Today china can produced $89 smartphone with
      - unisoc T606 (8 core CPU ARMv8.b cortex A55)
      - 6.7" IPS screen,
      - gorrila glass 3 protection,
      - 4GB LPDDR3 RAM,
      - 64GB emmc 5.1,
      - 50MP camera,
      - Bluetooth 5.1,
      - 4G VOLTE.
So there's no excuse dumbPhone need $300 with the spec from 2018. Security update for what if you can't install banking app......
Most of this dumbPhone is Just cash grab by company because they knew people Who refused to pay for smartphone will buy this overprice dumbPhone.

also, make sure to pick a 4g model, because most of dumbphpnes are 2g, and lots of governements decided to turn off 2g and even 3g in 2024/2025. plus, 2g brings parasites noises to your fm radio and other stuff.

    • @Mo7amedIhab
      @Mo7amedIhab 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

They'll turn off the 3G first since it's more problematic and because 5G runs well on the 2100 frequency band which is the main frequency band of 3G.
2G still has got a while.
Also, it depends on the country you're in and how many people have moved and switched to smartphones in that area.

Apple just updated their OS to iOS 17 which has a new feature called Assistive Access. This feature turns the UI into an extremely simplified "baby" interface which makes it look like a dumbphone with huge icons. Each app icon is so large that only about six can fit on a screen at one time. This feature might be good for people who struggle with distraction as well as people with certain disabilities.

Still mid-video so I'm not sure if you found any, but if I'm being honest, my ideal flip phone/dumb phone would be extremely basic. Just calling, texting, email, 4G data and uploading custom notification sounds to it. That's all I'd really need in a flip phone, especially considering I'm planning on downgrading a lot of my stuff just to simplify my life. Why do I need a full-fledged computer in my pocket when I have a perfectly good (and beefy) gaming rig as it is, you know? A good & helpful review. I'm looking for one feature which seems to be missing in almost all the phones you've described EXCEPT the $329 Sunbeam F-1 Pro. The feature is talk to text (a phone that takes dictation (not typing) to respond to text messages. I don't care for most, even all, of the features, including TH-cam and the like. What would recommend in the sub $200 category? Thanks.

    • @JoseBriones

I have an Emporia Touchsmart which has what i need. i.e. whatsapp, basic browser and decentish camera. but would be great if it had maps to. the downsides is that it lags sometimes, the battery isnt great and the stupid position of the camera lens. Apart from that its decent. touch screen is a big bonus to. You should try and get it to review Jose?
