Considering the markups of the character/wengine/skill upgrade materials, I still buy them from the convenience store. Char & disc exp are too expensive though, so I avoid them. But later in the game as our accounts approach being one year old, dennies won't be an issue anymore so we can buy everything each week.
the bangboo store is just not usefull right now but once we get interknot level 60 and all xp gets turned to denny plus we wont be needing to build more than one character at a time we will definitely buy a few thins every week mainly disc xp and skill mats
Once I learned that farming Hollow Zero currencies were battery free, I buy all my top-up mats from the Scott Outpost shop. You can also buy dennies there.
I've noticed that the certifications are 1.17 in the video. These should be 1.5 per card. I only checked the math 3 times 😂and for some reason didn't use a calculator for that bit. Also was pointed out Investigator logs come in packs of 2 so mark up is 76.4%
You're also missed the fact that the store gives you investigator logs in packages of 2, so the markup is closer to that general nearly 100% markup that we see for other materials. I think the plating situation is the same, but I'm less certain about it. In general, it seems that you're paying almost double at the 141 compared to HIA, but not significantly more than that.
@@katherinek6166 I TOTALLY missed this. Thanks. The ether plating just has a x1 on it so unless its a visual issue I think it really is randomly much worse
Your math seems corect, but you do ignore all the other sources of dennies the game gives you, which lower the worth of them by a huge margin. You still probably shoudnt buy them, but Dennies are the cheapest currency in the game while energy and other timegated currencies come at a premium. So without actually doing the math with all of those included this math leaves way too much out of the equation imo.
if you dont upgrade anything maybe, im always at 0 denny even with battlepass, skills cores and level breaks are very expensive and even turning all your hollow currency into denny makes you go negative
The only thing I use the convenience store is for if I run out of energy entirely and I need just that last little bit to level a character up or upgrade their skill. I just grumble and buy the last one from the store. But yeah it's pretty overpriced.
i usually only buy mats for characters i am actually farming in said week, and weapon xp. somehow i feel that weapon exp is more scarce than dennies, maybe that's due to the fact we don't have a passive weapon exp farm like Genshin and HSR have
I agree with the weapon xp seeming scarce, I only level main DPS weapons past 50 currently (because I'm still fleshing out a broader roster) so I havn't really felt a huge pinch for those mats but when pre-farming for Caesar it WAS very apparent that I couldn't rely on picking up many of the Weapon xp from anywhere that wasn't targeted farming
.... i understand if your rushing a character but Dennys aren't a problem if you play at a reasonable pace. Like not rushing. I've never had any shortage.
This is totally true but if you are leveling your characters at that relaxed a pace then you also should be acquiring the materials from daily stamina usage faster than you need them and therefore don't need the convenience store
Or you could be an F2P masochist like me and level up every character in every way at an equal pace while also doing all quests and city exploration, including trust levels and Hollow Zero..................... Dennies are a problem for me, but not nearly as much of one as the very small daily limit of character xp🥲
The only worthy things to buy at 141 are the advanced bangboo ascension and situational items like cat food if you want to get inky, tactical chip/certification seals if you are 1-2 chip/seal short.
Im always buy from them until i reach IK 50 and im broke immediately leveling for 60 😂😂 Even before 1.2, i saved 1,5 mil dennies for Caesar, Piper and Lucy(just satisfying up SoC team at the same timr) and it goes to 0 really quick and now im broke again 😂 (all lvl 50 with Piper and Lucy unlocking A, B, C and Caesar A, B, C, D)
I could tell it was a bad deal, and my instincts told me not to do it; but when out of energy, desperate to upgrade my characters I fell for it many times…. Wish I knew this 10 years ago..
Yeah...But I'm also lazy when it comes to combat, as my fingers get tired after a while. So I'd rather fork over the dennies for the upgrade materials.
The convenience store is absolutely garbage. In case I am DESPERATE for 1 SINGLE seal I can spend 20+ energy worth of dennys to get it. I just dont see it EVER being useful even if you are one off from upgrading you are just better off waiting for the battery. Also its not like it guarantees that it would have the item that you need even if at these inflated prices.
@@newshortsk I only build/play the characters I like, and I'm not in any kind of rush. Plus the endgame content doesn't interest me much anyways. So even in a year or so when I finally have 6 characters, I'll still probably ignore it.

The issue is that i havr better places to spend my battery charges on than the last 2 materials, so getting it from the shop is still a reliable source when you're trying to grind other components
2:20 this is a bit misleading. Yes battery/stamina is more efficient at higher IK, but as long as you are below IK 50, every stamina you generate naturally over time (the one capped at 240/240) is lower efficiency. So if you spend your battery at sub 50 IK and reach 50 faster, you are making up for those battery with higher efficiency stamina generated naturally. You should use batteries to accelerate getting to endgame and unlocking content whenever you are blocked by IK progression and don't have or want to do the side commissions/etc Generally the only time you should be saving batteries is in expectation of a new drive disc domain or upgrade materials (usually paired with a new agent), in case you want to gear/max them as soon as they come out.
You're right actually, although the faster you push through in terms of days the less of the passive resources you gain from log ins etc result in needing to farm more....but then you are doing it at that top level. I think every video I've ever seen has said the same thing. Hold your batteries they say..I need to think lol
@@CombatPandaZenlessZoneZero Yeah, still like the video of course. My gripe is more of a pet-peeve and really is a small nitpick since regardless, the advice doesn't technically 'hurt' the account either way.
Interesting data, but HIA is not the only source of Dennies. The way I see it, it's just an option, because at the end, the currency is always time. I always caught myself lacking materials instead of Denny, so I always empty their shop and never had issues. Granted, I'm rank 50 and I'm keeping my teams at level 40 until comissions demands more, I have yet to play through the last patch.
The moment you have to farm for Dennies you are spending that time on Dennies. Multiple people have mentioned they are not pushing multiple characters to 60 for end game so therefore are not struggling with Dennies and I respect that
That's not a 1 answer question. If you have any characters that you still want to level (and a lot of supports you may not want to max as they do their job at level 55 or even 45) then the order is generally Character XP-->W-Engine XP-->Skills. Also if you are looking forward to any characters then pre-farming is a good idea, I use seelie.me to pre-farm (I just select 1-2 agents that match the upcoming characters role/element to get it to give me the right materials to farm e.g Caesar I used Ben for W-engine and agent levels and Billy for skill levels) Most of your energy when all of these things are fine will go into farming drive disks to get those perfect substat roles if THAT is ever done. Then id just start stocking up, getting 300 investigator logs for when I know I need a new character, 250 Specialized tactical chips (overkill this is to get all skills to 12) these sorts of things.
