For oily skinned folks- the All about Matte white powder is the most mattifying powder I have ever found. I only use it in my T-zone (never under the eye) and only in the warmer months. If you use it when you're not as oily it can look very powdery and crepe but for those times when you need it nothing works better.

I have one disagreement and only because I use this in a very specific way. The All About Matte powder is absolutely kinda white, but it is fantastic at lightening any makeup that is too deep on my fair skin tone. If my blush or bronzer is too much, I take a sheer powder brush and lightly dust it over anything I don’t like on my face. Since I’m adding it over a color, it doesn’t look too white or chalky on me. I can also use it on my oily t-zone later in the day as a touch up. It holds up under setting spray too if I want to spritz later in the day.
The brow gel is amazing, the dark brown is a perfect cool tone for me. And the pure nude highlighter is my favorite eye shadow base! It’s creamy and not glittery, perfect on its own or with shadow on top!
I wish Essence would bring back their mosaic bronzer. I used that as eyeshadow, and the colors in it were perfect for a natural eyelook. You're right about their tube lipsticks....they are fabulous, and so reasonable!
Back in 2016 I walked into ulta looking for a highlighter, not sure if I would even like highlighter at all. I asked an employee and she suggested the essence highlighter and described it as a matte highlighter. She was right and it was perfect to start out with. Essence is hit or miss and it makes me hesitant to try things, the super low price helps though.
Thank you for helping us meander through the different drugstore brands. I also love the pure nude highlighter. It’s a must have for us mature ladies who still enjoy a little sheen, without being too much.

essence has some real hits and some real misses. i love that they’re affordable, easily accessible where i live, cruelty-free and european. they don’t always have the greatest quality in every product and packaging, but they’re a fun, light-hearted brand for expression and enjoyment of makeup. my faves have been the baby got blush cream blush sticks, false lash effect lash princess mascara (green one), newer eyeshadow palettes, eyeliners, lip balms, clear extreme shine lip gloss, the blush powder blushes, glow serum primer, new brow like a boss clear brow gel and the kissed by the light highlighter with the blush stripes through. love this series! ❤
Pure Nude Highlighter is the only highlighter that passes the phone flashlight glitter test, at any price range. And it has such a sheer base that it works on my medium/tan skin. BTW the Sunlighter (deeper) version is not as good; it's thicker. Love both powder blush formulas too!

PS: If you need a blank-it-out, tone-it-down powder to apply over mistakes, the Essence Contouring Duo powder in Lighter has a nice pale, matte vanilla shade that works really well. I use the brown contour shade in this kit all the time, but I also keep it handy in my purse for touchups with that vanilla shade. Thanks again!
Essence is a find! It ranks right up there with high end products in many ways at such a low cost. I tried the 6 pan palettes and fell in love! Bought them all! They are my go to colors. Same with the blushes. Gorgeous! My cousin just turned 16 and I have been her “makeup fairy godmother”. We watched this video first and then went into Ulta and for around $100, I was able to get her everything a girl could desire from the Essence collection. She looked elegant! They were going to Disney on a family vacation and we worked with the Essence makeup to get her application under 10 minutes. She did it! 7 min 55 seconds using ALL Essence products. I do believe it’s an unsung hero. Please keep us posted on any new releases in this line. 💗💗
I use the nude of the extreme lasting eye pencil everyday,‘I’m obsessed. It’s beautiful, lasts way longer than the other high end ones I use && it’s like $4 goes on sale for $2 at Ulta. My DREAMMMM is they add tons of colors in that range!!🙏🏼🤞🏾
I choose the pure nude over every single one of my high end or other highlights. I could truly donate the rest but I have a tendency to hoard makeup though I’ve gotten so much better && condensed a TON, giving people a bunch of stuff that made the as excited as it did me at one time. 🥰

The kissed by the light made me look like the tin man. LoL. Love their eye shadow palettes but they are pretty powdery. Love the green princess mascara. It takes a little effort to get it off. Hi Jessica....I have been having the hardest time finding a mascara that won't flake/smudge on me....Even the Tarte tubing has started flaking on me. I have been watching you for years and have always heard you talk about the Volume Stylist mascara and finally tried it yesterday for the first time. Oh my goodness!!!!!!! It went on like a dream and after 13 hours of wear, no smudging or flaking.....Thank you so much...I found my new mascara 🙂
I meant to tell you awhile ago about the Essence eyeliner pencil! It lasts on me so much better than the Sephora liner. Although that one is good too! I tightline with the Essence one and it stays put!
In my humble opinion, the essence lash princess mascara is my holy grail! I do suggest the waterproof one because the normal one is not budge proof. The lash princess eyeliner is actually good for the price. Yes it has a cheap applicator but for me, I'm able to line my eyes pretty well. You have to apply it twice for full opacity but it works and doesn't transfer or smudge or me! I like the pure nude highlighter, it's give a glow from within look. I like it for simple everyday wear but do prefer a more blinding highlighter like the wet n wild ones!😊 I really want to try the blushes but I haven't seen them in Toronto stores yet🥺 I love watching your videos Jess! ❤

I took my niece to Ulta and got her a complete set of makeup to use daily. It was ALL Essence! We just practiced doing 10 minute makeup with her for an upcoming Disney trip!!! She got it down to 7 min 55 seconds!

I have the essence lash princess waterproof eyeliner and I love it! BUT I just do a quick line above my lashes and that's it. Just to make them look a little fuller. It does not layer well at all but it does stay put until you take it off. But again, I do a thin line and that's it.❤

Those Essence princess mascaras are the best thing I've ever tried, and I've tried mid and luxury as well. They're all 4 perfect. I wore the waterproof one (which I've had for like 2 years) to my grandmother's funeral and wake in the hot LA sun, and there was no transfer despite the tears and sweat. Highly recommend!
My favorite Essence products are: - Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara - Pure Nude Highlighter - Nothing Compares To Nude Eyeshadow Palette - Coral Me Maybe Eyeshadow Palette - Essence Keep Me Covered Long Lasting Foundation -> wore a long time, did keep it on a good amount of time but only con the shade was too yellowish on me until I bought the LA Girl Pro Pigment Mixing Foundation in Blue and that helped neutralized it.
Love this video! I am currently wearing the pure nude blush in cool coral, love it! The ONLY highlighter I own is their pure nude in be my highlight. I unfortunately had to stop using the lash princess mascara bc it started to flake on me.

I have Brighten Up Banana powder and it’s one of my “meh” products too. However it’s nice with a wispy brush to clean up the jawline (like if your bronzer went down too much)

I also love their blushes ❤️ they are so easy to use. I love the lip colour you are wearing however I am not a fan how it shows every line on the lips…I feel it ages the face.

Those Essence princess mascaras are the best thing I've ever tried, and I've tried mid and luxury as well. They're all 4 perfect. I wore the waterproof one (which I've had for like 2 years) to my grandmother's funeral and wake in the hot LA sun, and there was no transfer despite the tears and sweat. Highly recommend!

- Essence Keep Me Covered Long Lasting Foundation -> wore a long time, did keep it on a good amount of time but only con the shade was too yellowish on me until I bought the LA Girl Pro Pigment Mixing Foundation in Blue and that helped neutralized it.
Love this video! I am currently wearing the pure nude blush in cool coral, love it! The ONLY highlighter I own is their pure nude in be my highlight. I unfortunately had to stop using the lash princess mascara bc it started to flake on me.
Currently wearing bye bye panda eyes and it’s definitely not the BEST I’ve ever tried, but as someone who loves cheap mascaras, I love it. Very valid points though, you can tell the price by the quality for sure.

I use the Kissed by the light illuminator as an all over glow finishing powder, of course in a very light layer, perhaps give that a try?

I have Brighten Up Banana powder and it’s one of my “meh” products too. However it’s nice with a wispy brush to clean up the jawline (like if your bronzer went down too much)

Essence hello good stuff glow serum primer is amazing on dry skin and I believe is a dupe for glow recipe's watermelon serum. Love these video's, would love a L'Oréal, Maybelline or Nyx one too xxx
