Talk about playing with its food! Yes, I know someone else said it, too, but I felt like pointing it out myself.

According to information found by hacking the game's data, the Lesser Spotted Jellyfloat will digest one Pikmin in 30 seconds, however, the more Pikmin the enemy has in it, the longer the digestion time, with each additional Pikmin adding 30 seconds to the time until digestion finishes. It's likely that the intended effect was for the enemy to kill one Pikmin every 30 seconds one was in it, however, whether it was caused by programming limitations of the time, or by the program not working the intended way, instead the program causes it to kill all Pikmin inside it once the combine timer reaches 0. Hope this helps those of you curious about the specifics of the enemy.
For all those rewatching this series (like me) in 2021 and still confused as to where Emile lost Pikmin: Jellyfloats of both varieties can kill Pikmin by digesting them. It's very slow, but Pikmin can die by way of Jellyfloats, hence why you wanna take them out (that, and their deaths are pretty, I can agree).

Contrary to what you said earlier, the lesser spotted jelly float actually can kill pikmin, it just takes a long time. It absorbs the pikmin, then slowly digests them until the pikmin die, or you kill the jelly float. It sucked up your three pikmin and killed them while you were exploring the rest of the floor

The cap that says Yoo-Hoo Chocolate flavored beverage actually is regenerated. It is just an old version of it in this game. You may find it rarely in stores as Yoo-Hoo chocolate drink.
Plants do in fact absorb both oxygen and carbon dioxide. The general consensus is that they only absorb CO2 and give off Oxygen, but they do require Oxygen for the same process of Cellular Respiration as animal cells. The absorption of CO2 is just for the making of their food, not for the other life functions. As such, the blue pikmin's mouth gets oxygen from the water, and others can't. However, seeing as this is a game, it doesn't matter too much how they breathe as there is game logic.
