I consider my mom a pioneer of homeschooling. She quit teaching in the early 90's to teach me and my older siblings. We're all collage graduates and happily married. My brother, who's high functioning autistic, graduated with his phd in pharmacy. He wasn't even diagnosed till he was an adult, and the doctor looked at all the tests and said "Credit to your mom, because if you hadn't been raised the way you were, you wouldn't be so high functioning." He's the head pharmacist at his pharmacy

Homeschooling is so great!! I feel like overall, homeschooling has been much more relaxing for me than public school would be.
Teaching From Rest by Sarah MacKenzie is a fabulous book that every homeschooling Mom should read every year. It talks about finding peace by bringing your meager loaves-and-fishes offering to the table and surrendering the rest.

Incredible video. Thanks Aimee! This was very helpful because I'm in a strange season in my life. Everything is out of balance. Trying to listen for God's voice on my next steps to take!... have a wonderful day Aimee!

Homeschooling/ POTS mom here.🙋‍♀️ some days are very challenging but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! You can synergize your everyday activities and school. Homeschooling is not like it used to be at all! There’s so many options. I think the hardest part is missing out on so many activities with the co-ops that we are a part of. The enemy always wants us to see what we are missing but then I remember that there is always joy in every situation and the Lord isn’t going to take anything away that He won’t replace with something way better and he’s proven that time and again though my dysautonomia/ homeschooling journey!

Teach me your ways! I struggle to spend enough time with my kids, I feel so blah so much. I know right now in life I am physically incapable of homeschooling, but I want to work up to being able to do that so bad. Luckily we live in a very good school district and most of the teachers share similar values to us. This last year was out first year in public schools and it ended up going pretty ok. I have a 6 year old, 4 year old, and 2 year old.

I loved the turn you took with this!! I find myself feeling so overwhelmed by being a mom, and naturally think I need "me time", but often I actually just need more intentional and meaningful, structured time with my kids. I really relate. So happy to hear you're homeschooling!! Made me so happy to hear how excited you are for this. We homeschool too-- my oldest is 5, but we started early as well. I am sad because we don't get to do all the nature walks and field trips and extracurriculars and projects I had hoped for since my illness, but we nature journal the birds and flowers and bugs we find near our home. Kids don't need big and elaborate, I realized those expectations were mine, not theirs. I love the flexibility of homeschool and am so thankful for it. It's the most fulfilling thing I've done. So excited for you and your family ❤

Thank you for this video. It was what I needed as I'm currently feeling stuck with work like it's getting too hard with how unwell I tend to get. And I keep feeling like it won't get better until I can retire and stop working, which really isn't helping me now.

I am in the midst of getting a diagnosis for a sickness(s) that i have had my whole life. Finding out that my pattern of being passionate about a new job or thing and 3 to 6 months in I am so burnt out and have to walk away and find something new. Now I know it's my sickness and the way I get so stressed about normal things people deal with on a daily basis effortlessly. I am not lazy, and flakey, I push myself to my breaking point and crash. That is something I am working on while starting a new job 😅

Loved this. Thank you for sharing. Have you read the book Refuse to Choose? It was so helpful to me in understanding things like how I need extra stimulation creatively or why I leave projects etc. Between myself and my 5 kiddos (only 3 at home) we have 12 auto immune diseases. Homeschooling has been an amazing blessing to us. We are in our 15th year now. I share lots about managing homeschooling and chronic illness in the Australian homeschooling community.
Anyway, just wanted to say I really enjoyed your sharing.
    Lusi x

I haven't read that book, but it sounds like something I would love. I'll see if my library has it. ♥️
