      There’s many forms of Kickboxing to the point where it’s difficult to put them under a single umbrella. American Kickboxing is Boxing meets Karate. Japanese Kickboxing and Dutch Kickboxing have different origins and styles but they’re both Karate meets Boxing meets Muay Thai. And then there’s other styles that are sometimes addressed as Kickboxing like Sanda, Savate, even Muay Thai is sometimes called Thai Kickboxing.

      @anandls1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      What you seeing is only the sport aspect of Kyokushin, which is pretty much the only way Muay Thai is taught/trained today. Kyokushin is still a traditional martial art with kata, basics (kihon), it's own conditioning (old style conditioning), self defense aspects etc etc which all goes into building the fighter/practitioner along with the more modern sport aspects of training and cross training.

    • @casz7098
      @casz7098 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@anandls1 yes of course. But MT has a lot of traditional aspects like the wai kru(kata), the crown, taking your trainer's or gyms name, the armbands and prayers as well as how the gambling odds change every round. There's also the age of the art and that it was used with weapons in combat by soldiers. It's very similar to karate as all martial arts are in a way similar. It's the art of war.
      One style is not necessarily better than the other. It's the fighter of the style not the style of the fighter. Hence we have legends from all disciplines like Buakaw, Masato, Filho, Alerts, etc.
