    I think the point of Cursed Scroll in decks, especially mono colored, was basically to be able to take out any color protected creatures since the damage source is colorless.

    Tempest was the new set when I first started playing. I love this set, and really the whole block, to this day.

    Tempest was my first set and holds a special place in my heart. I can't explain it, I just love all these cards. Funny how when you start you know nothing - I remember pulling a Wasteland and thinking it was garbage. LOL

    I have been binge watching your videos for the past month (that's when I found your channel) and love them all but..... Tempest block was my introduction to MTG and I watched this one anticipating where my favorite card of all would show up. But..... no Scroll Rack?! Ouch. Oh well. Did it even come close? Thanks for another great video!

    Can you do a best one drops top 10? I would be really interested to see how impactful creatures like jackal pup and goblin guide stack up against staple spells Like swords to plowshares and lightning bolt.

    Hey Nizzahon, I love your content. It's all well thought out, your knowledge of the game shows and I appreciate that you don't use a "TH-cam Voice." All of my TH-cam current is watched through mobile and sometimes I have difficulty reading the card text due to the card size. Could you made it bigger in future videos, or include an extra text box? Cheers and keep up the good work

    I knew Wastleland was going to be number #1. Heck I thought cursed scroll and lotus petal would be a little bit higher. Great video and I learned a bunch of things from this video. Thanks for also giving us a huge mention in this video. This is some of the best content I watch and Nizzahon you are definitely underrated. Keep it up with these videos. Glad I can also watch you on Aether Hub as well.

    Always loved Reflecting Pool. I have my very used playset that gets moved from deck to deck. They are an absolute must for any EDH deck IMHO.

    Legacy and Vintage didn't have a separate list until 2009, and was banned in Legacy until 2009. That's why Lotus Petal is so low.

    I would love to see Wasteland get reprinted for Standard (to make it Modern legal) as an easy answer to Cavern of Souls and the Tron. It's not reserved (uncommon FTW), but as much as I'd like to see it, Wizards is too chicken to print as powerful an answer as this (even if it would solve a lot of the overly abundant mana-fixing problems with the Modern format). At the very least, I'd like to see something better than Ghost Quarter.

    • @elmaestroalberto1786
      @elmaestroalberto1786 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wasteland Is too powerful to be available for modern, or even standard. It could provide better answers but valakut decks would be affected too. So no, its better if it never sees play there.

    I'm not a big fan of this counting method. By counting points only you miss out on cards that were so good in the set that they were restricted/banned for their power. Also for larger sets like Tempest and exceptional lists, cutting the list off at 10 seems dumb. I would supplement this list with a top ten or so most valuable cards from the set so you also get EDH/casual staples as well. Your list skips over cards like Aluren, Humility, Grindstone, Slivers, Earthcraft and many others

    Hey I just wanted to suggest perhaps a top ten green Planeswalker cards if that's OK?
    I only know of Nissa and garuck (hope I'm spelling that right.)

    Regarding Mogg Fanatic, I wish combat damage still used the stack. I loved all the combat tricks you could do back then.

  • @stevenglowacki8576
    @stevenglowacki8576 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    When Mogg Fanatic was printed, combat damage did *not* use the stack. He was still good then because red was so good. 6th edition just made him much better.

    • @danlorett2184
      @danlorett2184 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is wrong. You absolutely could use it like that back then. It was changed much later.

    • @stevenglowacki8576
      @stevenglowacki8576 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danlorett2184 "You absolutely could use it like that back then. It was changed much later." - that much is true. Most of the time Mogg Fanatic was available to use prior to the change that made combat damage no longer use the stack was under 6th edition rules of combat damage using the stack. But it doesn't change the fact that Mogg Fanatic was printed before 6th edition rules were enacted. So I don't see how what I said was wrong.

    Mogg Fanatic: it didn't work like that. You either sacrificed the creature OR you had it to deal combat damage. It couldn't kill a 2 toughness by itself, dealing combat damage plus the sacrifice damage.

    • @NizzahonMagic
      @NizzahonMagic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      +Thom Poz Yes it sure could, that is how damage on the stack worked back then

    • @bradleygiven5193

      @@NizzahonMagic There might be some confusion here based on the use of "the stack". The Stack was introduced in 6th Edition to simplify timing, and in 5th edition timing was instead based on every effect creating " batches" of triggers. But even using the batches system of timing there was a trigger to sacrifice after blocking.
