Thank you, Chris for speaking some sense. Obviously, Nagato's pain was so immense that channeling it into a punch made it penetrate an aquifer and create a pressure differential that forced the water to erupt onto the surface. Duh.
To your conversation about the animation. Usually its not a single studio, depending on size they'll bring in freelancers or even an entire seperate studio to help, hiring per 'cut' (similar to in movies where a scene plays out until cutting to black or a different camera). This leads to differing art styles during high action moments unless a director requires a uniform style. The episode is famous for this having dozens of animators on it.
No joke, when I first watched this episode and I seen the animation after 5 minutes I spent an hour+ trying to find the real version instead of the fan made version included as a bonus or something

The only difference is when Naruto said, "someone, please help me." Minato actually showed up and helped him. In my case, I have no way in the world for me to reach out to my father, which is something I really, really need right now.
@ThePreator 11 You couldn't have. You might have thought he was cool, but you couldn't have loved him through empathy or sympathy at that point because you knew nothing about him. I too thought he was cool back then and very strong, but I 100% did not love him
No. That was nagato hiding in the tree. He needed "pain" to be close to him to release the planetary devastation jutsu . Then nagato stuck his hand out and let the jutsu out then he had " pain " take over from then.
True, but i think that’s mostly cause whenever he gets like this its down to who can he see in front of him. With Orochimaru, it was just Orochimaru he could see at the moment, then he left, & 4 Tailed Naruto just sat there in perpetual anger til Sakura and Yamato showed up. With this, he can only see Pain, he thinks Hinata’s dead, so the only one he can hurt is Pain.
Back in the day I went to like 3 different anime sites because I thought it was fake or unfinished animation. But after watching the episode I had to start it right over to experience the greatness in the right mind set.
I was actually ‘worried’ that Rana would actually be reacting alone lmao 😂 as much as people like her, I’m sure nobody thinks the reacting is complete without the others because the normies are all of them.
I love the style of the animation from this fight. I know a lot of people hate on how over the top and cartoony it is, but I love that. I think it makes it feel as crazy and wild as this fight actually is, two almost godlike beings desperately clashing against each other, one of them enraged to the point that they can't think rationally. I get why some people don't like it I guess, but I really enjoy it.
This was the worst case scenario....just goes to show that even someone with the power of the Sage of the Six Paths couldn't stop a true Naruto rampage with all the tails out
This Pain defeated the entire village, Pain in his prime would be able to handle the 9 tails since he himself said he would increase the size of the Shibaku Tensei before Naruto returned to normal
Yeah, the amount of chakra Nagato exhausted fighting and especially destroying the Leaf makes that debatable. And if Pain had been able to use Shinra Tensei (I hate calling it Almighty Push) from the start of the fight, this would have gone totally different. Or if Pain had been trying to kill Naruto, it would have been one hell of a short fight. There are a lot of factors to this fight specifically that give Naruto advantages because he needs them against Pain
I remember some fans saying that the animation in this fight was terrible but honestly the animation was well done especially in the area it was taking place in

Thank you, Chris for speaking some sense. Obviously, Nagato's pain was so immense that channeling it into a punch made it penetrate an aquifer and create a pressure differential that forced the water to erupt onto the surface. Duh.
Episode 168 is fire. Can`t wait for their reaction
"Is he at all 9?" -That one guy the entire episode
🤣🤣🤣
DUDE RANA HAD NO WORDS. THE MOMENT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR !! DOPE
Pain: The power of the ninetails
Me: "woah, we're halfway there wo woAH, livin on a prayer"
Troy baker transforming into yamato from pain then back pain is so cool
pretty sure he wasn't hopping between them in one go.
This show is a masterpiece
I wouldn't say masterpiece but It is great.
@Hamza Siddiqui I wouldn't say that either everyone has different opinions in anime some like it some don't.
@Hamza Siddiqui Hater 😂
@@Salik96 Better than OP HxH Bleach
@@Legend-rg4iu definitly better then op Hxh and bleach
No joke, when I first watched this episode and I seen the animation after 5 minutes I spent an hour+ trying to find the real version instead of the fan made version included as a bonus or something
I love how Rana doesn't say anything but you can see the whole episode she was concerned af for naruto
Love that moment the necklace is turning on automatic...I'm pretty sure it's what remain of Naruto mix with the Nine-tail that destroys it...Like he was saying, i can't accept it, not this time...Pain did too much...
No, the necklace activates when you have six tails I think
@@Pharo02 Why would it turn on at 6 tails at that point the tailed beast is too strong it would make more sense at 4 or 5 tails
@@Pharo02 The necklace activates immediately. The reason why it didn't here in the anime is because everything before he goes sixth tail is filler. In the manga, he just goes to six tails immediately.
@@alangutierrez9359 Okay the other guy made it clear but maybe as a last rescue or something
@@Pharo02 mm makes sense
God, you've come to this point. How delighted I am!
You know you’re a bad ass when one of your moves is called “Planetary Devastation”
This episode gets me in a personal level. The part where they showed Minato and he looked disappointed, I immediately remember about my deceased father and how he probably is watching me every time I mess every fucking thing up in my life. The only difference is when Naruto said, "someone, please help me." Minato actually showed up and helped him. In my case, I have no way in the world for me to reach out to my father, which is something I really, really need right now.
17:57 I expected something, but that, that was not it.
16:00 my ears are being blessed by this orchestra&choir no cap
The dude who knows Pain: Planetary devastation!!
Mickey: Yo he plans to throw a meteorite?
The dude who dances too: Not yet
The guy who made this animation is the same guy that did Naruto vs Sasuke in the waterfall aka. Final Valley
Y'all really gonna love Pain soon lmao
Can't wait to see that
fr
Wanna see it? @wily badass
@@madashi6696 nice comedy buddy
@ThePreator 11 You couldn't have. You might have thought he was cool, but you couldn't have loved him through empathy or sympathy at that point because you knew nothing about him. I too thought he was cool back then and very strong, but I 100% did not love him
@@wilybadass2517 what do you mean nice comedy I’m saying do you wanna see the premium episodes
No. That was nagato hiding in the tree. He needed "pain" to be close to him to release the planetary devastation jutsu . Then nagato stuck his hand out and let the jutsu out then he had " pain " take over from then.
Nine Tails voice sounds like the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin 🤣
It's the voice from Inspector Gadget, Dr. Claw. That's why I find it so ridiculous and prefer sub just for his voice.
Its so underrated that people didnt notice. When Naruto went 4 tails he hurt everyone in his way. But this time, Hinata still save from his wrath.
Nah, that was just Kishimoto writing to not kill her. It's not like 4 tails Naruto carried her to a safe place lol
Back in the day I went to like 3 different anime sites because I thought it was fake or unfinished animation. But after watching the episode I had to start it right over to experience the greatness in the right mind set.
Pain is so cool. I like that we just get him talking and thinking. Almost like he is the main character.
The next episodes narutos dub voice goes so harddd it’s so good
I was actually ‘worried’ that Rana would actually be reacting alone lmao 😂 as much as people like her, I’m sure nobody thinks the reacting is complete without the others because the normies are all of them.
"The geography of that whole region, they're gonna have to make new maps" very good analysis
This arc Hits with so much nostalgia. Especially the intro.. my fav by far. You guys are in the best part. So much more to come and I cannot wait !
"Bro it's a planet." Love the way Rana believed he was about to literally destroy the whole planet ;)
Rana can do Shadow clones! did you learned that from Kakashi?
Remember when Jiraiya told Naruto that when you have the kind of power that he has there's no reason to bother with tricks. Yeah.
Well the more he used it, the more he lose his life
That's one of the most creative openings I've ever seen on TH-cam.
Reason we all stan Rana! 🛐🙌 😂
The animator for this also did Sasuke vs Orochimaru(Chuunin Exams), 3rd Hokage vs Orochimaru, and Naruto vs Sasuke
I always end up coming back to this Naruto fight, its just amazing. This is peak Anime
The first ever planterary devastation scene is memorizing
They got surprised with this planetary devastation, imagine their reaction to the final fight
This was the same guy who did Naruto vs Sasuke at the end of part 1
Aaaa no
Nahid sounds like hes calling him "the sage of six packs" and I think thats hilarious lmao
nagato the gym jock talking about no pain no gain
This was the worst case scenario....just goes to show that even someone with the power of the Sage of the Six Paths couldn't stop a true Naruto rampage with all the tails out
This Pain defeated the entire village, Pain in his prime would be able to handle the 9 tails since he himself said he would increase the size of the Shibaku Tensei before Naruto returned to normal
Pain gonna increase the size of chibaku tensei, but Minato came and help Naruto back to his form
Yeah and Nagato is greatly weakened from his fight with Hanzo when he summoned the Gedo Mazo statue
Nagato was sick like itachi was.
I have been looking forward to this iconic episode reaction for months.
The face of Rana when naruto breaks the necklace 😱.
I remember some fans saying that the animation in this fight was terrible but honestly the animation was well done especially in the area it was taking place in
Rewatching this fight right now made me enjoy it a lot more tbh. This arc was beautiful and by far my fav in naruto. Goosebumps towards the end too.
What video did they cut away to when it said ‘you’re wrong, here’s why’ when talking about hand drawn animation? Looked interesting
Rana definitely has more chakra than Navi... look at the no of shadow clones she made ... while Navi made only 2
KEEP WATCHING PLEEEEEASE
You have to watch pain's back story episodes in one sitting, I'm not sure but it's probably 2 or 3. He had a pretty disturbing childhood
Def need to advocate Clone Rana for future reactions 😂
11:56 foreshadowing of the disco ball for “the dance”.
It’s cute that they thought Yamato could do anything about a 6 tailed Naruto without the crystal necklace.
Pain: "Do you hate me now?"
Sean Combs: 👁👄👁
5:04 this is why you don't pause Naruto
Stfu man... this animation style is to show that they're going all out. Appreciate the fact this is not CGI like aot s4.
@@mrdude-dz2px intentions don’t mean it was the right decision
@@domothebro2435 but to me this was my favourite fight. They were going all out. They didn't even hold back
@@mrdude-dz2px i never said there was a problem, with them going all out? I was just pointing out that they couldve animated it in a different way. Unless of course the manga drew it that way but I dont read them so i wouldn't know
I love how the entire episode they're like, "But what about Hinata tho?" She becomes one of the fan favorites so fast lmao.
it is funny how when it came out more people cared then normal for her and she became a fan fave due to this ep but now either due to hype or word of mouth they care the same amount now for this minor character who they know is boruto's mom lol..you would think with so much media out there today and people who drink and stuff that they would forget about why they like her lol...but i guess not once she took that L for naruto's sake freeing him they fell for her again...you would think back in 2009 when this was written that fans would not care cause we had no idea her end game and she barley existed in the manga so we were like oh wow back then and knew it mattered for her character and was not just a shock value death...these people today loving her makes me laugh cause shes so minor..just shows how great of a job kishi did at making you care about her at first and how we knew as early fans that her stuff with neji would come back around and boy did it wooh...its cool to see payoffs like that off build up...new shows could never play the long game like that..just by having her like naruto everyone likes her..a simple concept and add in the shy irony and girls fall for her extra hard....and then put her in this dire situation with naruto pinned watching and see him lose his innocence literally as she is stabbed...its like perfect drama...
1st Comment and 2nd Like, now that's impressive.
one of the best chapters, not only of naruto, but of the entire history of anime in general, a frantic fight, a spectacular soundtrack, an incredible direction, scenes full of despair and intrigue, and all that before one of the best villains what had naruto and anime
Thank you
Masashi Kishimoto, thank you Hayato Date (director of naruto y naruto shippuden) y thank you Yasuharu Takanashi (shippuden soundtrack composer
)
I love how during this arc they made sure Gai wasn't there because the outcome would've been different 😂😂😂
Lol 😂 correct 💯
Man this is easily the best reaction channel out there gahdamn
This was where Naruto peaked. The true arc of the entire show. They made it extremely hard on themselves to follow this up.
The 4th looking like a model sitting there.
He's (nagato) actually in a weakened state or else naruto would've died ten times over by now. .
This episode was under the same animation director from "Sasuke vs Orochimaru", "Hiruzen vs Orochimaru" and "Naruto vs Sasuke 1st season": Atsushi Wakabayashi. The key animation team was almost the same but the first 8 minutes with Shingo Yamashita appearance. Atsushi Wakabayashi is the mtf animation boss. Holy shit!
