    April 28, 2023 - These are my initial impressions of this jacket. Normally, I would not buy from a large, outsourcing company, since it goes against my buying philosophy, but this purchase was connected to family reasons. I am quite impressed with this garment.

    I think I have that same one, similarly my wife and I got denim jackets at the same time! I absolutely love type 1 style with those kind of hand-warmer pockets, hidden like that are the absolute best! I have a couple of type 1 style jackets, and the pockets are always the 2nd most important feature for me, first are the front pleats, 3rd is the back cinch. Great vid!

      Look at you tag and see if it’s made out of 70% cotton and 30% hemp. There is a similar one that uses a dry wicking material I think and it’s no selvedge. Maybe that’s what you have. Still a sick jacket!

    This type of type 1 without the pocket flap gotta be my favorite style of denim jacket! I managed to get a similar one to the one you have, but made in japan by levis. I think ive been able to date it to 1992 by the tag . The flap-less pocket imo is soo much handier than with the flap, i feel like i use it more. It fits me quite a bit smaller so its kind of cropped and smaller in the shoulders. Im a tall but (maybe too) skinny guy so it doesnt pull places. Very lucky to have it…

    • @thevintagefuture6567
      @thevintagefuture6567  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ooooo your Japan jacket sounds killer! And yeah, I’ve had a live for the flapless Type I just like you for quite some time. It’s so uncommon to see, so quirky, so relaxed, so utility looking. I’m used to having an open patch pocket like that from my Patagonia barn coat and all my pocket tees, plus some other shirts, so having that open front pocket feels like home. I also really love the aesthetic of the front pleat on Type I and II; I don’t wanna live without it, which is one reason I don’t love Type III.

  • @hugoagudo4282
    @hugoagudo4282 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video. That premium type I is a great buy. I got the LVC type I last year. It has one pocket and no selvedge detailing on the latch thing at the back. The hemp is a great addition to the premium version. I have a shirt with some hemp in it making it very soft and comfortable without having to use polyester or elastane.

    • @thevintagefuture6567
      @thevintagefuture6567  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I love the hemp blend. It’s been so nice. That said, 100% is perfection. If I had to choose one, it would be all cotton. I’m beginning to see all cotton holds a shape better and thus fades with more dimension and depth.

    When I see the right one I’ve definitely got to get a type 1. I’ve got a black Tanuki type3 that’s perfect for layering, and an indigo RGT Sashiko Cruiser which is their take on a type 2 and is perfect for wearing with a t-shirt.

    • @thevintagefuture6567
      @thevintagefuture6567  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! Then you all have all three!….I feel like T1 is the hardest cuz most companies and customers understand the idea of it the least and try to make it into a Type 3 that looks different, which makes it awkward. Should be roomier and boxier, even if it isn’t as roomy as mine. I’m real interested in the Freewheelers one or TCB.

    Man, funny how we both got the same jackets (Unbranded and this one). I managed to get this sometime last year for $67, and it may have been through some kind of coupon "loophole" because I was so surprised they'd ever sell something like this at that price. Made zero sense. I checked back a day or two later and there wasn't any way to get it at that price despite the sale still being on.
    I like to think I know quality, and this is it. Also like that it has the hemp blended in there, wish we'd see more hemp fabrics around this type of market/audience. EDIT: I say that because I like the extra durability of the hemp and I've noticed it does seem to help. I wore that Unbranded jacket down pretty quickly, but this one is holding up perfectly.

    I helive through donut buttons, no flap and simple sinch it was inspired by ww2 jackets. I feel they improved a lot with extra pockets. I did stitch a bit of the inner pockets opening right at the hips together so inner pocket doesn't show wile I ware jacket open. I love 2 tone stitching and nap denim. Also cool detail is that all of the button bases have stamped factory numb that matches the tag rather than first and last one that is case in regular line great rewarding detail too. What a jacket!

    • @brunonjezic6208

      Aw that’s a bummer. Precisely why I don’t usually buy anything at all from Levi. This jacket and their LVC line would be the exceptions. Even then, heritage/repro/Amekaji companies can get you a way better product essentially every time. They’re more expensive than Levi, but once you get them, you never regret spending all the extra money; the extra cost is completely worth it. Hope you find what you’re looking for 👍🏽 Maybe try Iron Heart or Freenote or something.
