The bottles were great, especially the Hutchison with the stopper. But, the sudden appearance of Duckman, then the promise of giving him the phone number of the duck you found, had me almost choke on my coconut water laughing! 😄

It's not easy to dig for bottles, privies, or dumps where I am in Texas, but I've learned so much from those guys. So crazy that someone like me looks forward to an antique bottle auction, but I do! I've got some things my dad and I collected over the years. A carved and drilled soapstone chest plate? Beautifully crafted. A mill stone the size of a sledgehammer head. Several points, twisters, scrapers etc. Bottles of all sorts. I used to love doing the seaching. I'm banged up and that makes it tough.

Brandon and I have definitely talked about that! Lots of the dump here is in creek banks and there's lots of legal issues with that, so we'll have to try and find some private property and get permission!

Another scarce Florida straight side Coke per Bill Porters' fifth edition Coca Cola bottle checklist. Nice score on those straight sides. That tube insulator was designed so you could drill a hole in a 2 by 4 and push that in to the hole to insulate the wires from that flammable wood.
Sweet finds! I'm going to have my first bottle hunt video up this Friday from a hunt on Saturday. I found a med from as late as 1874! I'm still on cloud 9!

The piece you thought was a pipe is actually used to insulate wires through walls. I found some at a Concentration Camp in Poland years ago. So it was a common thing back many years ago.
The ceramic piece is an insulator, they still use them in street lights today, I’ve got a few and they make fantastic stones to use for sharpening knives

My dad retired from there and, before OSHA, I worked summers with him on the truck delivering, working on the bottling line when they were behind, etc. In high school I load trucks at night, started at $.90 and hour and I had money to burn.

The creek water is almost always clear. Most of the rivers are kinda high and dark right now :(
