there is some sort of wireless functionality of the vehicle that has an associated IMEI or MAC address, for example your car's built in GPS navigation, Sirius XM satellite radio, Chevrolet OnStar, or any other manufacturers equivalent, and nowadays cars are using the built-in cellular modem as a Wi-Fi hotspot. And if your vehicle is captured on CCTV and the cell towers pick up the ping then You're opsec is compromised

Portugal, Ireland, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Slovenia, Croatia, Czechia Bosnia and Herzegovina, Liechtenstein, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Finland, Denmark, All 3 baltic countries, USA, CANADA, NEW ZEALAND and Nicaragua are countries that don't mandate ID verification for pre paid sim cards. If you live in Spain for example you can get a pre paid Portuguese phone thanks to EU wide roaming

I'm not sure that phones are made with "tracking chips" that you can remove and get rid of the spying. It's just a matter of software backdoors that access the sensor suite that you've decided to carry in your pocket.

They have been collecting everyone's faces from traffic cameras for the last few years and matching them to facebook photo etc. You don't need to be arrested. Then ask yourself why they introduced fingerprint passwords. Now you don't have to be arrested for them to have your fingerprint too. Next is your DNA profile...
