I recently bought a vintage blue denim jacket from the 80’s. I wear it with slightly contrasting blue jeans, tee shirt or a button up shirt and cowboy boots. I love the look.
You guys have a video for everything I literally spent all week watching your videos it's endless. In a week I now know how a good suite looks. I now know proper table manners how to accept a compliment and now how to style a denim jacket. You guys are legends
From Buffalo, N.Y. Sir, you expounded on this nicely. I like my Wrangler Jeans. I will get a pair of black jeans and match it with my Wrangler Jacket. No one seems to sell Denim Sport Coats anymore. I'm 69 and in the 70's there were a lot of Denim Sport Coats. I don't mean western style but casual denim sport coats. I've been looking in thrift stores but haven't seen any. I often wear sport coats with my Wrangler jeans. Wrangler seems more comfortable to me than Levi's. Sir, you Voiced, Narrated this video very well.
Much appreciated, Phil! Those were created by our Script Supervisor, Jack (who also scripted this video). We hope we can continue to leverage his artistic skills in future videos! - Preston
I enjoy the videos featuring Sven and Preston, but their personal styles are far more formal than my own. I just don't wear suits or ties very often, so Kyle and his more casual looks both are far more relevant to my own life, wardrobe and shopping habits. So what I'm saying is that for Gentlemen's Gazette, adding Kyle is one of the best moves that you've made as far as video content - his takes on dressing are pertinent to the modern man's daily life. (I suppose that can be taken as a commentary on the casualization slide of style, but it it what it is.)
as a university student and a classic menswear lover, sportcoat is always too formal for my environment so i have been rocking my denim jacket for some time. it is my fav piece of clothing.
I prefer not to wear a sport coat where I live due to the average person dressing as casual as can be. So, I opt for a bomber or field jacket at maximum. Meh.
Lol I am used to being a critic about people wearing white tie ensemble and me seeing their photoes. I always check the waistcoat first and that thing has affected me a lot.
Yep. This is DEFINITELY the worst Gentlemen’s Gazette video. Raphael must be throwing up with the shortness and tightness of the jacket, white t-shirt appearing under the OCBD and even worse, the UNTUCKED DRESS SHIRTS.
The key is to pick up two. One black one blue. That will cover wearing black jeans with blue denim jacket and then wear the black denim jacket with blue jeans. And they will last a life time. All the best denim comes from Japan.
I love the Gentlemen Gazettes videos as a whole but Kyles videos especially, because i relate more to him and his style. Cant dress as formal where i live. But i love the videos that the others make such as the piece reviews or the history of clothing videos Preston makes.
This dude is the best thing that has happened to this channel in a long time, definitely makes the channel more approachable for those that aren't as fluent in style aka me. His voice is also next level
If I may ask, how many hours between all team members go into a Gentleman's Gazette video? They're always impeccably made, good job Kyle on the presentation!
I’m a denim collector and expert about fabric in denim and nothing compares a Levis LVC trucker type II in your size and a Lee 101 storm rider both in a white Levis LVC 1950 t shirt. Only thing I dislike it’s not making them in US fabric a total made. I’m from Spain and it’s the same you will eat with non spanish olive oil.
Great stuff! I actually first looked at the video and thought - 14 mins to show 8 styles really? I was hooked with the history of the jacket and everything after. Superb content, timing, and detail. I love wearing my jean jacket as a middle layer under a grey overcoat or a maroon quilted bomber.
Denim jackets look amazing with patches. Sure, it can be overbearing, but I find that a plain jacket looks boring. Patches are a nice way to spice it up and show of your personality
I agree. I've put some 60s, 70s and 80s Band Patches on mine. Bands like Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Whitesnake etc. But thats just a jacket for free time experiences of course. Not anything I'd wear on a serious appointment
I have one denim jacket with a single flag patch above the chest pocket, and i think it looks very nice. Almost like a military uniform turned rebel-casual.
Definitely but it depends on what you're going for. Gentleman's Gazette usually goes for a more formal classic look. For that a patched out denim jacket doesn't really work. I love rocking my punk jacket where it feels appropriate, but i also keep a clean one, that let's me wear it places where a full denim jacket just isn't appropriate.
I very much like your denim jacket wear advices for the men. Your type channel is needed for the men of all ages. Even on their off days one can look great! Well done. Thank you.👍😊🍀
My favorite jean jacket is a wrangler “ western “ blanket lined jacket for under 80$. Went to funeral as a boy, the old cowboy we went to see wore his for his welcome home party.
I've been following and watching this channel for almost a year now. The content is always gives more ideas and ignites ideas that I have in my closet already. The tricky thing I took inadvertently noticed was in all of the B-roll footage when giving examples of what to wear and how to assemble an ensemble or history lesson on fashion, I'd like to see more diversity within the B-roll footage just to get a visual for those who may be of a different ethnic group other than those that are typically seen in the frames. Seeing images that look like and not limited to Kyle, who by the way did a phenomenal job in this episode. I enjoy all the guys as they take turns giving background to the quality of clothing items and its material. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this matter, after all, this is one of the channels I wat h on a weekly bases. Keep up the good work guys, as I look forward to more videos with perhaps adding a few elements to your slides. Best, Wayde
I love this video! Not only did get to know how to style it best but also the history behind it and how to purchase the right one. Thanks a lot for the insight! One question though: for the last look, should the overcoat be of another shade of it’s also blue? I love this dark marine overcoat and have a dark denim jacket si I’m not sure…
Hi Kyle, just watched the video and i like very much the jacket you're wearing. Especially the color. May i have a link a link to the model of yours or something similar at least? thanks
Agreed. Not a massive fan of that look either; doesn’t look good on anyone, regardless of build. That’s a shame as the other combos all work really well.
YES! Kyle has great speaking voice and this topic is in vogue. Please put out more videos like this GG. Just re-subscribed. Don't let me down. > More vids like this!
@Dante Diamond materials and colors often have associations, partially due to traditions, partially as some materials work better in some shades than others. If you can't recognize that, you know far less than you think you do about clothes.
How do I search for a dark blue denim jacket that has that lighter fade in the some areas like the one Kyle has? All I find are jackets that are all dark blue.
Great presentation style with those oufit diagrams, and Kyle narrating. Love my black & my dark denim truckers as well as my sleveless, patch-riddled fleabag in formerly ice blue. It's like with everything else - all depending on the occasion. EDIT: Not feeling that shorts-look, though. If it's warm enough to go sockless and in shorts, it's too warm for a denim jacket, and it looks really odd in combination.
I have to admit that I have a penchant for triple denim with a jacket, jeans and western-style shirt, worn with either boots or sneakers, maybe it works because my hair is long
Yes, chelsea boots vs cowboy boots. I'd wear a denim shirt rather than jacket, when mixing with shorts. Black shoes are too formal / contrasting, no way. Thanks
As a non native speaker I love Kyle's clear voice. Easy on the ear.
Indeed, very smooth!
All the presenters on this channel speak beautifully when so many TH-camrs shout!
@@MacAutoDiag good thing they weren’t talking about the masculinity/femininity of his voice

nice try Kyle xD

Super thorough study on denim and the iconic jacket. 👍👍👍
Personally, rocking the beige khakis and the jacket till the cows come home.
Not a fan of the shirt extending below the jacket. Or the jacket & shorts combo
Ya feels forced.

Denim jacket + denim shirt + denim pants + work shoes = Jay Leno in the winter

Kyle the Style coming with another one
I have 2, both Levi’s: the classic trucker and the engineered. I still use them to this day.
The type 3 wasn’t introduced till 1962. The type 2 was introduced in 1953. Little historical error there
I need a denim jacket now!
I'm actually enjoying these videos.
I think have just been convinced to buy that trucker jacket I've been eyeing.

One of your best videos to date, cheers!
very informative. thank you for the good information.
Proper 100 percent denim. Thank You for that info Kyle.
this guy is way better than the other conductor
All the outfits were clean 👌🏿💯
That iron heart type three is my favorite. Amazing fit and worth the price.
Early 🤩🤩🤩... Btw love denim jackets❣️
May I ask what brand of the dark brown chucka boots in this video? It looks so nice 👍
I found myself sporting my Canadian tuxedo so frequently that I started buying black denim pants to ensure a contrast in colours.
Great video!!! Now, which model exactly are you wearing? for example 10:01 but I think is the entire video. Thank you!
Really great stuff guys all around. Loving the presentation!
Another great video, thanks!
I've waited for this video since I subbed. I've had my walk around denim for over 10 years. Doesn't even mention my other 7 jackets.
I always think wearing a tie with a denim jacket strange. Like wearing a tie with a cheaquered work shirt.
Replaced my old, worn out Levi's denim jacket with a new Tecovas one. Beautiful, light, comfortable and very snazzy. And I'm an old guy!
I love this video! Not only did get to know how to style it best but also the history behind it and how to purchase the right one. Thanks a lot for the insight!

10/10 video, kill't it on this one guys
Very well put together video…🔥
this is interesting for women as well - why does it have so little views? I put it to my recommendations list
Levis trucker jacket the best of the best
Just bought a denim jacket, so the perfect inspiration for me. Thank you very much!
You guys should review historical emporium! They garments are actually good quality and I’d like to know your guys opinions!
Honestly, that fit with the shorts is trying way too hard. Those shorts don't match your build and you come off as uncomfortable.
Agreed. Not a massive fan of that look either; doesn’t look good on anyone, regardless of build. That’s a shame as the other combos all work really well.
100% agree…doesn’t work on many levels
Agreed. Loafers with chino shorts a t-shirt and a denim jacket is just not a cohesive outfit and probably something a two year old would put together.
This was a very informative video. Very well done then again this channel always puts great videos.
Great review 👍what jacket are you wearing??? Thanks
Fantastic run down! Thanks!
So classy!
Can't wait for the upcoming 'Pajama Pants' episode! : P
I prefer dark denim jackets that fit well 👍
Thank you for this. I collect Levi and Wrangler
What sorts of hats are good with a denim jacket? In the past i have done dark jeans, lighter jacket, and black newsboy cap
Newsboy is great as well as flat brims small and large brimmed fedoras and lets not put ball caps in the taboo pile. Think Indiana jones with denim.
I'd say cowboyhats work best with denim. But as a european I will probably never wear one haha.
Trucker jacket + trucker hat, the names give it away already. Newsboy caps work great, too, especially with sherpa jackets - very 50s looking.
Kyle is so effortlessly cool 👍
great video! Is this a Freenote jacket?
A 80s/90s fall classic is the gray zipper hoodie under the denim jacket. Still looks great imo
Is there any chance you can have a look at casual/flanell shirts?
What brand and type of jacket is Kyle wearing in the video? It looks great.
Nice video! Thank you!
The short pants, no socks and denim jacket looks ridiculous
🖖. I wish I was young and slim again. I'd be rocking my monster bells and saddle shoes again. Yep I'm old, born in 59.
I love my tan Levis jacket - looks great with blue jeans.
I like their denim jackets but logo in the middle of the jacket throws me off from buying
@@marinko1862 the logo is a tiny tab

After looking at some of your other episodes, would this be a jacket or over shirt?
Looking forward to comments on this

I confess that I'm not a fan of denim clothes. But the video is great.

Do you have a link to that exact jacket? I love the color
Awesome, now the corduroy jacket please...
Great advice!
One biggest reasons why I bought light brown denim jacket so I never have worry about Canadian tuxedo. Light brown goes just about anything.
brown denim feels weird though. Better to go for corduroy then imo. Or moleskin, super underrated.
@@36424567254 it does not feel weirded is just used different coloring for it. Same can be said for black denim.
@Dante Diamond materials and colors often have associations, partially due to traditions, partially as some materials work better in some shades than others. If you can't recognize that, you know far less than you think you do about clothes.
@Gentleman’s Gazette Kyle, do you happen to know the brand of camel coat in the video? Thank you.
it was the type ii was introduced in 1953, the type iii in 1962

What about black jeans and black jacket?
