Qiu showed class in this match. Smiling after a good exchange of head kick and lean back. Immediate apologized after his foul. Praised Akimoto after got kick in the chin. But Akimoto is the faster and more powerful fighter in this match.
Qiu have not fight for two years. But Akimoto kick is no joke.
@@Asskiller2011 Qiu was semi retired and has been going to school the last few years so its understandable why he's rusty. I think he's past the age of peak performance but he's always fun to watch regardless.

Great fight by equally skilled fighter. Unfortunately, the kickboxing rule doesn’t give much weight to sweeps. You can see that Akimoto is learning to balance himself against those sweeps on the third round but got frustrated again at the last seconds.
Ah so that's why Qiu lost...
I thought he was clearly the winner given how many times he put Akimoto down.
What did Akimoto do that earned him that much more points than Qiu's sweeps ?
In my eyes Qiu Jianliang score in good display, beautiful technique. While Akimoto speed and power very impactful.

This was a fight of Experience Vs Speed & Power. Akimoto was too fast for Qiu in round 1 and almost overwhelmed him. Qiu started figuring out Akimoto's rhythm in the second and had answers to that but Akimoto was still fast and strong. Those sweeps also punched holes in Akimoto's mental fortitude. The third round was really a demonstration of the importance of synergy a fighter has with his corner, Akimoto was able to push on because of his corner, he finished strong because of their encouragement and ringside shouts. At the end of it all, Qiu now knows that ONE championship is not a walkover and it isn't showbiz, it's work....and a lot of it. He has his work cut out for him in this weight division.

A matter of fact , Qiu is well known as cocky boastful fighter .. What a big mouth saying that he would KO Akimoto in the 1st or 2nd round , ironically he have been dominated for two out of three rounds & finally lost , what a shame !!

High level hard strikes being landed. This fight hyped me up!
Akimoto is younger and faster vs older guy who's rusty from long time no fights and studying in school. First round akimoto win clearly but after that qiu got him figured out. Still due to his ring rust he wasn't able to capitalize enough. I feel if this went on a few more rounds qiu would come out on top. Looking forward to more qiu appearances later in One.

实事求是地讲，邱建良确实输得不冤，出腿速度太慢，基本每一次后扫腿都被对方提膝顶住了。而摔法在规则里很清楚，并不会有更高得分。全程进攻不够主动，没有太多有效击中。还没有之前张成龙那一把打得好，希望这一次邱建良可以吸取教训。
邱建良这次速度不如对手，可能是两年没打的缘故，对手腿法极快，而且左右脚都会扫踢！！这点必须非常注意！对手的拳法也不慢，腿法更快，邱建良的左大腿都被踢红了，甚至第三局邱建良有一次看起来腿痛的有点站不稳拾似的！。可以看到日本对手针对邱建良研究和训练了很长时间，针对性极强。邱建良非常厉害的腿法没有发挥出来，所以整场没发挥出水平。邱建良速度也不如以前，看着真揪心！希望阿良恢复训练再比赛时能战胜这个恐怖的日本对手！

Akimoto was a beast in this fight and took the win with good pressure and a lot of volume, technically very strong in pure kickboxing.
Jianliang is a skilled muay thai technician with beautifull sweeps and timing but he seemed to be overwhelmed by the fast-paced kickboxing style of Akimoto
Qiu jianliang is not pure muaythai he is learning sanda too.

良哥老了, 日本拳手更年青拳更重, 日本較少這類厚壯重拳的, 兩位打法近似, 良哥很難拼同類選手, 沒有硬拼拳, 用腳掃了那麼多次, 已經很有策略了, 期望更多年青中國拳手!

Should have been a draw really. The judges didn't see someone fell on the floor so many times, I guess the judges weren't looking at the ring when someone falls.

@@DKYtut in Chinese Sanda (where Qiu comes from) they do score points for throws. MT doesn't really score it much at all.

Personally I would have QJL as winner.
Aikomoto got the first round, second goes to QJL while the third is a toss up.
As pretty as QJL sweeps are, end of the day he is the one covered from top to bottom with welts. So the decision is understandable.
I hope to see him fight against Alaverdi. Despite the loss QJL is still a top contender. But please don’t look pass your opponent next time.

The Japanese fighter has all the best kicks, the speed and the punching while his Chinese opponent has the cockiness, the acting tough and being aggressive which didn't help in this fight. We saw his talk before this fight. Hope he had deleted that interview. LOL

But the way he checked leg kick and combo ending with kicks definitely MT's signature. I guess he studied MT somewhere before. But not to take anything away from him today his performance is phenomenal.

There was no knockdown, sweeps DON'T give a point in kickboxing rule fights. It amazes me how many people don't know the basic point system in kickboxing.

Qiu JianLiang is a winner, but all judges take side with the japanese.
the reason qiu lost is because i think sweep does not carry a lot of point in kickboxing like muay thai, they prefer fast combination of punches and kicks.
Sweep does not give a point in kickboxing. It was a clear win for Akimoto.

People who have a good eye for fighting styles, what’s Hiro’s main fighting style now? I know he’s a Kyokushin black belt, but he now trains Muay Thai? (Correct me if I’m wrong)
Does he still mainly use Karate or is he transitioning over to Muay Thai?
His style is mainly what people call "Dutch" kickboxing style, since it has origins of kyokushin karate.
Mainly known for using the 'High guard', forward pressure-style and heavy boxing combinations ending with a kick.
Other fighters with a similar style in ONE would be Marat Grigorian, Nicky Holzken, Regian Eersel, Sadikovich etc.

This company is so bad at promoting their fights considering you never find out about them unless the fighters themselves post it on their Instagram accounts. Not only that, they don't even tell you at what time the fight is going to start. This is why well-organized companies like the UFC will always remain on top.

Qiu better kungfu technic was not appreciated. Akimoto was down all the times from finer Qiu leg sweeps but still won the fight. The Japanese was favoured by the judges and Qiu need to know that finer technic alone were not enough in One championship. He needed to get a KO.
