Gents, THIS is the kind of review I prefer. Don't get me wrong, your usual work is fine, but for the life of me, I really do hate having to come back every few days to see bits and pieces of a review of the same car(s). I've said it time and time again on this channel, I appreciate a new video every day, but will ALWAYS prefer quality over sheet quantity.
at this time (unless they edit vid) the pop-ups for the MPG is flipped at 4:40 & 4:56. Correct MPG is: Honda Accord Hybrid: 50/45/47 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE 43/39 XLE 40/38
My Chevy Volt just turned 12,000 miles after 8 months of driving. I have a 145 mpg lifetime average since I bought it new. It goes 45-51 miles on electricity, then the gas generator kicks in seamlessly for limitless range. Most owners who drive less than 40 miles per day get 900 mpg lifetime ave. I have never changed my oil (75% oil life left), and rarely use my brakes due to the instant regenerative brakes as I let up off the throttle (totally awesome in heavy traffic). It hasn't had a single problem since I bought the car, not even a single rattle. The maintenance schedule up to 120,000 miles is basically rotate tires and check fluid levels. Virtually no maintenance. I have 274 lbs of torque at 0 rpm, so leaving cars at lights is easy. 0-60 in about 8.5 secs, a very low center of gravity for good handling, and looks better than most cars. The Volt will be like the EV1... People will cry when it's gone because they didn't know enough about what a phenomenal car it truly is. The car seats 4 in bucket seats, which may be a deal breaker for people looking for more than 3 passengers. It has been the top rated car for customer satisfaction for a couple of years. Mine cost $22,195 after $9,000 in Fed and Ca. Credits and rebates. They are even cheaper than that now.
You really can't beat either of these cars, it's really down to preference. I'm personally a Toyota fan, because I've experienced how reliable they are time after time, and that factor keeps bringing me back. Although I do like how premium the Accord feels.
Very good comparison, guys! I respect the opinion of those who like the Accord's styling better, but I happen to like the Camry a smidge better (external). Interior goes to the Accord though. Honda really has done a great job with this car. Thanks guys!
Honda has hit a home-run with the new Accord hybrid! Class leading 50mpg city, and a sharp looking car that is actually fun to drive. I hope Honda expands its new hybrid system across all of its models in the near future.
At 4:54 when discussing the Honda, and earlier when discussing the Toyota, the lower 3rd graphics are associated with the wrong car. The Toyota is 30C/38H and the Honda is 50C/45H - - Maybe you can insert a graphic fixing that?
I said it once and I’ll say it again, if you want a car for the looks and luxury, get a Camry, if you want a car for speed and the engine, get a accord, simple
Great video guys. I would just like to point out that the Camry's MPG specifications were shown when the Accord was on screen, and the Accord's MPG specifications were shown when the Camry was being shown. May be confusing to the audience.
I would still choose the Camry Hybrid over the Accord Hybrid. Yeah Accord may be a better car than the Camry but I'm not sure if they are that reliable. I'm having some issues with my 2009 Accord V6 VCM now. I remember way back then, before I purchased this car new, many car reviews praised this Accord for it's performance and design. But now, I cannot keep this car due to it's electrical issues. My brother that bought a 2007 Camry LE V6 never had any issue in his car.
I like the styling of the Camry, but I have to give it to the Accord. Every Honda I've had was simply awesome. I'm not a fan of hybrids, but if I were to get one, it would be the Accord. Very interesting car. I'd still take an V-6 Accord.

I am not sure why these guys compared a lower level model of Accord to the Camry XLE but I am guessing it was to reduce the weight of the Accord to give it an advantage in their little "race".
usxinfinity Did you watch the video? They're driving the top-of-the-line Touring model (the LED headlights give it away). The Accord is loaded. Also, I'm 6'1" and 250 lbs. I test-drove an Accord Hybrid this morning and had no trouble with leg room. You must be 75% leg.
Tom Eisenmenger Typical Accord fan. I've owned both. Camry wins and my Camry Hybrid XLE has LED headlights. Do your homework. I bet you hit your legs on the steering column/lower console 8 out of 10 times. You are showing a lot of bias via all of your other comments.
Matt James ...as you are showing your own Camry bias. I'm just saying that I fit just fine in my Accord and in the HAH I test drove with no leg hitting the steering column or console. It's not about hitting your legs while you're driving...but every time you try to get into the Accord. It noticeably sticks out in comparison to the Camry. You can't really comment since the last test drove you took of a TCH was back in '07. Eight years...so much fine tuning and upgrading. I had an '09 Accord coupe and while it was a great car, it was sluggish around corners, slow as hell off the line, and the interior hadn't been changed since '06. I gave both the TCH and the Accord a test drive last September and there was NO comparison. The 2014.5 TCH won hands-down.
One thing I've noticed about the 2013 and 2014 Accords is that the front passenger leg room is significantly smaller. I'm 6-foot tall and my legs are bent at a 45 degree angle when the passenger seat is all the way back. My 2003 honda accord model has much more leg room. Why????? This is keeping us from buying a new accord.
I have the 2014 Accord LX CVT and this is the m.p.g that I have been able to get on the expressway...42.0. Will send you a picture as soon as I can figure out on my phone how...
Great video guys! Really like your style and presentation. Only thing I don't like about the new Accord Hybrid - I can't frickin' get one! Honda has only made about 1,500 of these so far. The color and trim I want is almost nowhere to be found. Finally broke down last week and placed a factory order. May have to wait 3 months or so. But I do love the electric drive modes. I really wanted to buy a Tesla Model S. But I don't have $80,000 to spend on a car. The Accord Hybrid is a good compromise :D
JDM-House The new Hyundais aren't bad at all, really, I mean yea, Hyundai and Kia has made shitty plastic crappy cars back throughout the past, but they improved the brands' automobiles in 2010 or later and now they don't look like shitty plastic crappy cars they used to make back in the day, now they are looking much better and nicer looking cars. I still prefer Accord Hybrid, but I prefer the Sonata Hybrid over the dull-looking Camry Hybrid anyday, the Sonata is better gas mileage than Camry and a better luxurious interior.
Based on safety/crash rating alone, Accord already wins. My families got both manufactures over 30 yrs. Still got both cars in our lots. I've checked out both cars in car shows for the 2014 model. Based on this video, I got a better understanding of road drive. I would pick the Accord. Now my dilemma is which to buy, between Accord vs Ford Fusion hybrid.
Correct, but I drive the 2013 Camry Hybrid (basically same as this model) and if the car is in the Eco Mode vs not the car actually uses far less power and you must take it out of that mode, by pushing the button in front of the gear shift.
I don't think I'd ever get a hybrid anytime soon. Reason being is that most mechanics won't touch it so you're stuck taking it to the dealer and if you break down in an area where there is no dealer nearby or they're not open then you're SOL.
The same is true nowadays with all cars not just -hybrids. They all are now fully loaded with all kind of electronics. But new cars have typically free roadside assistance and more reliable than an old car without all these high tech electronics.
Honda Accord on screen info is 40/38 MPG and you said combine is 47MPG? I was confused. Turns out you guys had your on screen information mixed up between the two. Honda Accord is 50/45 and Toyota Camry is the 40/38 MPG.
If you shut the ECO button off the Honda Accord Hybrid it will go even faster. I got into the 7's with mine. Also make sure the heater and AC are off. Enjoy
I just saw the consumer reports video of Honda Accord hybrid VS Honda Accord 4 cyl, turns out Accord hybrids actual MPGs aren't close to the EPA estimated 48 and Accord hybrid handling in emergency situations is poor, also the trunk loses a lot of space and no spare tire included. Consumer Reports recommend to buy a Camry hybrid instead which doesn't give many complications like the Accord hybrid. Also the Camry starts at 27k the Accord starts at 29k.
I am 6 ft 4 inch 255 pounds and I sit just fine and perfectly comfortable in my 2014 camry and I'll take it any day over a Honda but my only complaint is the plastic peice on the side of the seat broke that has the seat controls but this 2014 Camry is a very nice car!
Off topic a little but my new accord coupe with the v6, my fourth Honda car, really should be called a Prelude. The coup with the v6 feels like a completely different car from my neighbors four cylinder sedan. All of my Honda cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers and generators. have been rock solid reliable. The three Toyotas I've owned have been just as reliable. Honda seems to be getting the mojo back.
Great review, but I'm confused how the Avalon with the same engine is faster? I really like the Honda but for midsize hybrid sedan the Camry is still the proven winner in my opinion.
18:36 There is a sport mode in the Camry. Its basically a semiautomatic transmission mode. You have to manually shift it up and down. Pretty useless unless you need to climb a really steep hill.
I know you guys are experts. I have a 2014 Hybrid Camry G Package. My car does 0- 60 in 7.5 secs and less times. I have also out ran 2014 Hybrid Accords. Hey I guess it's the driver of the car that makes the difference lol.
FINALLY a honda nathan doesnt despise. in terms of midsizes, i would take an accord first, then probably a passat even though the passat is pretty dated to look at inside and out. they just ride so nice though. the honda is just fresh all around.
Yeah but in terms of long term investment return the accord's got it down. i also like the fact its one of the last midsizes offering a stick on multiple trims, a coupe EXL v6 with a 6 speed manual, and a naturally aspirated 278 horse V6.
No doubt. The Accord is the benchmark in its class as always. And in terms of resale value, the Accord is top shelf.. But for just a sweet riding fun mid sizer with a nice exterior/ interior the 6 is pretty sweet.
I was in the market for a new Camry, yes, I have a 2002 with over 219,000 miles and it is still runs very well. However, this new design really sucks and I am holding out to see what happens next year. Honda is ok but I had a really bad experience with one so not very interested in Honda anymore.
dvdrummer vann Constant transmission problems with my Accord. It was a used car so it might have just been a lemon but it was the worst used car that I ever had. Hate judging all Hondas based on my experience but I have had multiple used Toyotas and my experience has never been that bad.
2 things. What trim is the Accord? The Accord fights the Avalon as well and the Camry. Of course the Accord is going to offer more than the Camry. Also, the Accord looks VERY similar to a ES350. From 2007. How is THAT one the more modern looking? I agree that the Accord looks better, but that is because the Camry's looks have deteriorated since 3rd/4th gen. Of course you would do well to get either one. I would go with the Camry since Toyota has more experience with the hybrids and if you plan on keeping the car until it dies, there will be more of the Camrys on the road.
Both are great cars, but I went with the Camry because they are listed as the #1 car to reach over 200k miles on every report with the majority to easily pass >300k miles. Honda makes it from time to time, but not every report.
The new Honda Accord Hybrid is amazing and sets the bar very high for others to reach. Great review on a great car.
16:48, during the 8.22 run in the Accord, it is clearly in Econ mode as indicated by the green leaves on the upper left part of the gauge cluster.
So is the Camry
Accord also received a "GOOD" safety rating while Camry was "Acceptable" to "Marginal" according to actual Crash Tests!
In fact, Honda outperformed most other sedans in it's safety rank.

Ok. So I should buy one and lease the other but I have no idea cost of ownership let's say 5 years on either of these vehicles?
A camry for 35k? That is a rip off! There are so many other cars out there that are much better for that price, yes maybe not hybrids but still
It is not 35k, they bought the most advanced model. The base model right now is 27k....
spidervenom44 I thought the base model was $22k
shaochia vang Base model *hybrid* Camry is ~27,000 with the destination fee.

The camry doesnt seem to change, theyre annoying to look at in my opinio. The accord blows it out of the water
I'd like the way they test drive the car because actual 0-60 sec always told !
Based on safety/crash rating alone, Accord already wins. My families got both manufactures over 30 yrs. Still got both cars in our lots. I've checked out both cars in car shows for the 2014 model. Based on this video, I got a better understanding of road drive. I would pick the Accord. Now my dilemma is which to buy, between Accord vs Ford Fusion hybrid.
somethings sketchy about the mpg... I think they are reversed.. The Honda is the one that gets 50 mpg city, not the camry
well charlie once you study the powertrain design you'll understand peace :)
Honda has come back, which I'm glad.
I've owned several, currently a fit owner .
I'd say the most unappealing car in there line up is the civic.
you didn't take the camry out of eco mode. economy mode limits the accelerator so that wasn't an accurate 0-60 time
there's no sport mode
Correct, but I drive the 2013 Camry Hybrid (basically same as this model) and if the car is in the Eco Mode vs not the car actually uses far less power and you must take it out of that mode, by pushing the button in front of the gear shift.
Camry is number 1 car
Very comfortable car
Toyota have good offers
I go with camry
Pledged! Hope your Kickstarter gets funded.
Both cars are excellent at what they do. Toyota has already promised a slight model refresh for 2015.
AMEN AMEN AMEN 💯💯💯💯
Honda! Of course its going to be better.
Accord Hybrid has 2.0L engine. is it K20 or R20 ???
Love my Honda Accord!
I agree with Nathan the accord looks newer than the cars today
Love the Honda ..... thank you guys for this awesome video and pleaaaaase keepup the great work :)
Thanks for the nice comment and thanks for watching!
Enjoy
You mixed up the EPA ratings between the 2 cars on the screen
I just saw the consumer reports video of Honda Accord hybrid VS Honda Accord 4 cyl, turns out Accord hybrids actual MPGs aren't close to the EPA estimated 48 and Accord hybrid handling in emergency situations is poor, also the trunk loses a lot of space and no spare tire included. Consumer Reports recommend to buy a Camry hybrid instead which doesn't give many complications like the Accord hybrid. Also the Camry starts at 27k the Accord starts at 29k.
Don't you have to consider the weight of the drivers as well? Or, at least switch drivers for the second trial.
254,261 subscribers and is increasing :) good job guys you are awesome :)
I'd buy the Camry over the Accord for sure. The Camry beats the Accord in looks any day of the week.....
Honda accord is good. i like it. if only they could do something about the styling it would be perfect.
A 0-60 test with automatic transmission?
You guys should compare it to the 2015 camry hybrid
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Nope
Great review, but I'm confused how the Avalon with the same engine is faster? I really like the Honda but for midsize hybrid sedan the Camry is still the proven winner in my opinion.
There is no such thing as a definitive 0-60 MPH. It really depends on the driver, the car and the day.
Decade after decade
Accord and Camry live on
THE EPIC SHOWDOWN BETWEEN GOLDEN VANILLA & VANILLA BEAN!!!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
The posted mileage is reversed. The Accord is rated 50/45, not the Camry.
18:36 There is a sport mode in the Camry. Its basically a semiautomatic transmission mode. You have to manually shift it up and down. Pretty useless unless you need to climb a really steep hill.
#YES, I HAVE THAT!!!👍💯
Honda cars always push more power and better fuel than toyota's. I love Honda's.
I know you guys are experts. I have a 2014 Hybrid Camry G Package. My car does 0- 60 in 7.5 secs and less times. I have also out ran 2014 Hybrid Accords. Hey I guess it's the driver of the car that makes the difference lol.
@Johnny Draken, then tell us why the Prius Hybrid has been the best hybrid for more than 10 years now. This is current.
East or West Camry is the best...!😍💚💖
Anyone else notice how Roman always has his seat belt twisted?
FINALLY a honda nathan doesnt despise. in terms of midsizes, i would take an accord first, then probably a passat even though the passat is pretty dated to look at inside and out. they just ride so nice though. the honda is just fresh all around.
The new Mazda 6 is Bad ass.
I have both these vehicles in my family, the accord is better on fuel and fresher looking on, but the Camry feels like a more quality car to me
Why can they have memory drivers seat like they do in Asia! (Taiwan for example)
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
who said the accord has 140 hp? might need to recheck that one
is the mpg wrong on the accord?
how is it combined 47 when it gets 40/38
ikr, it was esimated
I was in the market for a new Camry, yes, I have a 2002 with over 219,000 miles and it is still runs very well. However, this new design really sucks and I am holding out to see what happens next year. Honda is ok but I had a really bad experience with one so not very interested in Honda anymore.
Just saw the 2015 and I really like that car.
Colin Yapp Me too.
Colin Yapp what was your bad experience?
dvdrummer vann Constant transmission problems with my Accord. It was a used car so it might have just been a lemon but it was the worst used car that I ever had. Hate judging all Hondas based on my experience but I have had multiple used Toyotas and my experience has never been that bad.
Colin Yapp ohh ok, thanx
Here in 2022, cause I have this car!
#BEAUTIFUL SEDANS!!!👏💯🤛✔😊🎈
The Camry was on Eco mode. That affects the speed. You need to redo the times.
could you do more mashups please?
Both are great cars, but I went with the Camry because they are listed as the #1 car to reach over 200k miles on every report with the majority to easily pass >300k miles. Honda makes it from time to time, but not every report.
