For oily skinned folks- the All about Matte white powder is the most mattifying powder I have ever found. I only use it in my T-zone (never under the eye) and only in the warmer months. If you use it when you're not as oily it can look very powdery and crepe but for those times when you need it nothing works better.

I have one disagreement and only because I use this in a very specific way. The All About Matte powder is absolutely kinda white, but it is fantastic at lightening any makeup that is too deep on my fair skin tone. If my blush or bronzer is too much, I take a sheer powder brush and lightly dust it over anything I don’t like on my face. Since I’m adding it over a color, it doesn’t look too white or chalky on me. I can also use it on my oily t-zone later in the day as a touch up. It holds up under setting spray too if I want to spritz later in the day.
Back in 2016 I walked into ulta looking for a highlighter, not sure if I would even like highlighter at all. I asked an employee and she suggested the essence highlighter and described it as a matte highlighter. She was right and it was perfect to start out with. Essence is hit or miss and it makes me hesitant to try things, the super low price helps though.

Pure Nude Highlighter is the only highlighter that passes the phone flashlight glitter test, at any price range. And it has such a sheer base that it works on my medium/tan skin. BTW the Sunlighter (deeper) version is not as good; it's thicker. Love both powder blush formulas too!
I wish Essence would bring back their mosaic bronzer. I used that as eyeshadow, and the colors in it were perfect for a natural eyelook. You're right about their tube lipsticks....they are fabulous, and so reasonable!
I feel like I’m the only person who does not like the essence mascaras 🙃 I have only tried one (I think it was the green one, can’t remember) but I hated it so much it made me not want to try any others 😂 guess I might have to try a different one!
The brow gel is amazing, the dark brown is a perfect cool tone for me. And the pure nude highlighter is my favorite eye shadow base! It’s creamy and not glittery, perfect on its own or with shadow on top!

PS: If you need a blank-it-out, tone-it-down powder to apply over mistakes, the Essence Contouring Duo powder in Lighter has a nice pale, matte vanilla shade that works really well. I use the brown contour shade in this kit all the time, but I also keep it handy in my purse for touchups with that vanilla shade. Thanks again!

I have Brighten Up Banana powder and it’s one of my “meh” products too. However it’s nice with a wispy brush to clean up the jawline (like if your bronzer went down too much)
I love their rose-pinky-glittery nail polish! It’s super inexpensive, lasts really well, and is very flattering with my fair, cool skintone. I have used many, many bottles, and will continue to repurchase it until it is one day discontinued. 💅🏻

I had the complete opposite experience. I'm not crazy oily, but really sweaty, and allergies give me watery eyes, along with a lot of tears this year. This was the best at not flaking, not transferring, it was just totally perfect.
I use the nude of the extreme lasting eye pencil everyday,‘I’m obsessed. It’s beautiful, lasts way longer than the other high end ones I use && it’s like $4 goes on sale for $2 at Ulta. My DREAMMMM is they add tons of colors in that range!!🙏🏼🤞🏾
I’ve really only tried the Pure Nude Highlighter and the Make Me Brow, but this video has me wanting to try a few more, finally! Will definitely be purchasing essence on my next trip to Ulta! P.S. we have the same text tone and every time I think it’s me getting a text 😅

The kissed by the light made me look like the tin man. LoL. Love their eye shadow palettes but they are pretty powdery. Love the green princess mascara. It takes a little effort to get it off. For the price point, I think it could stand next to high end mascaras. I need to try the purple. Thank you for taking the time to review this Essence brand. The prices are phenomenal!!!
I meant to tell you awhile ago about the Essence eyeliner pencil! It lasts on me so much better than the Sephora liner. Although that one is good too! I tightline with the Essence one and it stays put!
That Crayola style eyeliner IS so bad! I actually returned it even though it was only around $4. It is just not smooth or pigmented. Even the ulta employee agreed with me and said its bad
I have always been sad that the Lash Princess (green) smudges on me and I don't wear waterproof mascara. There are plenty of other mascaras that don't smudge and aren't waterproof. I love the lip liner and lipstick combo. Will have to pick it up!

You compared the essence extreme long lasting eye pencil to the Makeup by Mario pencil. I always wanted to try the Makeup by mario pencil but the price was ridiculous that I never splurged because my favorite go to is Wet n wild kohl pencil. The essence extreme 24 hour eye pencil went on clearance. I bought like 5 of each of the but first espresso and the black pencil. They are good but they are a good third compared to my wet n wild pencil.
I have the This Is Nude Lipstick in “Legendary”. It is the most beautiful, perfect, not-too-pink, not-too-brown nude. It goes with any liner and any look. Probably the most phenomenal lipstick I own.

I’m really glad that you mentioned the blushes cause I’ve been wanting to try them (I broke my shimmery pink blush from wet n wild that was limited edition) so I need something similar. I’ve also been on the hunt for a black eyeliner that doesn’t transfer from my waterline to the bottom. I saw the essence one and put it in my Amazon wishlist so now I’m definitely gonna buy it!

In my humble opinion, the essence lash princess mascara is my holy grail! I do suggest the waterproof one because the normal one is not budge proof. The lash princess eyeliner is actually good for the price. Yes it has a cheap applicator but for me, I'm able to line my eyes pretty well. You have to apply it twice for full opacity but it works and doesn't transfer or smudge or me! I like the pure nude highlighter, it's give a glow from within look. I like it for simple everyday wear but do prefer a more blinding highlighter like the wet n wild ones!😊 I really want to try the blushes but I haven't seen them in Toronto stores yet🥺 I love watching your videos Jess! ❤

I LOVE the this is nude line. I have Freaky, Charming, and Happy. Love them all. Essence is probably my number one affordable brand. And that 16 hr camo powder foundation is the absolute best on my mature skin. I used one up completely in 7 months and bought another.

essence has some real hits and some real misses. i love that they’re affordable, easily accessible where i live, cruelty-free and european. they don’t always have the greatest quality in every product and packaging, but they’re a fun, light-hearted brand for expression and enjoyment of makeup. my faves have been the baby got blush cream blush sticks, false lash effect lash princess mascara (green one), newer eyeshadow palettes, eyeliners, lip balms, clear extreme shine lip gloss, the blush powder blushes, glow serum primer, new brow like a boss clear brow gel and the kissed by the light highlighter with the blush stripes through. love this series! ❤
My favorite Essence products are: - Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara - Pure Nude Highlighter - Nothing Compares To Nude Eyeshadow Palette - Coral Me Maybe Eyeshadow Palette - Essence Keep Me Covered Long Lasting Foundation -> wore a long time, did keep it on a good amount of time but only con the shade was too yellowish on me until I bought the LA Girl Pro Pigment Mixing Foundation in Blue and that helped neutralized it.
Currently wearing bye bye panda eyes and it’s definitely not the BEST I’ve ever tried, but as someone who loves cheap mascaras, I love it. Very valid points though, you can tell the price by the quality for sure.
I use the Kissed by the light illuminator as an all over glow finishing powder, of course in a very light layer, perhaps give that a try? I'm also curious to see a comparison of the newer Make me glow baked highlighter and the Pure nude 👀

Nice to see an actual contour color. So many times bronzer is shown as contour. Bronzer isnt contour. Way to go Essence

- Essence Keep Me Covered Long Lasting Foundation -> wore a long time, did keep it on a good amount of time but only con the shade was too yellowish on me until I bought the LA Girl Pro Pigment Mixing Foundation in Blue and that helped neutralized it.

I also love that eyeliner in "But First, Espresso." They have another color that is gorgeous, too -- it's black with very subtle sparkles in it!

Currently wearing bye bye panda eyes and it’s definitely not the BEST I’ve ever tried, but as someone who loves cheap mascaras, I love it. Very valid points though, you can tell the price by the quality for sure.

I use the Kissed by the light illuminator as an all over glow finishing powder, of course in a very light layer, perhaps give that a try?

The Lush princess mascara had a very bad eye alergy for me. I was so excited to try it to be so disappointed. Does anyone else had that problem???
Yes! I’ve had a reaction to all essence mascaras. Bummer!!
@brookewillis5501 the cream that helped me is hydrocortisone 1% lotion. I still use it sometimes when my eye lids flaking or just too dry.
