1. You say you're heart broken
Things didn't go your way.
So you're deep in contemplation
Think the blues are here to stay.
2.(..meanwhile this fellow over here)
He's filled with elation
his man's going come to save the day.
The future you imagine
might not go that way.
3.So you put your hopes in a promise
a promise for a better day.
The candidates will promise anything
as long as they're getting their way.
4.Well, they fed our fears a plenty,
kept everybody all afraid.
it may be hard to sleep at night,
with all those dreams you made.
