    Great energy and clarity. I’m like you except I chose to sell my primary home (way too many restrictions and laws that make it stressful to live there plus the exorbitant property taxes), but kept other low stress properties. I just returned from Thailand. Costs are 20% of my costs here, plus I fell fully alive, vibrant, engaged with my life, learning fascinating things every moment and making many new friends, and a healthier diet and lifestyle. 🙏🏼

      You might get chicken rice for 30bt but that’s not a meal, a pad kra pao moo with rice is a decent meal and that’s 70bt in t21, large phad thai gai at the night market is 60/70 and that will feed a big guy!

Soi whitehouse Danish bar is a must do, eat like a horse 160bht, sunday night roast is a 10/10. , then you have the rompho further down. Plus the bars. Good luck!

Last year, I lived in the Jomtien area for 6 months and my monthly budget was $3K and that's with companionship with a regular Thai lady for 3x a week without buying any LDs and barfines. I did not eat any western food due way more expensive and been eating Thai food in the market. In my early 50's now, I was planning to retire but I changed my mind in the very last second and back to work again in CA, started from scratch. Will do this again, next year.

    Okay so let me ask one question. Whole 'FIRE' movement, is a little bit overhyped for me. While it may seems a dream-lifestyle to someone who worked whole life and saw nothing else - this is in fact living without purpose. How are you dealing with this? Im at my mid 30s, left my corpo job to travel. Did this for 5monts. Since December 2023 I visited Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia... and feeling terribly exhausted, stopped enjoying it, feeling bored and tired. Need to get back to home right now. How you maintaining this kind of lifestyle? Maybe you can make one video about that? Thanks

    This is exactly the info i was looking for. Hotel tips, dental tips. As we age dental issues pop up also and the cost in the U.S. will kill you. In any country it is in the dentist's hands not always the diploma from a well known university. For molars best to go with gold and no computer. Also key is a good lab with good technicians. With cad-cam these days a dentist can do things anywhere.
    I presume things are sanitary where you go. These days how to keep things sanitary is common knowledge and most dentists train in well known centers. Sometimes pain comes up and just goes away. They did right. Food tips are always good. I like the room at the food restaurant . I could live there long term no prob. Do you have a card from the healthcare company i presume? They repay you after you pay with the Visa? Too many questions. That is a very good price for healthcare. Thanks!

      @iskandartaib 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RetireandGo There are lots of long-term immigrants with residency permits. I dunno.. I think they're loaded terms. The first time I came across this was an article about British "expats" in Spain.. they'd retired and been living there for years and then Brexit came, suddenly they became subject to rules that applied to non-EU citizens and were complaining vociferously about it. The writer of the article pointed out that expats and immigrants were essentially the same thing, but the term "immigrant" was usually (at least in Europe) applied to people from poorer countries like Syria and Poland living in richer countries like the UK, while those from richer countries moving to poorer ones (even Spain!) were "expats", and the reason the expats in Spain were complaining so much was they had a sense of entitlement that, say, a Polish truck driver in Britain would never feel.

    • @iskandartaib
      @iskandartaib 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RetireandGo I don't think that's true - there are lots of immigrants that live for years on resident visas, even to the extent of having children and raising families. Perhaps you might call these people "expats", but again, what's the difference? Some years ago I came across an article about British "expats" who were living in Spain - they were very upset because the rules had changed due to Brexit, to them that wasn't fair, because they'd been working or had been retired, living in Spain under EU residency laws, and now they had to fill in extra paperwork to remain there. The writer of the article was of the opinion that the term "expat" was just a euphemism, to differentiate people like this from, say, a Polish lorry driver in Britain, or one of the thousands of people from Syria or Africa trying to get into, or already in, the EU. So the term "immigrant" has negative connotations - they're people from poorer countries (even such as Poland) who move to richer countries, while "expats" are those who move from richer countries to poorer ones (such as Spain). As you are probably aware, there are thousands of Burmese immigrants in Thailand - maybe we should call them "expats" too.

    Thailand is not the place to retire anymore. Great to visit or live and work there, but not for retirees. Starting 1 Jan 2024 Thailand now taxes the income of retired Expats (including Pensions), if you live in Thailand 180 days or more in a year, while all the other countries in SEAsia do not. Hopefully Thailand will change their mind, but as it is now, starting on Jan 2025 Expats have been told to pay income taxes on the money they brought to Thailand from 1 Jan 2024 onwards. Thailand also wants to implement worldwide taxation, so even if you dont remit the money to Thailand they want to tax it . No matter how good their Visas are or the country is - for retired Expats Thailand is not the best option (we are leaving).
