Years ago watched a documentary about makeup that showed a warehouse with all the same makeup. One side of the aisle they labeled high-end and the other side was drugstore. It was all the same parent company. It really opened my eyes to what I was buying. Drugstore is just as good as high-end. We are a very name brand oriented society.

From a French girl: please pronounce mauve as you want! We French speakers usually pronounce mauve as it would rhyme with "stove", but many people from the south of France (Marseilles for example) say "mov", and nobody cares 😉! Words travel from a language to another, and begin to live a new life, with a different pronunciation, and sometimes a new meaning! And they contribute to enrich the vocabulary 😊

I mean, a couple of other TH-camrs are always promoting their brushes, there's one or two who have their own lipstick and eyeshadow colors, and there's a few others promoting their false eyelashes. Wet N Wild is on such a roll with their complexion products lately. I opt to purchase cruelty-free and often reach for this line over higher end options. I just got my latest Ulta order and picked up the original PhotoFocus foundation for $3.49 (on sale, of course)! And it is sooooo good! I use a damp sponge to apply and this one looks better than some foundations 10x the price. I completely agree about their Tinted Hydrator also . The stick foundation is very good, as is the Incognito concealer, although I'd like to see a hydrating version of it a la E.L.F. Camo Concealer.

The NYC brow pen changed my life. I swear. 😂 My brow color is "invisible" so it's always been a journey for me. Tried several pens and none gave me confidence, even after really giving it my best and practicing. Then one day I saw someone (can't remember who🙁) raving about it so I went and picked it up, opened to try in the car as I always do, and immediately got it right. I sat there and effortlessly gave myself the brows I've been trying for eons.
TL;DR- If you're afraid of brow pens but want to make it work, highly recommend NYX Lift & Snatch.

There are two main reasons that drugstore makeup is different prices at different places. The first is that EVERYTHING is usually marked up at convenience stores, such as CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid. Products at these stores, especially skincare and makeup, usually cost more because it’s literally convenient.
The second reason is that different stores actually have different contracts with drugstore makeup companies. Walmart and Target can negotiate lower prices than Ulta because it’s very beneficial to the brands to have their products at Walmart and Target. They get a LOT of exposure that way. And so those big stores can sell the products at a lower price. The standard price for drugstore is usually what you’ll find at either the brand site or Ulta.
I hope that makes sense. There can definitely be other factors as well, but these are the main two.

For most of my life, I was told it was pronounced just like "taupe." I worked in fashion and cosmetics, and that was considered the correct way to say it. Only 2 short weeks ago, a friend of mine posted something on Facebook about the "American" way of saying it, so I used Google and found that French/American difference. I will always say the long "o" version, since I've been saying it that way for nearly 50 years. I'm glad though, that there really is no right or wrong way!

I love the discussion about how to pronounce mauve! Your explanation is exactly what I would want to know. I like pronouncing things correctly and am a curious and interested person. I would like someone to (kindly, gently, with good humour) correct my pronunciation, but I know not everyone appreciates that. Anyway, I decided that if Tim Gunn pronounced it the French way, then that was enough of a reason to change how I said it, but no judgment if anyone else chooses otherwise. It seems to be one of those foreign words that have made it into the (North American) English lexicon and now has an alternate, correct pronunciation. Fascinating stuff...

L.a. colors also has a terrific eyeshadow primer with a little pigment and matte finish but sticky enough to hold shimmers on the lid. My favorite lip gloss is also LA Colors the holographic in the color heavenly it's such a beautiful nude. You can use it over matte liquid lipsticks and the combination holds all day. The high shine formula is the same, it's just a metallic finish instead

Yes! LA Colors blushes and bronzers have always been in my life for the past 10 yrs or so. Love this bronzer too, perfect rosy bronze! There was a time where I could only afford dollar tree makeup, and LA Colors always came through, and still does!! 🎉❤💃🏼🥂

Wow, Jen, I love this video! I've used the foundation and eyeshadow and love them both. I always get compliments when I wear Essence eyeshadow. I love the mauve and taupe pans; both look amazing on blue eyes, IMO. I'll have to give the Got 2 Be Glued, a long with the other products you mention, a try. Thanks again!

I recommend W7 oh so sensitive concealer in light cool it's for fair skin and it's medium coverage doesn't smell at all and Is awesome 👍😎 as it's cruelty free and vegan and only 4.99 at Chemist Warehouse in Melbourne Australia 🌏 I'm sure it's cheaper in America. Also the Australis Girl Boss gloss glitz lip gloss and in the colour My Boo it was at Kmart for 6.99 on sale but it's under 10 and is very long lasting and not drying.

As a black woman the got2b gel is the only one that can slick down my edges although it needs some help with that so it seemed like a no brainer to use on my pretty big and unruly eyebrows. I mean it's hair too at the end of the day😂
