Catalina Linding lol, jokes going to be on you! Marilyn NEVER said that! I can't help rolling my eyes every time I see this ridiculous "quote" of her. I don't know which one is worse. That one or the other "quote" about "madness is genius..." and with the latter, the fact that Marilyn's mother, Gladys, had a history of mental illness, was something Marilyn knew all too well of. Starting at a very young age, her mother could not take care of her properly due to Gladys being in and out of mental hospitals, which subsequently Marilyn was in and out of foster homes. Well I've said more than intended. Back to you and your tattoo! Well um, I would of said to you do your research on Marilyn's REAL quotes a little better before you go permanently ink some bs "quote" on your body! But probably don't matter now since this was from 4 years ago! You may not even see this, but what I'm really trying to do is to educate anyone else who watches this video and reads the comments (cause you're definitely not the first to misquote MM, and sadly not the last either) who think Marilyn has said this is wrong.

Funny because numerous people over the years told me I reminded them of her and at first I was not sure what to make if that until I researched her past what media and studio execs presented. The funny part is the statement you make above my Dad said to me about me when I was a teenager.

Every time I see her, I get sad. She's the poster girl for the illusion of fame.
I wonder what it was like to be her. People would say it would be a dream come true to see marilyn when you look in the mirror.. But what was her feeling towards the world.. who was this mysterious lost angel..?
She had terrible fear and insecurity. In spite of her brazenness, these traits were ALWAYS with her. She drank and took pills to self-medicate her terrible feelings. She really had no self-esteem.
Missitabomb, you are somewhat misinformed. The studio she was contracted with, 20th Century Fox, ran terrible smear campaigns against her when she was alive in an effort to suppress her from challenging their all pervasive authority. She was a real rebel and was not OK with how they were abusing her. Among the things they did was embellish a lot of the internal struggle she dealt with. I'm not saying she wasn't challenged by issues, she was, but not to the extent that Fox made her out to be in the press. Sadly, this story - Fox's version of her behavior/mental health - is what has stuck historically. Also, much of the medication she was initially taking were legitimately prescribed by doctors. It is these doctors who hold some responsibility for overmedicating her in the first place. Eventually, she did become very addicted to the prescribed medication - as would anyone who was being given instruction to take so much.
