The game designer should create an environment where players can feel addicted to the TV mode, rather than remove it completely. Those TV mode was taken from old JRPG games, where pixelated people can explore places while encountering enemies here and there. I'm sure mihoyo will find a way to make the TV mode more engaging than what we have right now
Got to say, barely any tv mode in this story sucks I know some players thinks it boring and time consuming But i like it, they even made it creative it sometimes like the horror arc was really cool I hope they don’t fully get rid of it
I love your videos. It's concise and comparative, with a good amount of efforts into the montage, and no subjectivity; you just give infos. Thanks for your work.
I got what they were trying to do with TV-mode - and I didn’t mind it sometimes, but it was only good in short bursts. I wouldn’t want it removed entirely, just truncated.
I'll be honest, with the removal of the TV mode, I feel like I'm playing HI3 style mainstory open world (running a few laps and areas locked off when theres enemies and stuff). The TV was a chance of pace, I hope they put it back in other events atleast :')
This is exactly what it was like. I didn't even really think of it like that. The TVs made it like a Rogue dungeon crawl. And it can be interesting like that story even last patch or that new one coming up
@@vinceunknown1935 How does that even justify removing the dungeon crawling aspect completely from a mode specific to dungeon crawling? You already had combat commissions, so why is exploration one coming under fire? A reskin HI3 is not what people wanted either.
The mundaneness of the tv mode highlights the excitement when you finally engage in the real fight. If its removed, the combat wouldnt feel rewarding to get through. Instead of slowly removing tv mode, they really should have it overhauled. Seamless TV movement instead of what feels like a solid 1 second getting through 1 tile, maybe an electric current flowing across TVs as fast as a your finger or your your mouse can move through, Better UI (more vibrant colors other than dull gray for a start). More visuals such as an even more individually identifiable themes for each chapter. Also maybe even the parts that would need reading be more dynamic than from seeing 1 tv screen Such a shame because surprisingly even in optional story quests, they manage to make it feel like it explores something new. Such as when there is a TV pokemon basically, detective esque story quests, and plants vs zombie cannon combat thingy.
You hit the nail. I think the role of TV in story mode also enhance the story bits. I never hated the TV mode, and i would say CH3 is peak utilization of TV mode as an story medium. (also ft. The Prophecy mission) When i played the CH4, the absent of TV made me lost track of the story so fast. The dialogues just get dumped *WHILE* on combat. Wished people just stop bashing over an uncommon piece of game-design, sure it has some part where it get tedious, but completely removing it? I felt that i have *no time to breathe* after oxidized flashy-over the top animation.
That's kinda what they're doing. But instead of slowly updating the TV mode, they're minimizing it's use until they have the new version ready (supposedly around 1.4)
0:23 that's the best graphics settings I've seen. I'm really bad at noticing subtle changes, but you made it so easy to see them. Overall great video, insta sub!
Right? The TV being removed is a huge qol improvement now my progress will no longer be hindered or slowed to a crawl, now we can just get right into it
@@vinceunknown1935 not being removed, never was. You'd be pulling away the only thing our Proxies could do for the other story characters. They'd be irrelevant to everything. So you can make your progress through the story and do a few at a time while you do your daily energy grind so you have something different to do everyday *shrugs*
I personally liked the TVs, they where a unique mechanic and, as an Riddle fan, interesting. At least we can still have them in side missions(and hopefully events).

Yeah, they did some neat stuff with it so it's unfortunate that they feel they need to remove it entirely. If they do have to remove it, hopefully they can replace it with new types of unique gameplay elements and interactions instead, as the TV mode helped keep stages from just being nothing but fights over and over again.
I think it definitely needed some more work especially the part where the combat feels like a punishment, but removing it is taking a bit far hopefully next version wouldn't feel so incomplete without tv..
Goodness Gracious. Fairy Auto exploring available after you complete Commissions feels lile Fairy is just straight up replacing US the Proxy siblings. They already do almost everything in the story and the siblings are just there to tell fairy what to do. Seriously. We are just Proxies in story but gameplay wise it Fairy the True Legwndary Proxy.
The changes to the story mode feel just awful to get through. The lack of TV mode has completely erased Phaethon and Fairy from existence, and the delivery of just walking around talking to people is mind-numbingly boring.
I really love the ZZZ Character Menu theme music, Its also somehow a really good lore/informative music, thanks for constantly using it in your ZZZ vids @CatWithBlueHat
The coffee that gives 80 is by default the only real choice now. The other ones all still add up to a value of 80 by just triggering 1 double drop, but it restricts what gets that double drop, where as you can pick whatever card you want with the extra 20 from the 80 coffee cup
Wait wtf? Jane Doe story mission was good and all but as a 1 time thing (or ocasional) not as a permanent replacement for the story system. The reason I quit HSR was because of how slow and boring the walking from point A to point B just to trigger a dialog scene is. TV mode was inmersive and made sense since you're a freaking hacker... what an horrible change tbh.
Man the TV Mode missing from the main story felt weird cuz in the main story, it could've went better if there was a TV mode and not just a wall of text explaining what happened or what did Proxy do
I'm enjoying it, but as a fan of the TV mode, I do feel like ZZZ lost something here. ZZZ now just feels like any other mihoyo games out there. I think they should have improved the TV mode by giving it more reward or challenge in exploration to make the players feel engaged in it, rather than removing it completely. I'm not a game designer, but I'm sure there are people in the company who can figure it out.
They removed the part that showed what the siblings do as proxies because stupid kids like you can't comprehend any other gameplay except walking and attacking.
Amazing video! I can't believe the amount of changes that they made. Once i hit level 50, i felt like things got repetitive. This is going to help streamline the endgame. Great changes for the coffee and battery. I liked the TV too, but those are great changes as well.
@@gustasyaeful well as some ppl said from above, since the story is focus on the new gang and not the sibling themself so no Tv mode just like Jane one so it kinda make sense now.
the siblings were incredibly boring anyway their role was super easy to fill by just making the cunning hares the protagonists and making one of em a hacker. i feel like most of the time belle and wise jist ruin the flow of the story
Regarding exploration mission frequency in the main story: in the story segments where Belle and Wise are not the ones in the Hollow, there is no reason to use TV mode, and the devs are now re-evaluating how much of the story requires Belle and Wise to be in the Hollow. Jane's covert op in the Mountain Lion Gang is a prime example of this. They are reducing the number of exploration missions in a way that makes sense canonically and optimizing the TV experience where it doesn't. That's fine.
I don't know why people hate the TV parts so much. They're pretty fun imo. No problem with them cleaning up animations and streamlining the experience, but I hope they don't disappear from the game entirely.
I doubt they are removing it. They'd most likely change it up a bit. Because the main characters would end up mostly pointless to the story. They are Proxies. Their concept would have to change entirely. Pretty much a different way of guiding our fighters through Hollows...but that change would cost a lot of time and money. Might as well make a different game.
Because it isnt that fun. The gameplay boils down to "press whatever direction the game tells you to press" The puzzles are all easy, and they give you the answer anyway. Its not like theres actually exploration involved because the stages are extremely linear. It doesn't feel like you're actually playing a game, it feels like you're sitting in a car with a driving instructor telling you what to press and when, except its impossible to make a mistake. The devs only implemented it in the first place as a story telling device to save on costs and dev time, but over time they wanted to phase it out for actual 3d exploration anyway
As a fan of the TV mode, I do feel like ZZZ lost something here. ZZZ now just feels like any other mihoyo games out there. from what i understood, they are holding back to work on it. probably be a few special events and surveys to see what people really like from it before adding it back and making it feel more story relevant. i enjoy the tv's and like how it works lore wise with being a proxy, but there were days i did something else because i just didn't feel like i had time to get involved with the tvs. maybe a way to save and exit out of tv mode, then come back later, or was that already a thing i missed?
I am personally glad they remove tv mode from the main story and Hollow Zero mode, too. It's like a chore and takes too much time to play. I like to see and play my character more than seeing a TV 😅
im sorry but jumping from tile to tile with a tv skin is not unique. ZZZ's appeal has always been its stylization in general and they always promoted the game with their action combat. im sorry that it was removed if you liked it but man tv mode was an absolute bore to me

Those TV mode was taken from old JRPG games, where pixelated people can explore places while encountering enemies here and there.
I'm sure mihoyo will find a way to make the TV mode more engaging than what we have right now
114 combat observation data 6 exploration observation data 😭
Got to say, barely any tv mode in this story sucks
I know some players thinks it boring and time consuming
But i like it, they even made it creative it sometimes like the horror arc was really cool
I hope they don’t fully get rid of it

I REALLY hope Pulchra is a playable agent in the near future 😭
Shes gotta be. No way this is our only trip to the outer ring
Game keeps getting better and better
I got what they were trying to do with TV-mode - and I didn’t mind it sometimes, but it was only good in short bursts. I wouldn’t want it removed entirely, just truncated.
Thank you for putting this together!
It's really impressive just how much they do with each patch. Tons of awesome quality of life stuff too!
3:10 I actually cried seeing that: "Finally!"
Ngl, I randomly pressed r3 last night when playing to try to lock on an enemy and it surprisingly worked.😅😅😅
I don't get it? Wasn't it always r3?
@@SpikeTheWolf I didn't even know the lock in mechanic existed
All these updates improve the game, I love that. anyone got the music from 7:13?
Just a minor request but unlikely. Add weather options for free roam? Rain and snow.
But that’s just me. They’d make great ambiance videos
Thank you so much for being THIS quick!
And it can be interesting like that story even last patch or that new one coming up
bruh....
Worst part is that they removed exploration mode as well.
@oyshikaadi9631 To each their own but some people just do not have time to play chips challenge anymore
@@vinceunknown1935 How does that even justify removing the dungeon crawling aspect completely from a mode specific to dungeon crawling? You already had combat commissions, so why is exploration one coming under fire?
A reskin HI3 is not what people wanted either.
backup battery charge and coffee buff was prob my fav part about this
Thanks for the video! I just used yours to review the changes in ZZZ 1.2.
So many QoL changes already???? Absolute FIRE 🔥
Thanks for the work in putting this together
The mundaneness of the tv mode highlights the excitement when you finally engage in the real fight. If its removed, the combat wouldnt feel rewarding to get through. Instead of slowly removing tv mode, they really should have it overhauled. Seamless TV movement instead of what feels like a solid 1 second getting through 1 tile, maybe an electric current flowing across TVs as fast as a your finger or your your mouse can move through, Better UI (more vibrant colors other than dull gray for a start). More visuals such as an even more individually identifiable themes for each chapter. Also maybe even the parts that would need reading be more dynamic than from seeing 1 tv screen
Such a shame because surprisingly even in optional story quests, they manage to make it feel like it explores something new.
(also ft. The Prophecy mission)
When i played the CH4, the absent of TV made me lost track of the story so fast. The dialogues just get dumped *WHILE* on combat.
Wished people just stop bashing over an uncommon piece of game-design, sure it has some part where it get tedious, but completely removing it?
I felt that i have *no time to breathe* after oxidized flashy-over the top animation.
@abstractpiles it also lagged my already potato laptop too with 13gb download. Wouldn't be as much of an issue saving resources through tv mode
corridor simulator is not exciting. They are muktiple gamemodes for excitement. This is ass and ruins the game
That's kinda what they're doing. But instead of slowly updating the TV mode, they're minimizing it's use until they have the new version ready (supposedly around 1.4)
W bro wants to experience ass to get to peak. Holy cope. Hope you are able to get a better pc soon tho
Devs really listened ♥️
0:23 that's the best graphics settings I've seen. I'm really bad at noticing subtle changes, but you made it so easy to see them.
Overall great video, insta sub!
The QOL changes are INSANE!
They're just changing it up a bit.
OR they could keep the TV content away from the story and only for side content. So you can make your progress through the story and do a few at a time while you do your daily energy grind so you have something different to do everyday *shrugs*
I personally liked the TVs, they where a unique mechanic and, as an Riddle fan, interesting.
At least we can still have them in side missions(and hopefully events).
Same. I feel thats what makes ZZZ distinct from its sister games. Genshin has its open world, star rail is semi open, Honkai is a blend of all types.
So many great quality of life upgrades.
I love that even more than 'new content' it shows love and care for the game & its players.
Very happy with these.
They cooked with this update!
When Dev priority players experience than their ego.
Thank you for the wonderful summary of the updates! Now I know whats coming and cant wait to play it all!
FINALLY. I hated the weekly boss limit. Considering at the later levels each agent needs like, 3-4 for each level. Thats like a full year if you want to get 2 teams up to max core skill.
It took me a month and a half from when I first started playing to max out Nicole's, Rina's and Zhu Yuans core passives from the drop rates. I just finished it this week.
So many good changes this update. The QOL changes like Team presets, backup charge, and unlimited time change are probably my favorites, but I was looking forward to 80% of these.
Ill be honest, I was mostly hyped for the Squad Preset system
so much qol! im glad i gave ZZZ another try!
I completely forgot about the tv mode exploration in chapter 4 no wonder it felt so fast to finish the chapter
Think of how fast it will be to get shit done when TV mode is gone for good
Chap 4 feels rushed to hell without the TVs...
maybe I'm a weirdo, but I really like the TV exploration stuff. especially in hollow zero, gives it a fun rouge lite element to it for me.
This is actually crazy that they’re removing the TV mode. I figured since it was part of what made ZZZ unique they would keep it no matter what, it’s great to hear them listening to the player’s thoughts and opinions!
They aren't removing it entirely, but it will be much less in the future

As someome who literally started playing 2 days ago, these changes are pretty nice.
I was so confused with the "walk around as your agent" change and yet only seeing the MCs. Thank you for this clarification (that it's only newer people, until 1.4 when all people).
Does anyone know the song being played from 7:10 onwards? It sounds so good
One cool thing
Thhe crosswalk on Luminasquare's stop lights are Live
Meaning its going green and red and cars move and stops.
Really Nice~
What’s the song at 7:11? It’s so fire
One more to add,
While fighting, the on-field character conditions (health, energy) widened, much visually comfortable to notice the threshold for the required amount of energy for enhanced skills.
What ost starts playing at 7:10?
these are not included in the video because i assume people only play with mouse+keyboard on PC, but using **controller** i noticed the following after update:
1. scratch cards from howl/granny are way easier to complete now with analog stick
2. the controller now "auto detects" on game startup, no need to hit the start button on main screen to use the controller
it may seem insignificant to most people but an improvement is an improvement
what's the 2nd BGM starting at 7:10?
I hope they won't remove TV mode completly cuz i actually liked it. I also feel like it made ZZZ more unique.
Okay, but what's the music that plays at 7:10? It's not credited anywhere in the description.
Well they put the credit as hoyomix because the music they’re using is from ZZZ but hoyomix hasn’t officially released the music yet so I don’t think they’ll credit the specific tracks until it’s officially released. Although I don’t think I’ve heard the 7:10 track anywhere in ZZZ before and I’m also looking for it.

The closest one I could find to this track is a track called “Look At Me” by George Okuku. Unfortunately, it’s got lyrics and is much slower than the track used in this video 😞 I wish I could find this version instead😅
Its great that they added more levels for hollow zero license. This mode is fun again!
Nice QOL updates, I dislike the tv mode removal tho. It was really fun and interactive.
@@arnmercer7488 same, i just wanted shorter animations and less interuptions during it
I think it definitely needed some more work especially the part where the combat feels like a punishment, but removing it is taking a bit far hopefully next version wouldn't feel so incomplete without tv..

7:11 theme name please
Man i love the tv mode in the story mission, it's really unique
Goodness Gracious. Fairy Auto exploring available after you complete Commissions feels lile Fairy is just straight up replacing US the Proxy siblings.
They already do almost everything in the story and the siblings are just there to tell fairy what to do.
Seriously. We are just Proxies in story but gameplay wise it Fairy the True Legwndary Proxy.
How do I use the fairy system thingy?
i mean ,AI supposed to make our work easier ,main purpose of their existence .
Remember they built up Phaethon to glory without Fairy. It's just there to speed things up.

Great video. Loved the music
The changes to the story mode feel just awful to get through. The lack of TV mode has completely erased Phaethon and Fairy from existence, and the delivery of just walking around talking to people is mind-numbingly boring.
You are completely right
ZZZ uniqueness gone.
I really love the ZZZ Character Menu theme music, Its also somehow a really good lore/informative music, thanks for constantly using it in your ZZZ vids @CatWithBlueHat
This is nuts. Thank you Hoyo!!!
Whats the name of the BGM at 7:41???
The coffee that gives 80 is by default the only real choice now. The other ones all still add up to a value of 80 by just triggering 1 double drop, but it restricts what gets that double drop, where as you can pick whatever card you want with the extra 20 from the 80 coffee cup
I am still mad that unable to read Genshin types actually got TV Mode remove, it was such a cool and unique story telling method.
Great production. Nice job on the video!
Man the TV Mode missing from the main story felt weird cuz in the main story, it could've went better if there was a TV mode and not just a wall of text explaining what happened or what did Proxy do
To those who are complaining about the TV being removed from the main story: you’re probably still going to enjoy the game, so don’t worry
I'm enjoying it, but as a fan of the TV mode, I do feel like ZZZ lost something here. ZZZ now just feels like any other mihoyo games out there.

Did they actually removed removed TV mode? What about exploration from HDD?
It lost something, and its closer and closer being just a Honkai clone.
They removed the part that showed what the siblings do as proxies because stupid kids like you can't comprehend any other gameplay except walking and attacking.
@@ardyisdeniralg9147 They are not removing it completely just from the main story missions. It is being optimized for other parts of the game relax.
Amazing video! I can't believe the amount of changes that they made. Once i hit level 50, i felt like things got repetitive. This is going to help streamline the endgame. Great changes for the coffee and battery. I liked the TV too, but those are great changes as well.
Ngl in the new story mode, it feels like Phaethon is useless😅 because the lack of TV
@@gustasyaeful well as some ppl said from above, since the story is focus on the new gang and not the sibling themself so no Tv mode just like Jane one so it kinda make sense now.
The removal of the tv mode just made them a side character now.
the siblings were incredibly boring anyway their role was super easy to fill by just making the cunning hares the protagonists and making one of em a hacker. i feel like most of the time belle and wise jist ruin the flow of the story
Im ready for a 1 hour walk with Caesar in the right camera angle ...
All of you are
So glad they didn't completely do away with tv mode! I really enjoy it personally.
The gameplay boils down to "press whatever direction the game tells you to press"
The puzzles are all easy, and they give you the answer anyway.
I just wish they’d toggle it for settings, people get so rude and defensive if they say you want to keep it and like it.
@@jaybinay50hey doesn’t matter right.

No..your like 2% of players who actually like the tv mode so it's perfect that they removed it completely!!
from what i understood, they are holding back to work on it. probably be a few special events and surveys to see what people really like from it before adding it back and making it feel more story relevant. i enjoy the tv's and like how it works lore wise with being a proxy, but there were days i did something else because i just didn't feel like i had time to get involved with the tvs. maybe a way to save and exit out of tv mode, then come back later, or was that already a thing i missed?
@@zinbrew They talked about the tv in the game devs video. I'll check it out later
