Oh, Simon, you’re the only one here on Notion TH-cam who answers the questions I haven’t yet asked. Your second item on the list is the answer to my Phased Project Management heart’s desire!
    Thank you, so much. 4:17

I watched most Notion setups for hours, in this video I only saw a glimpse of your setup and by far it’s the most realistic, artistic, smart way to build one. I’m so curious how you built it, you really gamified the process in a smart way.

So much dopamine 😂.. with adhd, notion amazes me, but can be very overwhelming. It's also easy to neglect if I just don't use it, like any planner system. But these newest features really are enticing me to use it again, because I couldn't find a good way to set up automations for recurring tasks. I'm so excited for buttons!

This is really going to turbocharge your templates; I’m looking forward to upgrading to 3.0

I've been using the buttons as quick capture entries. Batch complete or reschedule tasks. And sync block quick navigation to access my most frequented pages via peek view anywhere in my Notion. Great QoL update from Notion.

Thank you so much for the video :) When I first tried buttons it wasn't that intuitive to setup so.. tbh I was waiting for the video like this :D

Hiya - just found your account via the finance planner (1 year old video)! Loved the structure but when it came to recurring expenses / income I happily jumped up and down because I just learned about the new buttons feature.
Very cool use cases you're showing here :) I'm still quite at the beginning of my notion adventure and have so far automated habit tracking and making new "auto-filled" entries for my databases.
Exciting to see all the posibilities I might use in the future!

Without the ability to set true recurring tasks, without the ability to set reminders in recurring templates that pop-up when the template is activated, and no sound when a reminder comes onto a smartphone or tablet, I cannot make the complete switch to Notion. I still have to use other apps. Too bad, because I like Notion, but it is missing some very basic functionality.

Can't wait to use 3.0, I was wondering how we go about getting the template with the new icons, if we haven't bought the Icon pack yet?

Fairly new to notion! In idea number three, could you specify tasks to generate for a specific day of the week? Like I work at a non profit and every Tuesday I want to check my grant writing calendar etc. Can I make that generate on specific days like this?

Hey, thanks for sharing this video! I've have been using buttons for a while now and it's helping to save a lot of time. I have a question though, is there a way to create an URL where I can save it to my bookmarks bar in order to activate this button directly from any other website?
If i'm creating a quick note on something, I'd rather click on a bookmark that opens my template rather than opening the notion page where that button is located and only then perform the command..

Been followed your channel for a while since i use Notion , Simon . Really appreciate what you did there and you're my inspiration for making my own life OS . Just one question though , how did you put your icon on toggle list name ?

Ah thanks my friend! Ah yes - I used an @ mention of the page and it displays the page name and icon as a link! cheers

for the button custom dependant task for regular actions.. why don't you just add those tasks as part of a template? whats the difference?

Hey Simon and or the Better Creating Community, I'm trying to set up Parent and Subtasks using Notion buttons but facing an issue. When I go into the button configuration, the dropdown menu for Parent and Subtask shows my existing tasks, which are not the tasks I want to set as default for my new blog post workflow. I can set up default tasks that are not parent-sub task relation but the Parent & Subtask seems a bit more complete. Hope this makes sense. How can I set it up so my button generates the specific Parent and Subtasks I need?

  • @marianardey3121

May I assign a task to someone and creat a rule that only allows that particular person to update the status or mark the check box?

I wish you could create something that’s ready to go out the box for students (nursing&medical) 😅

It’s great for editing multiple databases at once, reducing the steps for creating things like repeated dependent task lists, and it makes updating multiple database columns fast and easy. Loads of other great videos on this. I’m using them all the time for smoother navigation and quick actions I regularly do in notion when on mobile.

A little piece of advice from me: avoid putting your face at the corner of the video: it’s annoying! I came here to learn something about Notion, I don’t need your face at all, it’s distracting. Moreover, when you are so expressive and overacted. 😘😘😘

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks. I also have a lot of advice saying the opposite. I’m going to stick with it since data videos with me on the screen at same time always have longer watch time suggesting it’s better for more people. :)
