In 1964 i saw & heard Sonny Boy live in a small room above a pub in north London---it was the first authentic blues i ever heard .He was on N Grantz ,es blues tour of the uk-in between the big venue gigs most artists did small gigs .Sonny was so well recieved that he told the music press he was going to settle in the U.K. Every body was overjoyed-then he returned to the U.S. , and died a short time later. We were gutted ! Love the man ,his playing and singing- nobody comes close to it.

My Mum & dad was touring with Champion Jack Dupree and Sonny Boy introduced himself.
My mum said he was the kindest and gentle person she’d ever met.
