Both were very impressive for sure - it takes a lot of training to develop skills that good
People getting excited about the number of times Akimoto had his legs swept, dont know the rules. Throws, sweeps and trip are not allowed. Its kickboxing not Muay Thai.
And both were forced to sit out a long time for some reason. Qiu retired, and Akimoto finally got a fight after 2 years of inactivity
Is Akimoto‘s fight against petchfergus already two years ago?
Qiu was already retired before this. He was doing his MBA for about three or four years.
That I find is very typical of One championship. They make alot of noise about their fighters then sit them out in limbo for months to year or even years. They have their favorites they keep giving time to
So stoked to see Akimoto fight again next month. He's been inactive for way too long.
Menschliche maschinen
Awesome fight. The sound from each hit is frightning, very powerful fighters
The speed of these 2 is frightening
Absolutely crazy and stunning.
They are fast, yeah, but Akimoto telegraphs his round kicks, which is why he gets swept so often. he's beatable for sure.
Long recovery time when fighting like this. Both did really well.
Perfect match; neck and neck. Qui was lucky for not being cought completely with those head kicks from Akimoto, but not so lucky with the leg kicks.
he's a tank. watch his other fights.
Clean fight👏🏻
except for oc judges
The kickboxing guy’s reflexes are very impressive.
he looked juiced to the gills...
@@mnemonix1315I wouldn’t say so. Remember that the ref is built like an average person and he was bigger than them. It is because the ring has good lighting, they are both very lean and have no shirt on, and there were almost no other people to compare them to. They would probably look like average fit dudes in shirts.
@@mnemonix1315 you don't know what juiced to the gills looks like mate. Its just short stocky legs
very sharp, very technical. Love it when striking is like this
Both Powerful Men! WOW!
The speed from both fighters are insane
Both these studs went for it ! Great pace for a match with no grappling !
Very superb fight from both fighters. Akimoto's combos are scary!
Great fight!! Respect to both warriors 👏
They're both fighting like they owe each other money
Great stuff

Great fight, 1 of the best seen for me in a long time
Whatever happened to Qiu Jianliang??
That's amazing fight
Can y’all please just post Regian’s fight??
Y is akimoto so inactive though get him a. Fight one
where is Ipman?
TRận đấu quá hay
Where is akimoto now?
He is training wd the Yakuza Legend Kiryu Kazumi in the centre of Katahara forest near Fujiyama he ll be back very soon wd something new.

Just. Akimoto was more aggressive
really nice fight..
Good news ❤
Yep
Akimoto used push kick to make advantage to kick his head.
Dude literally SHOWED the blueprint to beating opponents who spam low kicks ! ! Yes he didn't win here as he almost gave the first round away figuring out his opponent. But once he changed level starting the second round he was dropping his opponent endlessly timing the low kicks. His opponent though, made no adjustments, and he won't be so lucky in a rematch. LOVE China !
great matchup
Nice fight!
Should have been a draw. Both so talented 🥊
nice fight
Which one is karate and which one is kickboxing? I think white shorts is karate.
You are correct
All the techniqes used by both fighters were from muay thai. We didn't see any jump spinning karate kicks or side kicks through out the fight.
@2:24 that was a strong kick
High level for sure.
If you lose, you lose! ! ! Where does that reason come from! ? We just see both sides being great.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Tough tough men
I thing it was a fair decision. Qiu had some very good sweeps but Akimoto landed a lot of low kicks. Good fight. Very talented fighters.
Yeah but sweeps are not counted highly in Kickboxing, if it's Muay Thai it would be great
Since there is no difference between the styles in this fight what was the purpose?
To see a super high level kickboxing match?
It’s like saying: Since both soccer teams play soccer, what is the purpose of this soccer match?
Also there was a difference, quite a huge one.
@@zoroverse8358 I do not know what you were watching but it did not seem very high caliber to me. I have seen boxing, kick boxing and MMA matches . This match was nothing special!
@@donbaxley5530 I am sure you have seen all these matches. However, 1 you do not train them. 2 you do not know what to look for and you don’t know enough to determine if certain matches are high level or not.
And i mean even if you are not knowledgeable in martial arts, it should be obvious they are both elite level. Both of them have fought and won against several other world class fighters, and have had successful professional careers. Qiu has also been ranked the super featherweight and was quite literally the best kickboxer in china at the time
This doesn't seem like there was a karate thing but it was hell of entertaining
Akimoto is a kyokushin style fighter, so he fights more in the pocket
Akimoto's kicks and body blows were pretty much 100% kyokushin karate. Karate isn't just point sparring.
i agree, i do Karate too and this this is not Karate
@@Alphagaming-ou1ku Kyokushin Karate and its offshoots basically founded dutch kickboxing and K-1, it's not the same style you did I guess.
Tell me your a casual without telling me
Prepare for the next battle... Yosimitsu vs king.
Wow that was some scrap ! Brilliant skill by both fighters !
Akimoto the clear winner 😮
I thought the other guy won by all the sweeps.
✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
Wt the hell?? Why Qiu lost?? Any reasons? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Qiu lost because the judge was blind.....
No holding?
Akimoto telegraphs his front side roundhouse too much. Too easy to block or evade it.
Better to throw a front snap kick or side teep instead of a front roundhouse. "The shortest distance between two points is a straight line."
Someone got paid off! Thought boxing was crooked!!!
Japan ❤
Draw wil be fair
no feints, rarely any body punches. Just kicking legs, body and punching the head. High level professionals, but both look nervous and edgy.
Both could be alot more creative mixing it up.
What are you saying? Have you ever seen/trained any martial arts even remotely similar to kickboxing?
There were absolutely feints, just not any over exaggerated ones used in amateur stuff, also it is harder to see from camera, as they feints are meant for the opponents and not the audience. Over exaggerating feints leaves you open for counters, works worse often when facing a high level opponent.
You, no offense, obviously don’t know what you are talking about.
For example 2:16 there were feints to set up the left knee, and immediately in the engagement after, akimoto feinted a cross, tough he got push kicked away after.
Soon after that qiu feinted a teep before doing a punching combo.
Not allowed to catch kicks? What, why?
because it's kickboxing and not muay thai...
U have missed a lot, didn't u? About two years ago a lot of promotions changed rules in kickboxing, now it's not allowed to catch kicks
Cause it makes it boring to catch. Really boring.
I thought the one n black shorts should be the winner, because he dropped the other guy a few times.
With sweeps? That's not what is referred to as "dropping" someone in a fight. A sweep doesn't rate much in scoring. Do you know anything about the sport?
@@nadnavlis240 I don't care how the scoring system works. If one fell on the floor so many times that should be seen as disadvantaged, this is especially true in a street brawl. A fighting match's scoring system should reflect the real life situation as much as possible, otherwise it will become another Olympic game sports.
@martincstee5335 sweeps do no damage, the leg kicks will stop you.
@@petedobson4350 Sweeps do damage but not as much as direct kicks. However, the follow-up after the sweeps will do more damage if the rule allows. In this Kickboxing match, the ref would stop the sweeper as soon as the other guy fall on the floor. In MMA, being on the floor will be a big disadvantage. If this is how scoring work in Kickboxing, then this sports will have no potential for growth in viewership.
@@martincstee5335 hang on, let me see if I have this straight. So you're saying that the world's biggest martial arts organisation, isn't going to bet big because you don't understand the different rule sets in different sports? They have boxing Muay Thai, kickboxing, mma, and submission grappling. I'm pretty sure they will do just fine😂
SHIDO GUITHIO , ICHI ...😊😊😊❤
What a hell
Great match and true warriors.
Right guy won bit close
🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵👍
I would not want to be a judge in this fight. Both warriors are throwing bombs.
It's too easy to be a judge for this fight: The Chinese throw one punch and the Japanese return fire with two punches plus two heavy and powerful kicks to the leg and head of the Chinese fighter. It's an easy math puzzle that a second grader can easily solve. 😅😅
Kickboxing is scored by the amount of punches and kicks hit, so yes, it is scored by the amount of punches and kicks thrown that are not defended. The guy above is right, Akimoto lands more punches and has higher volume output which means he scored more and that's why he won.
Qui put down Akimoto loads of times...wrong decision there...
Sorry fight?
Robbery
Qiu was awesome...
that was a loaded decision. with that many leg-sweeps you can't give it Akimoto.
You know nothing about how to score a kickboxing match. Sweeps aren't worth much.
@@nadnavlis240 Yeah, besides they were almost exclusively in round 2, which was the only round you could even consider giving to Qiu. Akimoto clearly dominated rounds 1 and 3.
Is it my impression or the chinese fight dirty

Two very good fighters at the top of the game... very nice. But one was clearly faster and harder...
Qui was the better fighter here. Technically and tactically. I do not agree with the judges.
it's one championship judges. wdya expect??

Not in this match.
We have two more RodTanks here!

I’m no judge. But the dude in black trucks was more impressive and was my winner
i don't get it Q knocked him down a bunch of times he won
Qiu should've won.
There’s no way , a draw at best, but most think he lost ??!
Honestly thought the white trunks loss. What happened? Care to explain how he won?
Because he paid the referee.
@@user-tl1bw4wp1care you serious lol
He chased the chinaman all over the ring in the end
Can’t win running away chief
Paid the ref 😂
Sweeps don't score, in fact they aren't even allowed in most kick boxing scoring systems. You can lose points for consistent sweeping, kicks to the legs are though. Same thing with catch and hit.
Ok, I just became a fan of Akimoto, I want to see more of his fights now. The rivalry between China and Japan usually makes for exciting events whatever the sport. Those Akimoto leg kicks though, Qiu is going to be limping for at least a week.
The commentators are pro Akimoto amd surprisingly he won even though he got knocked off his feet a thousand times.😂 Bad and bias judgement
These guys are powerful and lightening fast
