@25:52... HOW to begin to build a positive, healthy narrative of oneself after enduring a financial wipeout or character assassination or an orchestrated cabal to destroy you when admittedly you made some small missteps but nothing as one might be painted? I've seen others totally gloss over the ugly truth and it's not honest or authentic. Sounds ridiculous to you readers but how to begin to rebuild a healthy version of one's life? Great video! So glad I found you. Thanks for my rambling but the first steps on a rebuild are quite uncertain.

Very inspirational! I did retire August 1 since August 1 I’m staying with the commitment of losing weight after I retired ! It can be done in 22 tent pounds down 21 to go! I’m feeling good except for my back has been bothering me since I lost weight now I need to work on my core. Was thinking about heading to Pattaya area was thinking about staying about 20 miles north. But I would definitely like to find a place with a good gym nearby or in the building so I’m thinking about one of these high-rise places and just pay a little extra. To have all the amenities. I’m glad I found your channel !!! I just did 35 years as a heavy equipment operator. Now it’s time to get away from the bosses!!! I started commenting before I even finished the video. I feel even better about it now thanks. I appreciate it. A lot of these thoughts have gone through my head. I’ve just never organized them like you did in this video. Good job very much appreciated !!!

Great advice. My own experience echoes your advice. I started traveling as I started healing and that was what I needed. I was miserable and very focused on the negative - didn't help having a manager, friends, family, and whole culture rubbing negativity in my face constantly. I found gratitude as I started exploring other places and getting away. And I eventually cut all the toxicity out of my life and moved on. I will live and die happy before I ever go back to a desperate fate worse than death. Thank you.
I came across one of your videos last week & find they are just what my mind ordered! I find you informative, real, enlightening & putting things in perspective for this lifestyle. Keep up on this travel therapy, you're doing a world of good for all who watch. I now need to get more aligned & focus on how to make this happen. Thank you for sharing your approach.

Good advice on the in room workout. Take a bungee cord & tie it to the doorknob. When i used to travel some in Europe i would buy some bread at a good bakery, buy some sardines, bagged vegetables, yogurts, cereal and boxed milk as you did and just eat in my room. More healthy and cheap. Very good advice on staying safe. Trust no one, at least for a while.
Excellent advice. I appreciate the tips for living well. That cat was a cutie. Love the pics of your food. Thailand has all types of amazing cuisine!!!! Thank you my friend!
When I started to travel I was youngster and meeting people was very easy I still have friends I keep in touch from years ago but as you get older you can go on walks in parks in the morning you eventually will see the same people and have conversations and you would be surprised how many people you will meet.
There is a related point, which is, don't get stuck in the doldrums. (A catch phrase I recall from The Electric Company's Letterman or whatever.) HeyR&G….Walking is one thing I do a lot of while I’m traveling. On my last trip to Thailand I put in nearly 6 miles each day. Same when I went to Europe. I love walkable Cities
@@RetireandGo Yes a typical day for me would be walking back n forth from Nana to Terminal 21 a few times and also doing 3 or maybe 4 laps around the Lake at Benjakitti Park. I lost weight on the last trip from all that walking and no drinking. I was pretty boring but I’ll make up for it next time

Boredom is a real concern. I started traveling 1 month per year in 2015 because the US has become a dead end. Quit dating 10 years ago as that is a waste of time, no friends, little family, only thing is work. Unfortunately, I notice I always develop boredom during my holidays. Today, on holiday, I woke up at 0600 went to the breakfast buffet, then showered, went to the gym, got some lunch, then went out to a high end massage parlor. It's just too hot this time of year in Thailand to do much after lunch. Then slept until 2300 and went out for a couple of slices of pizza. That is not a smart way to live when retired. I blew a bunch of money because I couldn't think of anything to do. I'm almost excited to get back to the US next week and work. I hate my job, but it keeps me busy.
Ugh. That's pretty sad. You need to change your lifestyle. Make some friends, get some hobbies. Must be some good women to date. I was happy to retire and get out of work Good luck. I'm retired overseas six years. Met a great woman, every day great. You can do it.
@@brucesnyder690 I got a Thai Retirement O visa last September, but I am not ready to retire yet. Though, I imagine I will be looking at the flight schedules within a few weeks. I did have a Thai girlfriend that I met before the pandemic, but I ended that 6 months ago. No, there are little or no quality women for a mid-50's man to date in the US.

Excellent content! Came across your channel a few days ago. I’m in the process of retiring in Panamá with the Pensionado Visa. I looked at Thailand, it’s just to far away for me 😄. It’s beautiful there though, very nice. I’m enjoying your videos. Wise counsel, valuable information. I have subscribed and thank you. 🙏🏽 👍🏽
Great video. A trap mind, is a trapped mind where ever one goes. You are so positive Chris. Keep up the good vibes. Can you do a video on how to financially retire early in Thailand?
Great video. Retired expat from the US living jn Thailand six years. Has worked out great for me. Have a great Thai Wife. Every day great Haven't missed the US for a moment. Would never go back to the US
I sit in my room and watch 16hours of TV per day,7 days a week and have no friends or family interactions for the last 2 years. I leave the house for 2 hours per week and have no active life. If I can leave that all behind, bring it on,I can go nowhere but up!!!!
Great tips as always for sharing this to other travelers. Budgeting your financial requires commitment and disciplines to achieve our financial freedom. There are no taxes on our capital gain for less than $500K from our home after we sold it. Also invest as early as possible for our retirement accounts like 401K and IRA / Roth accounts. If you decided to stop working at 55 and to take an early withdrawal from your 401K, there is no early penalty withdrawal. After our retirement, we need to downsize everything and to eliminate all unnecessary expenses. As we are aging and to retire abroad, choose our medical insurance carefully and always have our emergency cash online ready available when in need like Schwab Bank without any ATM service charges. Sharing is caring as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. Enjoy your retirement and happy travels!
Wow, I feel like this video was made specifically for me. This is the first one I have seen that someone has sincerely covered this subject with such care and compassion. You have no idea how much you have helped me today. Thank you so much! You also please take the time and congratulate yourself for your great work. ❤
You make good points. How come you moved from your country? Asia is more peaceful than the west. How can you feel optimistic as a 25 year old in London right now? Rent is expensive for young people, price for food has become criminal. Where is the silver lining in places like Uk anymore? And that's not even considering how people are in general! I found expats and thai locals very easy to communicate with and friendly. People in UK have so many barriers up and its hard to make friends. In thailand I found people more likely to be social as you have a common interest of the country. You also escape keeping up with the jones lifestyle and women are way more rude in UK asian women are kinder, sweeter and more respectful from my experience. I also struggle with weather i dont absorb vitamin d well so i feel depressed due to grey skies. In thailand you feel more energy from the heat.
Agreed 100%. Malaysia was also great for me, I highly recommend finding backpackers to stay in and having random chats and going out with people to see the sights!
Very thoughtful and insightful video. Really honest and well presented, a lot of practical advice. I love the park you are in, a lot of nice shade for walking. May i ask where it is please?
👍🏼👍🏼 Getting this far in life…the mindset of the needs & the wants really change, IF we pay attention to it; how some/most things evolve. For me, minimalizing & living down to the simple/basic needs is an easier feat for men than women, but it can be done. I’m most certain that most of your subscribers who are very inspired by your journeys are men. How you share your thoughts/ideas/suggestions without reservations coming from your heart, I wish all the best to those who heed your examples, may you all find along the way…that after all is said & done, you will find the most liberating feeling…”Peace of Mind.” Good luck in your travels/ journeys, your quest for your life’s contentment. 🌺Aloha🤙🏼

Oh Panama is fantastic
I have a few videos from there
Great video. A trap mind, is a trapped mind where ever one goes. You are so positive Chris. Keep up the good vibes. Can you do a video on how to financially retire early in Thailand?
Love this
I agree
Let it go in our head first
If only I can downsize, been doing it last few months n still more months to go 😵💫
Try reading Goodbye Things by Fumio Sasaki.
You are taking it step by step
That’s smart
Another great video, full of good advice and positivity. A minor point, the word is alleviated and not alleved!

@@RetireandGo keep up the great videos !!
Pattaya holds the heat well
Oh yes haha
It gets hot!
I need a cold Diet Coke
I sit in my room and watch 16hours of TV per day,7 days a week and have no friends or family interactions for the last 2 years. I leave the house for 2 hours per week and have no active life. If I can leave that all behind, bring it on,I can go nowhere but up!!!!
I wish a totally new you in 2025 !
Go!
Make it happen :-)
very uplifting and positive , ty )))
I appreciate this :-)
Thank you
Excellent advice. Thank you!
You are most welcome

All so true
So much information and truth in your comment
No one talks about the psychological part, thanks for addressing this.

Getting this far in life…the mindset of the needs & the wants really change, IF we pay attention to it; how some/most things evolve.
For me, minimalizing & living down to the simple/basic needs is an easier feat for men than women, but it can be done.
I’m most certain that most of your subscribers who are very inspired by your journeys are men. How you share your thoughts/ideas/suggestions without reservations coming from your heart, I wish all the best to those who heed your examples, may you all find along the way…that after all is said & done, you will find the most liberating feeling…”Peace of Mind.”
Good luck in your travels/ journeys, your quest for your life’s contentment.
🌺Aloha🤙🏼
I agree with you
The peace of mind
That’s the place where we can finally relax and enjoy retirement
Very good points
Thank you! I hope it’s helpful and inspiring
i'm trying to sell my home before end of this year, and goto thailand for a 6months muy thai daily training, i want to get a 6pack, and rewire my brain with meditation and learn buddism more and to be calm, then i'm heading to eastern europe, that's where i want to live, at a ski resort town. That's my retirement plan.
Oh my what a great plan
I love it
I want to visit east Europe as well
Maybe next year
@@RetireandGo im seriously thinking of Georgia the country, and the ski resort is guadari, or i may head to russia sochi, or serbia ski resort.
People should follow your advice.
I hope it helps them, sometimes just getting it in their ear is the first step
Aloha. Thanks for all quick answers. We really appreciated your advices. My husband listened one of your videos regarding investment in dividends but I couldn’t remember which video. Can you help with that? In the meantime, I’m try to watch your video now. Thank you. Aloha
Oh yes
I’ll do an investment video every month
My dividend stocks and growth stocks I’m buying
It’s not financial advice just what I’m doing
Great video
