To be honest as someone who designs the PCBs for powerbanks amongst other things I'd say that the Apple one is massively overengineered (why would you need an ARM device in BGA package?! all the RF sheilding enclosures etc. - it's just crazy) the fake one doesn't look too bad, could do with the thermistor connecting for thermal protection of the battery but overall they just need to improve the magnet strength and housing durability.
Yeah that's true. The original one is extremely overengineered. I seriously wonder why Apple does this. Maybe because they actually want their electronics to look crazy complicated. It is 100% not a functional requirement. But the same is also true for many of Apple's Lightning adapters/dongles and their Air Pods Max. They too are crazy overengineered. Apple seems to really love BGAs for everything. The more, the better.
@@detroxx56784 They probably just want it to break easier when you drop it so you buy another. Also as it's impossible to spot a cracked solder joint under those BGAs without x-ray inspection it makes diagnosing and repairing them a challenge!
Because they are going to add Find my on the battery pack - so if any other iPhone will use it, you will get the location or the battery pack. You can software lock as well, so the battery pack is un-useable
Original one supports over 20W of power when charging the phone at 15W and the battery pack itself. I assume it would melt in this tiny enclosure without very efficient and heat-resistant components. The fake battery pack only deals with 6W so its board can look like any other 5W charger boards.

Poor circuit. I bought one and tested it. Only charged my iPhone 12 mini 37% so I looked inside to understand why. It stops charging when the cell reaches 3.7V!!! That is not 0% for a Li-ion battery which the designers of this dont seem to understand.
@@prz98 yeah but it has more watt hours. 18.5wh to the orignal 11wh bat. But then the quality of lithiun battery is also a factor determining its rechargeability and life cycle.

Yes, wireless fake charger doesn't affect the phone, it just affect themselves.
