If you're using an electric lift pump along with the mechanical one, do you recommend putting it in series with the original mechanical one, or tee it in so that whichever produces the higest pressure/flowrate at any point in time works best? Mine has an integrated check valve since it's a plunger pump so no problems with fuel returning backwards through the electric pump.

They weigh around 3000 pounds with a 318 V-8 and being a mid size from the 90s has the biggest internal bed dimensions of any mini or mid sized truck. Since it’s full size brother was the first pickup with a 5.9 Cummins the OM606 would be a perfect match. By the way my late cousin who job was a truck drive routinely got 25 mpg out of his mid 90s Ram extra cab dually one ton. I bet the pickup I described above would top 40mpg.

Here is one reason why I would love to get rid of the filter head: Japanese diesels have a manual primer pump on top up their filter heads, making replacement of the diesel filter much less scary.

The bolts from housing actually go through the head and into the block. If I deleted it I'd certainly find a way to secure those bolts.

Could I bypass the lift pump and filter housing. If I run an Airdog lift pump by my fuel tank. That filters and separates water and air from the fuel.

just fill the new filter with fresh diesel or your preferred fuel treatment .. never had a problem since i was shown that trick
