  • Finally! The only parts on this DKW that have NOT been replaced or rebuilt is the roof, and transmission. Everything else needed work, the floorboards, the engine, the electrical system, the entire fuel system, the wheels, tires, brakes, lights, seats, paint......on and on..... hooo boy! , the works! It really feels good to finally get some closure by driving it around the block for fun. It is suprisingly spunky to drive. What a blast!

had one to play with for a while belonging to Bob Addis of NY, his was a yellow, and hadnt run in years. I found the 3 cylinder 2 stroke a breeze to work on and fun to drive. One of the features was the freewheeling transmission we found by accident when trying to push start the beast! Then moving the interior lever back gave it a shove, popped the clutch and it took off. Smooth ride, and 2 stroke sound what a unique auto...steveg.

Super cool! Love it. You saved it. You should be proud. Not many people have one of those. Thanks ( Ron from NY)

There can't be many cars that sound better than a 3-cyl DKW. Lovely looking too.Hope you can finish this car as original as possible.

I relate to this. That laugh at the end sums a lot of emotions. I know. I love these cars

4 on the tree Ken, it's a 2stroke, three sets of points on the crank, no dizzy, simple little engine

My favorite of all your videos this year... right up there with the Nash Rambler back-bumper cam for great sound.
Interesting gear pattern, too. I thought it was a 3-speed-- until you shifted into fourth!

There can be no mistake that the engine is still running when it is idling. The bubbling popping sounds let's you know it is ready to go.

Stock 900cc DKW engines make 42-45 hp, this one is a little modified with more compression, coated pistons, and hotter coils, it may make 47-50 hp. If I put a two barrell carb on and some tuned exhaust I may get up to 65-70 hp. We'll see!

Sounds just like like my 2017 Hyundai Tucson Sport 1.6 Turbo with a tuner-chip installed. :) Nice car man!

LOL...That sound brings back fun memories. I learned to drive in the Munga. FYI...DKW is German for "Das Kleine Wunder" .. The Little Wonder.
