I am not saying that this thing is worth 99$ for most people but such a tear down shows how much more there is to a product than just the mAh capacity. It’s all about finding the right balance for maximum efficiency. Given that this product is pretty much as big and heavy as it realistically can be I really don’t see how Apple could have put in a higher capacity battery without dumbing it down (removing NFC and logic for proper system recognition) or compromising on its ability to dissipate heat.
I have the MagSafe Battery Pack for my iPhone 13 Pro, I use it more for keeping my phone topped at 90% rather than charging. I use it more to extend my battery life than to charge it.
Wow. Truly amazing. People only look at Mah and everything else is forgotten and much much more important. I do not regret buying two of these It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the OtterBox 5k magsafe battery bank. It has mag safe on the back as well and the battery can charge with mag safe.
I bought this battery and was honestly a little disappointed at the performance given the price. But now I feel a little better knowing that it’s well engineered.
To be fair it actually is pretty complicated, I own one, the reviewers got its capacity ratings/ full charge percentage very wrong, it deliberately keeps the phone within 80% - 90%
I haven't been in contact with one of these since I have an iPhone 11 Pro - But could it be coming from the phone's speaker? Again, totalllyyy guessing here since I have no context. Would that be impossible?
Wow! That's probably the most sophisticated, extremely well built, over engineered power bank out there. I wonder if it's underpriced compared to the competition for what it's capable of. Loved the video.
Is this MagSafe Battery pack serviceable? Or a disposable gadget? Also, is it safe to just leave this battery plugged in? My use is mostly as a car dock and occasionally taking it with me. I am thinking to just leave it plugged in and dock my phone on and off.
Now i understand why its like 3x more expensive than Anker or Baseus or Ugreen. Those magsafe battery packs looks like trash when opened. But this one has keen attention to details. Heat dissipation back and front! You cannot see them on these cheaper magsafe. Plus, Apple advertises the real capacity of the Magsafe. Unlike the rands I mention, they advertise 5000mAh when you can only get half of it.
Very informative video. would highly appreciate if you could share the thickness of battery and plate which carries the coil and circuitry along with the magnets. thanks
Five watts is just fine, the battery pack is meant to be mobile. I sure as hell would not want my phone to be burning up my pocket thank you very much.
because this MagSafe charger has more complicated functions than Anker one, such as checking the charge in your iPhone, optimized battery charging, charging the battery via iPhone, etc.
Thanks for the detailed sharing! But I still wonder how they control the start and stop of charging. The inductive coil detects if a phone is attached and I don't see a cable or something run to the circuit board from that...
Pity you didn't check the charging power when connected to a power supply. Talks are, it can do the true 15 Watt MagSafe 'Fast charge' what nearly no 3rd party charger does. A good tear down though, thumbs up.
When the battery pack was connected to power supply and charge the iPhone at the same time. The max power we tested is around 21W (Using 96W power adapter).
You can have all the raw materials needed for this but you can never make it by yourself, though indeed apple products was overpriced and full of shit.
What a fabulous video, I certainley did not expect that amount of detail. I was an avid Apple Fan boy, but deserted the brand due to appalling battery life of their products. Sad to see they are still continuing the trend, as I would love to go back to their products. The capacity of this pack, for me is virtually useless and not worth the money. Very sad, I wish they would wake up! I've subscribed and looking forward to watching more! Thank You!
For $99 US this charger should be able to be charged with a QI wireless charger and not only by plugging a lightning cable into it. Apple is ripping customers off with this battery pack that can't even charge a IPhone 12 from 0-50%. Your lucky if you get 20% battery charge from this Apple battery pack. This is horribly useless.
Great job! Wasn't expecting this much detail on the individual logicboard chips!
Glad it was helpful!😁
Nicely done. Love the detail.
Hope it's helpful.
The components inside of this battery pack makes other battery pack looks like toys. Thank you for sharing.
Honestly, the level of knowledge and detail for all the components was so good, it made me subscribe. Such a good video.
Thanks!😁

Wow most people like me would have thought it’s just a large battery inside and the charging rings.
No wonder it’s expensive

Why taking so much hassle? Your phone's going to get obsolete anyway. Enjoy it fully while you can.
@@niaz.shovon Well, yeah, eventually. Maybe in 2028 if Apple keeps up their trend of supporting phones on the latest OS for 5+ years.
Wow. Truly amazing.

2:47 almost got me with the "That will be all for today's video"... Tricky!
ha ha~🤣
I’m guessing the loose magnet ring is what gives it that distinct click sound?
This video is clearly ‘for educational purposes’. Thanks
Still trying to figure out how Apple achieved that clicking sound when the MagSafe batter pack connects!
I haven't been in contact with one of these since I have an iPhone 11 Pro - But could it be coming from the phone's speaker? Again, totalllyyy guessing here since I have no context. Would that be impossible?
I do not think it comes from speaker. The reason that I can guess is because the magnets and the little gap between white circle and your phone.
Wow! That's probably the most sophisticated, extremely well built, over engineered power bank out there. I wonder if it's underpriced compared to the competition for what it's capable of. Loved the video.

Great teardown with incredible detail. Do you plan on a similar teardown of the Anker MagSafe battery pack sometime as a comparison?
Yes, perhaps in the future videos.

Love it…the layout of the internal design looks like apples hq !

Wow.. didn’t know this simple product packs so much, I think I’ll get one
yep, decide according to your own needs
I would not got one, for $100 it’s a rip-off if it only has 2000 Mah you can buy much much larger capacity on Amazon for significantly cheaper.
Where did you get that handy and stylish PCB ruler on your desk?
It is designed and created by ourselves and will be available for sale in our Amazon store in the near future.
So it is 2920 mAh in total ? But i saw i charges 12 mini to 90 percent. Which must be around 2000 mAh
The conversion efficiency will vary depending on the situation, it is impossible to be 100%
The battery makes a clicking sound when attached. Is there an integrated button? Its weird.

thats part of the reason why I want to get this specific wireless charger. I think it can do the 15w magsafe charge when plugged in, too.

So the total Capacity is roughly 2000 MaH?!
if you calculated it by 5V, roughly 2200 mAh. so the Wh will be a better unit, which is around 11.13Wh.

Cool!
Imo, there’s a decent amount of empty space above the battery, I feel like Apple could have put a larger battery in personally
A bigger battery fits into an iPhone
