  • Hi folks!
In this week's video we take you to the Welsh Hills to visit this very old farmhouse sitting down a very long and winding overgrown lane. Upon first seeing this property we expected an empty shell, but were pleasantly surprised to see a house still filled with memories. Filled with old newspapers and medications for sheep and cattle, this house was quite an interesting explore. Beautiful horns hung on the damp wall, covered with dust and debris made for a very haunting scene. Upstairs we discovered yet another set of much bigger antlers and family photos. A lot of memories now long forgotten.. Join us as we take you around this interesting home. If you like this video then please like, subscribe and comment and thank you for watching!

I should imagine the farmer moved out of the house a long time ago, probably built a nice little bungalow for him and the wife and just used the old house for storage. A bit surprised to see a relatively new House and Home amongst all that ancient stuff. The antlers looked fantastic in the window, good work Rob and Clare for the find.😊

It’s a very old fashioned metal curry comb. You would brush your horse with a body brush, then scrap the brush over the curry comb to get all the dirt out of the brush. You could do it really fast , brush horse, comb brush, brush horse, brush comb………. I wonder if all the kettles were because they had no running hot water ? Maybe. How very sad that all their treasured photos are left and unwanted

You could be right about the kettles, I didn't think of that!
Thank you for telling us what the brush is for, really appreciate it 💚

I didn't get a notification so I'm only watching now guy's. The smell of perms back in the day was rank 👃.I do like the banter between you both during the explore 😂. Amusing explore Rob and Claire. 😊 I remember my mum's uncle and when looking at the deaths in the local paper he seriously said isn't it funny how they die in alphabetical order 😂. Xxx

    Shout Out From Georgia USA🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
I found this find by chance from you was very interesting to me all the old stuff inside was incredible. My favorite was the pictures, it always is. It's hard to believe family members leave memories of themselves and or loved ones , friends etc to rot in these places 😢. Why store pictures in a place like this as well it appears to be a dumping horder situation/ farmer barn really 😢 but had interesting things inside to me.😊
Can anyone explain why people kept and store all the newspapers, magazines, sale papers etc that we see in so many videos that they have read decades ago??
I doubt anyone reads them again or needs information from them, it's strange to me and just becomes a hoarder situation and clutter really in my opinion 😞🤔
To each thier own it's their choice. I personally could not stand it in my house, storage area, barn, closet, anywhere.
Thanks for sharing and finding this era back in time,I loved it❤🎉😊
Except for the newspapers lol. I think maybe a museum could keep records of the old newspapers, magazines or libraries it would be interesting to view them like that.
Until next time have a good weekend and upcoming week 😊

      Thank you!
For a split second I did think that maybe they were kept for fire starting. The sheer amount of papers in there though goes beyond that. I'll never understand it. I had a neighbour like that, she kept every newspaper she ever bought just because she couldn't bare to throw them away! Thank you for watching all the way from Georgia! 💚

They most likely kept and stored all the newspapers to use for fire and to insulate in cold weather as well. Back in the early days newspapers were used to help keep place warm.

Thanks for the information, it makes sense. I forget about those living conditions back then. I like a fireplace and when camping but thank goodness for the better living conditions we have now or at least most people I would think hopefully.

My mum once permed my hair with the home perm, she did it so strong and tight, I smelt of perm chemicals for ages and seemed to take forever to get the curls to loosen up,I hated it

🤣 I'm sorry for laughing but I've seen many a home perm disaster over the years. I worked with a girl many years ago who ended up looking like a microphone, it was so funny!

3:23 I wonder what’s in that cupboard? Absolutely nothing…it’s all on the floor.🙄13:40 It seems to be more of an out building than a house. Maybe he was a vet. 20:20. I am pretty sure these are genuine photos of the family members. Someone went to University because of the blazer in a photo. With the exception of one postcard. What is the Union Jack storey? Going home for a hot bath now. Achoo!!!!!

    • @silentseekersexplore
      @silentseekersexplore  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      🤣
Well it would seem that flying the union jack these days is deemed racist. Not that I take a blind bit of notice of that, it's ridiculous. Flying any other flag on the other hand is absolutely fine!
