Thanks! I've been trying to figure out how to add my template to my button for over 20 minutes. You saved me a lot of time! Edit: You're explain nation was also perfect. Not too long but easy to follow.
This was helpful. I am new to Notion and to buttons. I have a few businesses to manage besides personal stuff and know i can use some automation. Thanks for a great video
Hi I like your content but for someone new please start the topic right away. It's 2:30 in to the video and your only just starting. Leave the other stuff to the end so people who stick around listen to it because they fully like your content. Thanks. Keep up the good work
Hey, thanks for sharing this video! I've have been using buttons for a while now and it's helping to save a lot of time. I have a question though, is there a way to create an URL where I can save it to my bookmarks bar in order to activate this button directly from any other website? If i'm creating a quick note on something, I'd rather click on a bookmark that opens my template rather than opening the notion page where that button is located and only then perform the command..
I'm glad you found my video helpful! I totally get what you're saying, and I think that's a super cool idea!! However, I'm not aware that Notion functions can run like that anywhere other than inside the page. Depending on what you're trying to do, maybe something like Zapier could do it for you?
Hey! For the button to clear the schedule, there are no filters and it's set to make Sun-Sat blank. If you want to repopulate it with a button, I make different steps for each time block using a filter where the "Time" property includes (type in time). Then I set what I want in that time block for each day. It takes a bit to set up, but once it's set up it's good to go!
Thanks! I am new to using Notion simply want to create a table with buttons on each row that point to different pages. When I created the table and the button property, all buttons were operating the same way. I'm certain there are permissions that can be set up for each row but I haven't gotten that far yet. Can you offer any tips on how to easily accomplish this?
Understandable! When you create a buttons property, it applies that same button to each row. Do you need to use a database? Or could you create standalone buttons to point where you need? That would be where I would start!
@@itskatwaugh Both. My goal was to have a "dashboard" but after watching your video and thinking about this further, I could accomplish the buttons dashboard by creating separate blocks for each button? (Is this accurate)? Initially, I wanted a table that had buttons within it but that doesn't seem possible if the table properties are the same for the buttons.
Buttons are always going to do the same thing when you click them! If you want to do an on/off type of thing, you’ll want one button to be the “on” button and one to be the “off”.
@@itskatwaugh thank you. That is what I have, but I noticed in a William Nutt video on time tracking that he is using one button for both start and stop. This means the button is performing different actions when it is clicked twice.
@@xavthomas Ahh gotcha. So in that case, I bet what he did was add filters to the groups of actions. So for example - for clocking in, one step is filtered for pages where "In" is empty and "Out" is empty. Then for clocking out another step is filtered for pages where "In" is not empty and "Out" is empty. Does that make sense? You would basically want to make sure the filter is finding the right pages for the step its working on. Other wise it would complete all the actions at once. So that is definitely one work around!! It just requires some additional if logic on filters :)
Every video I watch of someone doing notion things always get it mixed up I be like am I the one who confused 😂😂😂 went to google just to check a few times 😂😅

Hi! What are the settings/filters for the ideal schedule button?

Would love to see a video tutorial on how to set up the magic re-populating button. 😊
Super Helpful - thank so much!! : )
You’re so welcome! 🤩

Also, thank you so much for your quick response!! I appreciate it and will keep watching/learning.🥰
@@DebAnderson-c7v Correct, that would be my approach! You can also color code them/add icons. I think it will be cute and still visual!
I thought a button was just a button.....it's really a magic button=)
😂😂 so true

@@itskatwaugh ah, I get you. Smart. I would never have thought to do that!
Hello! I've seen some templates on Etsy with a notification center, can you please show how to create one?
I’ll keep that in mind for a future video!!
Hey!! Just wanted to let you know I just posted a video on this topic :) Hope it helps!
@@itskatwaugh thanks! I will check it out asap!
How do you reset all the buttons? Was kind of confused how you did that!
Are you talking for the ideal schedule?
Im wondering this too
@@courtneybuzash Which part are you referring to? I’m a bit confused by the question!
