George A.Romero was so impressed with the film, that he gave Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright cameos as zombies in his fourth zombie film Land of the Dead. Dylan Moran, who plays David is a very funny stand-up comedian and actor. You should check out the British sitcom Black Books, in which Dylan Moran is very funny.
In the animated special features it is revealed that Diane survives. She goes into a wild rage avenging David and when the frenzy wears off climbs a tree and outlasts the horde. A happy ending. :)
I think they may have been joking about that a bit since it is never shown, but I like to believe that in that make believe world she actually did survive.
21:55 -- the fence-jumping scene. If you watch "Hot Fuzz," and "The World's End," that scene comes back. Bill Nighy is always great. He's in the other installments of the Cornetto Trilogy. He's also great as Davy Jones in the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" movies.

It's never explained in the movie but, according to director Edgar Wright, “It was some drunken thing where Ed and his friends had been shaving bits of their hair off.” Hence the bald spot. This was actually Nick Frost's own idea.
They had the idea to do a film of some kind like this while doing a British comedy show called "Spaced" (there's an Episode that has a couple of zombie references, I think he is playing Resident Evil during the episode too much). It was co-created and written by Simon Pegg and directed by Edgar Wright. It also stars Nick Frost, and the girl who is the leader of the alternative group in this film. It is worth watching if you get the chance, although it is very British and a little surreal.
So excited for this reaction. One of my favorite films of all time (along with pretty much all of Edgar Wright's films). Thumbs up in advance because I know you're going to love it! There are some great nods in the film to the great British TV show 'Spaced' that Simon Pegg co-starred in and co-wrote, and Edgar Wright directed. Also, a lot of the zombies in the film were fans of the show who they let be in the film.
I'm happy to see you were able to get this reaction resolved and posted. After the movies where you are in your Kazplay costumes, I think this is one of your best movie reactions of the year.
Brilliant reaction again, Kazzy. You're one of my favourite youtube reaction channels. This is a very funny film, I always enjoy it and I enjoyed your reaction to it. I recommend these war films Memphis Belle, Kelly's Heroes, Good Morning Vietnam & a comedy musical: The Blues Brothers - all excellent films. Keep up the fantastic work.
one of the funniest things about this movie is when you notice all the people that were in the movie actually come back as zombies in the horde. The zombie that comes in the front door of their flat was the guy behind Shaun at the corner store in line. The Zombie that was pushing the shopping cart was the guy he worked with who kept getting on his phone. Also, related to that phone call, if you listen to what he says, it is strongly implied that he was the one trying to buy weed from Ed at the beginning of the movie. There is so much tight, interconnected writing in all of these movies.
Icecream drumstick lol. It's called a Cornetto. And on the subject of this wonderful English ice cream indulgence, this film is Part 1 of the Cornetto Trilogy as they are now called. :)
Edgar Wright Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are friends and worked together from the beginning. The Cornetto trilogy, as it is called, has many repeat participants, which makes it even funner.
While I love this film. Hot Fuzz blows it out the water. The entire Cornetto trilogy are comedic satires of specific genres. You’re favourite movie is probably reflective of which genre you prefer. Zombies, Action, or Sci-Fi. Then again, there are a great many people who love Zombie and Sci-Fi more and still count Hot Fuzz as their favourite. It is a comedic masterpiece. There is literally a joke every 5 seconds. You need to watch it at least 3 times to catch everything. Also, the Cornetto trilogy are not sequels. They do not feature the same characters. Merely some of the same actors in different roles. They are spiritual successors to each other more than anything.
Since no one said it so far, the "rage-infected monkeys" thing was a direct reference to 28 Days Later. And in this movie they said it was debunked, lol
I grew up watching this movie a lot and its still by far my favorite horror/comedy. I remember my mum owning it on VCR...damn the old days and of course it was the first film from Edgar Wright that I've seen. The dynamic duo between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is amazing. Thats one Cornetto Trilogy film down and now remains, Hot Fuzz and The World's End. Hopefully you get to check those 2 films out.
In all his zombie movies, George Romero...who practically created the genre...never specified as to *WHAT* caused the zombie epidemic in the first place. The "rage-infected monkeys" theory (35:58) was a joking reference to the movie *28 Days Later* .
This movie is a big fat love letter to George Romero and his zombie trilogy.. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968), DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978), and DAY OF THE DEAD (1985)... tons of specific references (music, dialogue, characters, jokes) to those films in this that once you see them, this movie plays very differently. George is actually the first person Edgar Wright showed the movie to once it was done, and he loved it.
Great reactions to a great movie, as everyone else is recommending Hot Fuzz and The Worlds End are must see, but if you haven't done it yet (I've been dealing with a loss in the family so haven't been on), I would love to see your reaction to Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. Has anyone seen the Edgar Wright movie about 'The Sparks Brothers'? It is a tribute to a rather eccentric band. Is it any good? The Corona thing kind of put a quash on its release, and relatively few people know about the amazing music Sparks has produced.
Please watch V for Vendetta on Friday the 5th of November aka Guy Fawkes Night aka Bonfire Night for all your UK followers 🔥🇬🇧👍🏻
Love Simon and Nick. Dylan Moran (aka David) is hilarious in Black Books.
Love this movie and great reaction as always
Surprised you haven't seen this yet but glad you enjoyed it.
Not really sequels, just movies made by the same people. I also Recommend "Paul" which also stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
