He understand some complex feelings only after experiencing them for himself(like he understood familial love only with Jiraiya). He is yet to experience romantic love. But I still think he has a soft spot for Hinata especially, he has always been careful with her in a weird way even when they are just talking.
You really gotta give props to the anime creators. This scene is much stronger in anime because of great direction. In the manga it felt much less impactful and meaningful.

Some great episodes like Shikamaru grieving over Asuma's death with his dad doesn't even exist in the manga. But to call them "filler" as some people do when some of the greatest animators are working on those episodes is just ridiculous.
She lived kakashi so much...and with sasuke gone and hinata stabbed she's just in shock...like most people during this era....they really made a masterpiece of an arc

Kakashi had a fun, goofy, and serious attitude bundled into one person, and he was an amazing ninja. There wasn't much to not like about him, and that was before people actually learned about his backstory. Yeah, people may have *started out* liking him because he was hot/cool looking, but as time goes on in the anime he's shown as a genuinely likeable guy. Itachi was just a cool character, and when he died it wasn't actually heartbreaking because not much was known about him. It wasn't until the next two or three episodes that people were actually truly heartbroken about Itachi's death. Yeah, they're ninja and it's their job, but that doesn't mean you can't be sad about it.

Well, it's kinda a rabbit out of a hat kind of move. There wasn't much if any naruto hinata interaction in shippuden. So playing up her Flashbacks right before killing reeks of lazy story writing

One thing to remember. Naruto saw Pain, the one who killed Jiraya, his father Figure like Teacher wich he loved so much, instantly when he was summond in konoha. But he kept his calm and fought him with his own strenght. He saw his Village wich was really important to him devasted by Pain. But he keept being focused. Imediatly after seeing him he felt that Kakashi his Sensei was killed by Pain. But he still fought him as calmy as he could. He saw Geezer Frog, who taught him and who was close to him because of Jiraya being killed right in front of him but he didnt los his temper. But than when he saw Hinata who confessed her deep Love to him being tortuerd and killed right before his eyes he instantly went on the biggest Nine Tails Rage he ever had. The thing he endured up to this point is massive.

It was at this moment, Naruto realised that Hinata was far more important to him than he ever imagined. To the point he broke his promise to never use the Nine Tails chakra, just so he had a chance to kill Pain.

she was a top 10 character in polls for years...i think he originally was going to not kill her once he wrote that chapter like the week it came out she was never meant to be dead like say shizune or kakashi..just my take...it was not cause he was forced to bring her back the next week after backlash..he never meant to kill her....i think what happened was kakashi's backlash scarred him off prior to that month when he died and the reactions...my thing is i think he was going to have her live but wait to show it until after naruto and nagato speak to prove nagato is not that bad and thus did not deserve to be killed by naruto....but then he realized that was too late to have sakura heal her off screen or later on or have her knocked out for a few weeks..he had to show she was moving....
It's one thing when Naruto 1v1 Pain, since he asked not to be helped. But village watching how Hinata did her best in a 1v1 and not a single soul came to help her there, that's kinda cold ...
its the perfect character kishi set up for this moment to make us feel the pain and hate like naruto aka what pain wants..kishi was so smart here....he knew what he was doing...thats why its gotta be her...
It was week-to-week, fam. Japanese dub, filler episodes + hiatus (plural). Started before I entered highschool, and still wasn't finished by the time I graduated. This situation is probably the number one cause of people reading manga. If you wanted to know what happened next, you had to read it; there was no other option.
I can’t believe I was waiting months to watch Rana’s reaction and she just stay in shock watching. Amazing. I never expected to see more from the others
naruto is an a week to week period some arcs were released at once but some were not pain arc was actually the most crazy one becaus they released the episode's as they were made (mange got released an hour before production they took 6hours per episode) and after the production they started to brainstorm toghether for the next arcs

This moment reminds me so much of Mikasa backing Ereh between a battle ground, and him unlocking a power just like Naruto to save her. One of the most iconic moments in this series.
I remember reading this shit in the manga when it released and being amazed. The whole arc was amazing to read, and even more entertaining watching it animated. The Pain arc is probably my second favorite arc in the entire series, so fucking good.
whats funny is if she died there which she didn't or she died and there was no rinne rebirth either, it would be a perfect top tier tragic death for a kids show maybe at the very top like top 2 ever...lucky its not that kind of manga..her living matters to ending naruto's arc and she still has growth to do and an important few moments after this for the themes...
Especially the way the chapter before that ended on her confession. It was so beautiful. I gotta say even though the anime is great, there are some moments in the manga that unfortunately nearly impossible to replicate.

Anyway , having black zetsu as the ultimate minuplater was unsatisfying but a good call by the writter ... . ( if you read the aot's ending , u can easily differ a bad written ending with naruto ... )
i guess pre internet pre 2010 this stuff was brutal and maybe most people are naive innocent but the media i have seen online and made thats darker makes this look like kiddy stuff..we don't even see her get stabbed lol...but most people do not expect that in a kids show and usually are prepared for that stuff when they look it up...here its a built up character so its shocking to see...

This episode is one of my fav in general in all of naruto. The great story, great soundtrack, and the feeling of the main character actually losing which I find to be crazy.
Nahid and Rana this episode. I loved the manifestation of Hinata's Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists. Beautiful 💙 Six reactors, six stages of speechless, amazement, and pain(?). This episode's closing scene never fails to get a smile out of me. Sometimes Mickey can be annoying when great emotional scenes are happening because he's so determined to get an unnecessary try-hard joke in, just stop.
I have, to this day, not watched the anime and I started reading the manga when "shinobis" appeared but I remember feeling the pain when each page took a minute to load. Ah good times.

I feel like the the Normies "you will know Pain" counter had become like the Mob Psycho 100 counter. Every episode it goes up by a little bit. They started this episode at 65 and now they just jumped up to 80.
Naruto was week to week. It took the dub about 3 years to get through the Sasuke Retrieval arc. Then the fillers got Toonami cancelled for 4 years and Shippuden started airing on Disney XD super censored so everybody switched to sub which was up to Kakuzu and Hidan at the time.

One thing to remember. Naruto saw Pain, the one who killed Jiraya, his father Figure like Teacher wich he loved so much, instantly when he was summond in konoha. But he kept his calm and fought him with his own strenght.
He saw his Village wich was really important to him devasted by Pain. But he keept being focused.
Imediatly after seeing him he felt that Kakashi his Sensei was killed by Pain. But he still fought him as calmy as he could.
He saw Geezer Frog, who taught him and who was close to him because of Jiraya being killed right in front of him but he didnt los his temper.
But than when he saw Hinata who confessed her deep Love to him being tortuerd and killed right before his eyes he instantly went on the biggest Nine Tails Rage he ever had.
The thing he endured up to this point is massive.
One of my favourite episodes ever. God I love this ark, I'm so sad they are nearly finished with this ark but happy that they are watching it at the same time
To me after this arc (and the sasuke stuff that comes next) shippuden lulls until a certain someone shows up.
This series is 3 parts and this is the end of the second part. Sasuke “avenges” his clan and Naruto is recognized as the hero of the village.

I think they brightened up the childhood part (Hinata's view of her childhood) because we remember our childhood days like that.. mostly which we don't remember clearly.. something like that.. the corners are also brightened

she was a top 10 character in polls for years...i think he originally was going to not kill her once he wrote that chapter like the week it came out she was never meant to be dead like say shizune or kakashi..just my take...it was not cause he was forced to bring her back the next week after backlash..he never meant to kill her....i think what happened was kakashi's backlash scarred him off prior to that month when he died and the reactions...my thing is i think he was going to have her live but wait to show it until after naruto and nagato speak to prove nagato is not that bad and thus did not deserve to be killed by naruto....but then he realized that was too late to have sakura heal her off screen or later on or have her knocked out for a few weeks..he had to show she was moving....
It's one thing when Naruto 1v1 Pain, since he asked not to be helped. But village watching how Hinata did her best in a 1v1 and not a single soul came to help her there, that's kinda cold ...

naruto is an a week to week period some arcs were released at once but some were not pain arc was actually the most crazy one becaus they released the episode's as they were made (mange got released an hour before production they took 6hours per episode) and after the production they started to brainstorm toghether for the next arcs

I remember reading this shit in the manga when it released and being amazed. The whole arc was amazing to read, and even more entertaining watching it animated. The Pain arc is probably my second favorite arc in the entire series, so fucking good.

Especially the way the chapter before that ended on her confession. It was so beautiful. I gotta say even though the anime is great, there are some moments in the manga that unfortunately nearly impossible to replicate.
I was just really fascinated with Rana's face after the ending of this episode. So many questions filled my head.

if you do not know about the ending of the show and boruto it hurts but i bet it shocks them even more knowing about boruto and them as a couple at the end...its more confusing that way watching it after knowing where it goes lol

He got the six paths Chakra and the ms from obito and immediately unlocked his Susanoo . Remember the time indra immediately got his perfect Susanoo just because of having hagoromo's Chakra ... . Anyway , having black zetsu as the ultimate minuplater was unsatisfying but a good call by the writter ... . ( if you read the aot's ending , u can easily differ a bad written ending with naruto ... )
i guess pre internet pre 2010 this stuff was brutal and maybe most people are naive innocent but the media i have seen online and made thats darker makes this look like kiddy stuff..we don't even see her get stabbed lol...but most people do not expect that in a kids show and usually are prepared for that stuff when they look it up...here its a built up character so its shocking to see...

I watched while deployed. Only watched batches when my ship pulled in. This was the worst cliffhanger for me. No follow up for a month. So my reactions were alot like yalls
This show came out week to week, it took years. I watched it all through high school and college. Pain was released when I was in college and you had to wait week to week.
The dubbed episodes might have been released on a daily schedule in large batches/arcs but the orginals are week to week.

This episode is one of my fav in general in all of naruto. The great story, great soundtrack, and the feeling of the main character actually losing which I find to be crazy.

Naruto was week to week. It took the dub about 3 years to get through the Sasuke Retrieval arc. Then the fillers got Toonami cancelled for 4 years and Shippuden started airing on Disney XD super censored so everybody switched to sub which was up to Kakuzu and Hidan at the time.
