Umbridge is way more annoying and petty, but I don't know she's killed as many as Voldemort, so I think he is worse. Imagine what he'd be like if he was a teacher at Hogwarts. lol
Actually, Harry is least vulnerable to Voldemort when he's with the Dursleys. Lily's spell of sacrifice and love still protects him in the home of her sister, Petunia.
I wish the movies had explained this, every reactor watching hp is always rightfully confused about why he has to go back to the Dursley's every summer.
Harry and Luna both witnessed someone die. That is why they are able to see the Thestrals and hear the voices in the Veil in the Department of Mysteries.
The pink haired girl is a shapeshifter and Draco's cousin Herbology is a core subject at Hogwarts The Twins are 17, the legal age, so they use magic now McGongall is a part of the order, but she isn't a part rescue mission Lestrange didn't kill them, Neville are alive, in a state they don't even know who they are due the torture curse
@@MeeshDeeReacts Yeah Neville's parents were tortured to the point of insanity, by Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr (David Tennant's character from the last movie). They live in a magic asylum and don't even recognise Neville when he visits. 😢
One thing they dont mention often or go into much detail about in the movies compared to the books is that once you turn 17 you're allowed to use magic outside of hogwarts.. like a magic licence kinda deal
@@MeeshDeeReacts it's known as 'The Trace', but it's explained in the book that it's not quite as 'specific', the trace will trigger with any magic around a young wizard outside of Hogwarts and it's more useful for muggle borns because magic around them isn't the norm as their families aren't magic types. The ministry kind of unwritten expects that wizarding families would enforce the rules at home.
@@rainofkhandaq6678 Ahaha exactly. The whole premise of harry blowing up his aunt in the first segment of the 3rd movie was about that, im surprised they didnt realise that
Imelda Staunton did a fantastic job playing a character who was more hated than the story's main villain. The fact that Umbridge was more hated than Voldemort himself makes the scene where she gets carried away like firewood by the centaurs that much more satisfying. When I first saw Grawp, I thought he looked like the illustrated kid on the cover of MAD Magazine, Alfred E. Neuman. Also.... Cornelius Fudge, after seeing Voldemort: He's back.... Me, sarcastically: *Gee, if only someone said that the previous year and at the hearing. Oh, wait....*
I wish they would’ve left the deleted scene of Umbridge in the forest because not only is her acting incredible but it adds a whole other level of sinister to her character
Tonks (girl with the changing hair color) was in GOT as Osha, the wildling that was traveling with Bran Bellatrix didn't kill Neville parents. She used the cruciatis curse on them. Basically tortured them until they lost their mind. They had a whole scene in the book where Neville went to visit them but in the movies Sirius only mentioned that they suffered a fate worst than death. That's also why Neville was triggered by (Fake) Moody performing the curse on the bug in Goblet.
Mrs. Figg is Harry's neighbor, book 1 describes her as a crazy cat lady who sometimes babysat Harry. This book reveals that she's been working for Dumbledore the whole time keeping an eye on Harry. She's also a "squib" (slang like "muggle"), kind of a reverse muggle-born, a child of wizard parents with no magic. Mr. Filch the Hogwarts janitor is also one. All that stuff got cut for the movies though, making her scene up a bit abrupt.
I see squibs as being more like witches / wizards with a disability. They have some properties of magic folk, but can’t actually perform any magic themselves.
Apparently the reason the squib stuff was cut is that Warner Bros bought the film rights before Rowling had finished the fifth book so they didn’t know that that stuff would be important. That’s also probably why a bunch of the Marauders stuff isn’t fully explained.
It has always bummed me out that they excluded a whole section of the book where Harry runs into Neville at St. Mungos (hospital for magical maladies lol) while he is visiting his parents. It's a great look into Neville's personal life and really endeared me to him! His mom always gives him gum wrappers. He keeps them all.
So an answer to your question about Mrs. Figg: She is known as a squib. In the wizarding world sometimes parents that are both wizards/witches will have a child without magical power. Mrs. Figg and Filch (caretaker of Hogwarts) are squibs. They went to school like the other students but took classes that were designed around non magical principles. Potions for example is something a squib can partake in.
Also Mrs Figg was Harry's neighbor across the street growing up. Kind of an old cat lady living alone. The dursleys were always worried about what she'd think of them. Harry never knew she was really apart of the wizard world until the event with the dementors. And the dursleys thought she was a normal cat lady. Clearly Dumbledore wanted someone watching the privet drive house all those years while Harry was growing up.
This is incorrect. Squibs do not attend Hogwarts (or any other magical school) and do not learn any magic, including potions, which requires spells and incantations to have the potions work. Squibs go to normal Muggle schools.
@@andrewguenther988 Squibs have always been a part of the wizarding world. It does not make sense that they would be excluded because of who they are. I've read the books and I am at least 90% sure they attend magical schools in some capacity.
@@Skrulzie well your memory is faulty because I googled "do squibs attend Hogwarts" and the first 5-6 results all say "no." I stopped looking after that.
@@andrewguenther988 The fact you went to the effort to prove me wrong using google is hilarious. Instead of finding any evidence in the books themselves you use google. I commend you for your effort.
for the book in Goblet of Fire, there is 1000 Galleon reward to the Champion. Harry and Ron spend the months leading up to Halloween (when the names will be selected) coming up with plans to put their names into the Goblet of Fire. they were in it together, so when Harry's name is pulled Ron is more betrayed than jealous, he thinks Harry went behind his back, led him along with false plans, and did it only for himself
This is my favorite movie too!! It’s the best book to film adaptation and really dives into Harry’s psyche. 🥰 To answer your question about why Voldemort doesn’t attack Harry when he’s at the Dursley’s, it’s because he can’t. There’s a protection in place that stems from Lily Potter’s sacrifice and it continues to live through her sister, Petunia, because they are related by blood. That’s why Dumbledore makes Harry return there every summer and he is forced to live with them. It’s not explained in the movies but trust me, everything makes sense in the books! It seems like there’s plot holes in the movies just because so much from the books is missing. I look forward to your reactions! Can’t wait for the next one! 😁
I especially love the duel between Voldemort and Dumbledore - you get to see what a fight between top wizards actually looks like, not just sparks flying around but using complicated, grandiose magic. I would like to point out though that the most accurate book adaptations are movies 1 and 2 - that's when JK Rowling was still heavily involved in movies and that's why those movies are actually the longest of the 8 - even there stuff got cut (obviously) but they're the most accurate to the books.
I truly adore Luna. She doesn't get a lot of screen time in the movies, but she absolutely slays the time she gets. And I will forever stan her and Harry. As for why... It's expounded on more in the books, but Luna is, as you noticed, rather unusual and isn't afraid to show it. This resulted in her being the victim of bullying; when she says her things are disappearing, what she really means is that her fellow students are stealing and hiding them from her. It's not dissimilar to Harry's own childhood. More importantly, Luna always sees Harry for himself, not for any of his titles or deeds, and she always treats him like an equal. In Harry's life, she's an incredible emotional rock for him; she somehow can always tell what's on his mind, and manages to say something that comforts him. In turn, Harry never makes fun of her for her quirks and oddities, and he's always willing to stand up for her and by her side, no matter who makes fun of her. "Loony" is a derogatory nickname she's received from other students, this Hermione's double take when she accidentally introduces Luna with that name.
Cho wasn't the one who ratted in the book. But she was friends with the person who did. And she tries to defend her to Harry. Making the case that Umbridge threatened to sack her mum from her job at the Ministry. Harry was incredulous that Cho was choosing to defend a person who had sold all of them out, including her.
@@DaDungevery true, but what they were doing with Dumbledores army was incredibly risky. They all could’ve been permanently kicked out of hogwarts or worse, so the consequences for snitching on the group had to meet the same severity. It was a harsh punishment, but I can’t say that I felt sorry for her.
@@davidfairweather3301Hermione was horrible. It's not like she told anyone beforehand what would happen if they snitch which would actually stop people from snitching. She kept it a secret just to be petty and permanently disfigured someone. I can't believe anyone would defend her. Do you also defend people who commit acid attacks?
To remind you, Snape knew about the Marauders (Wormtail, Moony, Padfoot and Prongs) because he went to school with them. He also had heard the nicknames before when Harry had to tell him about his “abnormally large nose” after the Marauders map didn’t reveal its secrets to him. Snape was the only person at Hogwarts who could be told that Sirius was in trouble without revealing too much.
All students under the age of 17 are not allowed to use magic outside of school. Adults are free to use magic as they please. Just ideally wherever a Muggle isn't present.
Not ideally. Due to things like the Salem Witch Trials in the 1600s, it is illegal to use magic in front of muggles unless you have a seriously valid reason that will be investigated and, regardless of severity, those muggles will be mindwiped. Even muggles who are brought into the Wizarding world (parents of muggle-borns, muggle spouses etc) actually have to take tests and swear legal oaths so that the Wizarding World remains a secret. If nothing else, the Wizarding World takes the Statute of Secrecy very seriously for fear the muggles might attempt another extermination. Witches and wizards under the age of 17 are barred from using magic outside Hogwarts under penalty of expulsion and wand destruction. It's the same reasoning we have for not letting a 12 year old buy alcohol or cigarettes or a 14 year old to drive a car. They're not old enough, responsible enough or educated/trained enough. Accidental use of magic isn't punished though because that happens fairly often like Harry blowing up Aunt Marge or making the glass in the snake terrarium vanish. In fact, the books tell us Harry accidentally did magic all the time but he couldn't get in trouble for it.
52:16 To clear up some confusion, since it was explained in the book, thw archway you see is the Veil of death or something like that. The reason Luna can hear the voices was because just like the Thestrals, she saw death and the whisper was probably her mum(?) Idk. Oh yeah, in the movie, Bellatrix use the killing curse on Sirius and he just basically got sucked in while in the books Sirius was pushed through the archway. Literally pushed to the other side.
The reason the twins are abke to use magic outside of school is because they have reached the age where they are allowed too, harry was underage when he performed magic at the start
To add - it's legal for underage students to use magic but only in school while they are learning. They're not allowed to use magic outside of school because they aren't proficient with it and magic comes with dangers (for instance, the teleportation spell, if done incorrectly, could actually make part of you appear in one spot and part of you in another and literally kill you). This is different from performing magic in front of a muggle - that is illegal to EVERYONE because magic people want their world to continue to stay hidden from muggles. It does still happen every now and then and depending on circumstances not always a serious crime - sometimes they just need to wipe the memory of muggles who saw the magic happen and put everything back in order.
Nymphadora Tonks hair doesn't really change according to her mood per se, she's able to do it herself she's a very rare individual who can change their appearance to anything that they want. They are able to do this without Polyjuice Potion or without using the animagus charm. Her mother was a sister to Bellatrix Lestrange, and cousin to Sirius Black.
Yeah it's been a while since I read the book's, but from what I remember, Ron is a little bit jealous, but much more so feels betrayed because he thinks Harry put his name in the goblet without telling him. Once he believes Harry didn't do it he chills out. All the overblown feelings are meant to be from raging hormones, but it feels more believable to me in the books. Plus I probably read these not too long after I had gone through that stage. 😂
In the book they use a disillusionment charm to basically makes you blend in with the environment. That's why they could fly the brooms to the headquarters
A bit more info on Neville's parents (none of this is spoilers, this is stuff from the books that never made it into the movie) - were tortured by Bellatrix with Cruciatus curse (the one where they say "Crucio" to torture - in the book it's described as searing, intense pain as if every cell in your body is on fire) until they literally went mad - they're still alive in a sort of mental hospital (Gilderoy Lockhart is there with them too, by the way - he's the professor from the 2nd movie who lost his memory) and Neville often visits them with his grandma, but it's a very sad situation - even in the books. His parents barely recognize him and aren't in their right minds. Neville in many ways is a character parallel to Harry, in fact he was born in the same month as Harry and at the time they didn't know whether the prophecy was referring to Harry or to Neville - Voldemort was going to kill Harry back when he was a baby because of the prophecy AND THEN kill Neville because he didn't know which one was the correct child, but since the situation with Harry left him in a weak, defeated state, he never got to Neville.
Umbridge actually sent the dementor in the beginning to set Harry up and Dudley saw himself and how he treated Harry after he was attacked and his whole character shifted for some reason all his scenes were cut for the next few movies so yall would never kno he became friends with harry and he wasn’t blaming harry he was saying ask harry
I'm sure someone has already said this, but the twins can use magic outside of school because they turned 17, which is the legal age in the magical world. Once you're 17, you can use magic all you like, as long as you aren't noticed by muggles, and the scene where Harry flies through London needs to include a key detail from the book. Moody puts a disillusionment charm on them all so they blend in with their surroundings. Love your reactions! You will love Half Blood Prince
-Mrs. Figg is a more prominent character in the books. For the first four books she's basically just this batty old neighbor of the Dursley's who would sometimes babysit Harry, and make his time with her quite miserable. Then in this book you suddenly realize that she was a Squib (non-magical person born from wizard parents) who Dumbledore had keeping an eye on Harry the entire time he was at his aunt and uncles. It was a huge plot twist. -Tonks is a Metamorphmagus, a wizard who has the natural born ability to change their appearance. She's an auror, so she uses her ability to disguise herself on cases and while working for the Order. Also her actress was in Game of Thrones. -Fred and George are 17 in this film, so they can now use their magic outside of school without worry. You still can't have muggles see you using magic, though, as the existence of wizards is a strict secret. -Neville's parents were not murdered, but Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr. tortured them for information and drove them insane. They are now permanently hospitalized and barely recognize their own son. -McGonagall is part of the Order. In the book she only briefly shows up at Headquarters, but otherwise she is mainly the Order member in full time residence at Hogwarts, keeping control of the school. -Umbridge REALLY hates Hagrid in the book because he is half giant. She's extremely racist towards all half humans, both half breeds like Hagrid for his giant blood, but also centaurs and mermaids. -Sirius was never actually captured by Voldemort. Voldemort used his connection to Harry to give him a false vision of him torturing Sirius.
Dont know if anyone mentioned it, but when Vernon asked Dudley, "Who did this to you, boy?" Dudley said."He saved me," that is why Vernon said, "Happy now are we, you've finally driven him loopy"
Nymphadora Tonks is the niece of Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy (who are sisters, both cousins of Sirius Black) but she fights in the Order of the Phoenix! So Draco is half Malfoy half Black, so Harry and Draco are part of the same familiy (Harry by his Godfather Sirius). So interesting facts! Greetings from Germany❤
Ladies. I have to be honest. I have watched several people react to these movies. I have also watched a number of people react to other one offs and series etc which I liked. I don't think I have ever enjoyed reactors more. Y'all are insightful, open-minded, really smart, funny, good hearted and more. Oh have to add adorable too. It has been so very entertaining so far. There are a ton of one offs and franchises I would love to see you two react to. However, I don't really know what kind of things you are interested in. What you like and dislike. Musicals? Westerns? Action? Rom Coms? Maybe I will just suggest a small variety of things and see which ones you are interested enough in to react to. Anywaaaaayy. This has been great fun, and am looking forward to more. Stay safe and well. Y'all are great together.
Hi there! Thanks so much for watching along with us and for the sweet comment 🤩 this series was SO much fun to watch and experience together! We appreciate you!! 💕
In the books, Hermione put a conditional hex on the Dumbledore's Army sign up sheet. If anyone squealed on them to Umbridge, that person would have a rather unpleasant thing happen to their complexion. Cho's best friend, who doesn't appear in the movie, was the one that told on them, and suffered the consequences. Having Cho tell on them due to truth serum saved the screenwriter the chore of explaining the hex.
I heard an interview with J. K. Rowling where she said she almost decided to kill Mr. Weasley in this movie. But she liked him so much, and didn’t want to leave seven children orphaned without a father. So, in order to make up for not killing, Mr. Weasley, she killed two other characters. When we get to the end, movie, I’ll explain what two characters she killed to replace Mr. Weasley.
1:00:02 Waited for that, I think I did a comment in your reaction to the first movie that there was a reason Harry had to go to his Aunt and Uncle but it's never actually mentioned in the movies. It's because Harry is protected at the Dursley's far more than anywhere else, as badly as the Dursleys treat Harry when Petunia made the decision to accept and care for Harry that completed a powerful spell which Dumbledore wove(I believe) that rendered Voldemort unable to touch him(while at the Dursleys) until that magic wears off when Harry becomes of age.
You mentioned riddle going after harry at the dursely home. He can't touch him there because his aunt is a blood relative of his mom and he is protected by that bond.
8:20 she's from Game of Thrones, she was a character who lived behind the walls and was captured by the Starks and took care of Bran & the other starks when they went into hiding and when Bran was trying to learn to become a Seer.
In the books, Harry hated life at the Dursley's so much that he took to spending a lot of his free time with Mrs Figg (a local neighbour). That was in book 1.
You guys should read the books... Movies couldn't capture the whole stories and vastness of the books especially the 4th,5th and 6th part. Also several original characters in the books weren't in the movies. Books also explained many subplots like Ron's jealousy and envy towards Harry on becoming Triwizard champion in the Goblet of fire.
McGonagall is part of the phoenix, when Harry arrived with Tonks and Moody you could see her walking behind Sirius and Lupin before Mrs Weasley closed the door. At the same time you recognised Tonks cause is the same actress from Game of Thrones who plays Osha, helping the youngest Stark's brothers.
It's a shame The HP. Films didn't win any top awards, lots of the established actors have Oscars for other films ,: so glad you have break between films give you time to read comments
The way they fly around in that battle is called appiration. It’s a way wizards transport themselves through long distances. The directors took a few liberties with how it looks, but I think it’s a cool visual effect and it doesn’t change anything, so we rock with it.
I’ve been in Slytherin since a kid. I took the quiz on Pottermore , I did it again as an adult on the new site. I’m still In Slytherin house. Good thing I love green 😂😂
In the books Ron was down low moping because of repressed feelings for Hermione. In the books they both stubbornly refused to acknowledge they liked each other and were always at odds, like the smart nerdy angel and clueless wing man on Harry's shoulder. Opposites attract and their tension is a theme across the series.
i like to look at harry hermione and ron's relationship like this Harry and Hermione College sweethearts who are madly in love with each other and will do anything for each other Ron And Hermione that bitter old married couple who always fight over petty and trivial things but deep down still love each other
That's completely backwards and Hermione and Harry? Zero chemistry and zero attraction. She leaves him and takes half his gold after a bitter divorce. Ron and Hermione, well you've already seen the burrow, they would continue the legacy. Ron is brave and loyal, more Griffendor than Harry ever thought about being. Hermione is Griffendor and that is what she admires the most and Ron is the quintessential Griffendor.
1:00:04 This, in fact is when he is most protected. Dumbledore keeps sending Harry to the Dersleys because Harry is protected by a spell ONLY while he’s with his family until his 18th birthday. Also the Order was started by Dumbledore who owns a phoenix
Luna Lovegood can see Thestrals because she has seen a person die. Harry also has, so he can as well. They are only visible to those that have witnessed death, similar to the archway that Sirius went into, which is a connection to the other side and only those who have witnessed death can hear the voices on the other side of the veil... If I remember correctly, in the book the ones that can hear the voices are almost hypnotized by it and start moving toward it like they want to walk through it and have to snap out of it or be brought back to reality by people standing nearby who can't hear them
The moment the Order of the Phoenix members arrives you realiz that Dumbledore army are still a bunch of kids. The adults truly are more experienced and skilled. Fun fact, there is a skill called non-verbal casting for advace magic. Hogwarts students learn it at year 6/7 (can't remember). That's why adult wizards can cast spell without muttering a word, this is so your oponent won't know what's coming to them.
Hermione explains Ron's feelings in the previous books. Ron has 5 brothers, all who are popular and successful in their own endeavors. Harry is Ron's best friend but Harry always gets all of the attention because of his past and because of his abilities playing quidditch, Harrys name getting chosen (despite not putting it in) was a bit too much for Ron to cope at that time.
fred and george are 17 is basically now they be adult in wizarding world which is legal for them used to magic outside school while harry, ron hermione and ginny are still minor illegal for them use magic outside of school but ideally no muggal around
Poor Harry is going through so much in this one. On top of raging teenage hormones, he has PTSD, survivor's guilt, he's been kept in the dark, everyone is calling him crazy or a liar, Umbridge is torturing him and he has Voldemort's thoughts running around in his head. That's enough to make anyone act out especially a 15 year old kid. Cho wasn't the snitch in the book. It was her friend Marietta. However Cho kept defending her and it broke her and Harry up. There was a lot more to the story than Snape's memory showed. He and James didn't like each other from the start and took every opportunity to jinx each other. Snape was no innocent, helpless victim and James was an arrogant little jerk. However, James grew past it and let it go but Snape never did. Voldemort can't go after Harry in the muggle world because as long as he considers his aunt's house home Harry is protected there. Dumbledore used an ancient spell to extend Lily's protection and make it so Harry couldn't be attacked as long as he had a home with someone who shared his and his mother's blood. Unfortunately, Petunia Dursley is Harry's only living adult blood relative on either side of his family.
1.) Mrs. Figg is the neighbour of the family Dursley. 2.) Blood status: Muggle 3.) Others: She is a friend of Prof. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
I think for a movie with time constraints, Ron was depicted fairly accurately, despite some of his lines being given to Hermione. I think the intended perception of Ron was captured well for film. The books do give more insight as to why he acts the way he does.
The old lady isn't a wizard, but squib. Both of her parents are former students of Hogwarts. However the magical gene went dormant for her. She knows much about magic and the magical world though.
In the books we actually see Mrs fig in book 1, the dursleys use her as a babysitter for Harry, Harry hates going there because she has so many cats. And her chocolate cakes from what I recalled and it tastes so good. She is also a squib so she was born to a magical family but she has no magic herself.
Nymphodora Tonks (the girl who can change hair color) is a Metamorphmagus. She is the daughter of Andromeda Tonks (Andromeda Black is her maiden name because she's the sister of Narcissa Malfoy which js Draco's mom and Bellatrix Lestrange) Andromeda married a Muggle Ted Tonks and they had her.... She's a Hufflepuff when she attended Hogwarts and she gave birth to her son Teddy (Luoin is the father) just before the battle of Hogwarts happened....
It's funny how everybody who watches the films thinks there is a real world and a wizarding world but actually there is not. The world is the same for everybody hahahaha
As you can already tell, Harry did tell people that Malfoy (and a bunch of others) are still death eaters and part of Voldemort's crew, but the issue is that many people don't believe him - from this book forward everything becomes very political, but not in a bad way - like the story is still very interesting and terrifying, but politics just up the ante some more - on top of facing real dangers, they also now have to deal with people who either don't believe Voldemort is back or don't realize (and refuse to believe) that Voldemort has great influence even within the ministry (not overtly, but sort of as a conspiracy - he has spies operating everywhere), so there are people who think that Harry is doing everything to get attention.
So for Ron he felt really hurt and betrayed, but also kind of constantly overshadowed by Harry and the stuff that happens to him. He felt like he didn’t know who his best friend was and was losing him to some sort of fame when it wasn’t like that at all. It’s something he misunderstood about Harry and came to understand. Harry doesn’t want fame and glory. He wants to live his life peacefully as a wizard and A HAPPY ONE (re: raised by the Dursleys) without something constantly happening to him. Voldy was a menace to everyone in Wizard society.
When you turn a certain age in the wizarding world your allowed to use magic outside school and Voldemort put a curse on the dark arts job where their has to be a new teacher every year
I dont think its ever explained in the movies, but in the books it's explained that Harry is magically protected while he's at the Dursleys until he turns 17 because his Aunt shares the same blood as his mom, so the magic that his mom used to protect him when he was a baby is extended to the Dursleys home. That's why Dumbledore sents him back to them every summer.
Minor book spoilers ahead (in case you plan to read): The movies leave out a lot by necessity, but the way they did it for James (Harry's dad) and Snape totally changed their characters. Snape was already obsesses with the Dark Arts and planning to join Voldemort while he was at Hogwarts. James, while arrogant, wasn't just a bully. He loathed the Dark Arts and hated Snape for it. Snape was basically his Draco Malfoy and Snape attacked James just as regularly as James attacked him. The movies really softened Snape's character far too much, in my opinion. He ended up on the right side, but just because of his obsession with Harry's mother, who wanted nothing to do with Snape after he called her a mudblood and he didn't deny his plans to join Voldemort. He hated Harry until his death, used his authority as a teacher to bully young children, and would have remained a Death Eater (likely killing and torturing Muggles and Wizards that resisted) had Voldemort not killed the 1 person he actually cared about. He even asked Voldemort to just kill Harry and James. He was fine with them dying as long as Lily could live. And the movies don't really do Dumbledore justice. He was the only wizard Voldemort ever feared. In the book battle, Dumbledore is completely calm the entire fight. Doesn't break a sweat and shows zero fear - Until Voldemort disappears and he realizes he is about to possess Harry. Also, not sure if he says so or not in the movie, but the reason Voldemort stops possessing Harry is because Harry's love/grief for Sirius and his friends causes Voldemort pain he cannot endure. And now that Voldemort knows that danger, Dumbledore is confident he will never try to possess Harry again.
I'm so happy someone explained it to them. One of the most frustrating things about watching people react is when they start calling James a bully and giving Snape a pass for being a horrible person... along with making Dumbledore out to be a villain smh
You weren't wrong. The Order of the Phoenix is definitely named after Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix. There's more to Snape's treatment of Harry but it's explained later so I won't spoil. Yeah the Dumbledore's Army stuff is SOOOOO DOPE! And one thing they left out of ALL THE MOVIES though is one of my other favorite characters, Peeves the Poltergeist, a troublemaking ghost who sometimes works with Fred and George, and sometimes against them because he's kinda Chaotic Neutral. I bring this up because of the trouble Peeves gives Umbridge at Fred and George's request in this book. It's one of my favorite moments from all 7 books. :)
0:48 lol 4:53 Dee definitely the more vocally expressive of you two. You both get scared but Dee is so vocal lol.perfect mix. 16:03 aw, my heart broke for you. 58:11 lol Really enjoyed this movie. The Umbridge actress was great. Everyone immediately hates the character. Great reaction as usual.
Now it gets dark! Dudley is on the rugby team at his school. A very physical game. Mood hair. Lol. Anyone else remember mood rings? Arthur Weasley took Harry to the Ministry for court in the beginning of the movie.
I don’t know if they explained this in the movies but Harry can’t leave Aunt Petunia’s house because he needs to stay with a relative of his mom for his mom’s protection spell to last. In the 5th book (when all the letters were coming in after Dudley and Harry got back) Aunt Petunia told Harry that he couldn’t leave the house because she knew that that was the only way to protect him. Edit: Also, the reason the defense against the dark arts teacher always changes is because Voldemort applied for the job but was denied so he cursed the position
When my son was little we had to draw the harry scar on his forehead every day for a year before he would go to school. Funnily enough the school never complained.
Since the movie released i never understood the padfoot sentence at 46:23 now i get it, he told snape about sirius then snape informed the rest of the order that's why they showed up out of nowhere later on
Potterheads hate Umbridge MORE than Voldemort. She is a sadist ( in the books she admits to ordering the dementors to attack Harry at the beginning.) The actress who played her was BRILLIANT!!
About Ron : his jealousy in the fourth book is portrayed in the same way I'd say BUT his backstory kinda explains it (explains not excuses) which is kinda brushed upon in the movie. Basically he is the last son of a poor family so he's never been in the spotlight. His older brothers were prefects or quidditch captains and Ginny is the last child and the only girl. On top of that, he's never had something of his own because of poverty : he always has hand me downs. Due to that, watching his already famous best friend get more spotlight triggered his jealousy
Neville's parents didn't die. They were tortured until insanity. In the book Neville used to go to St. Mungus, the wizards hospital, with his grandma, to visit his parents who couldn't recognise him (as if they had dementia)
In the 4th book, Hargrid talks in ''private'' with madam Maxime about his mom being a giantess and he attempts to know on which side she got giant blood.
Haven’t even started the video yet, and I hate to end up being the commentor that talks about clothes every time, but I have to admit those shirts are better than I was expecting (was thinking along the lines of Hogwarts uniforms with the colored scarves). Well done.
Don’t know if you noticed but in Dumbledore’s office when they caught the DA, the guy holding Harry is Percy Weasley, Ron’s brother. He rejected his family saying they are fools to believe Harry and Dumbledore. He sides with Fudge and the Ministry of magic.

Umbridge to be honest in my personal opinion.
Umbridge is worse hands down.
Umbridge hands down
You know who.
Bruh shut up dont spoil it for them
@YusufKhan0770 Not a spoiler. The movies never cover it, and it was revealed in an earlier book.
@@YusufKhan0770 Even Mrs. Fig recommends him to not leave the house because everyone knows about his protection there.

Harry and Luna both witnessed someone die. That is why they are able to see the Thestrals and hear the voices in the Veil in the Department of Mysteries.

One thing they dont mention often or go into much detail about in the movies compared to the books is that once you turn 17 you're allowed to use magic outside of hogwarts.. like a magic licence kinda deal
Makes so much sense now! Thanks 😊
Key phrase there was "Underage use of magic". people miss that.
It's mentionee multiple times in the movies, what are you talking about? Since the 3rd movie
@@rainofkhandaq6678 Ahaha exactly. The whole premise of harry blowing up his aunt in the first segment of the 3rd movie was about that, im surprised they didnt realise that
Luna Lovegood is one of my favorite characters in the books! Shes so sweet and kind and wierd and just...ugh I love her! ❤
Ugh we love her sm too!! ❤️
I prefer book Lun to movie Luna. Movie Luna is quirky, book Luna is completly insane.
She’s down for Harry’s cause fasho
Imelda Staunton did a fantastic job playing a character who was more hated than the story's main villain. The fact that Umbridge was more hated than Voldemort himself makes the scene where she gets carried away like firewood by the centaurs that much more satisfying.
When I first saw Grawp, I thought he looked like the illustrated kid on the cover of MAD Magazine, Alfred E. Neuman.
Also....
Cornelius Fudge, after seeing Voldemort: He's back....
Me, sarcastically: *Gee, if only someone said that the previous year and at the hearing. Oh, wait....*
lol agree with all of this! Felt so good to see her taken away by the centaurs 😂🙏🏽
@@MeeshDeeReacts Especially with Harry turning her line around on her. "I'm sorry, Professor....I must not tell lies."
I wish they would’ve left the deleted scene of Umbridge in the forest because not only is her acting incredible but it adds a whole other level of sinister to her character
Tonks (girl with the changing hair color) was in GOT as Osha, the wildling that was traveling with Bran
Bellatrix didn't kill Neville parents.
This one of the reasons I hate that movie they cut 65% of the book
I get that, but as his best friend if he told him he did not do it he should believe him
@@Durag__bandit98 The director of Goblet of fire didnt even read the books so he just did whatever he wanted lmao
😊❤️ thanks for watching with us!!
Ugh we love Luna so much too!! Thank you for all this background context ❤️🙌🏽
Cho has got a point though, what Hermoine did to Marietta in the books is fairly horrible.
@@DaDunge No doubt. Still. I won't shed any tears for her.
@@s1lm4r1l6 Disfigurig her permanently was a bit beyond the pale though.
11:17 The twins are allowed to use magic now whenever they want to because they had just turned 17 making them of age
Btw, an interesting fact, that admiral Zhao, the baddie in the 1st season of the Avatar is voiced by the Jason Isaacs who plays Lucius Malfoy :)
Wow! Didn’t know this 😮 ty!
No way! I couldn't even tell that was him!
It's so funny to hear y'all call him Edward Cullen, cause when Twilight first came out, we all called Edward, Cedric 😂😂😂😂
100!! We got that feeling too. 🙏🏽
@@MeeshDeeReactsdamn you're fast! Lol 😂 I edited this a bit
In the book they use a disillusionment charm to basically makes you blend in with the environment. That's why they could fly the brooms to the headquarters
was just about to come here and say that!
Mrs. Figg is actually a squib :) Like Filch. So basically they were born to magical families, but they themselves cannot wield magic.
I loved how, on the twins' dramatic exit, they literally broke all the rules.
❤️❤️❤️
From what I remember, they don't fly through London. They were actually very high up, even above the clouds.
Dont know if anyone mentioned it, but when Vernon asked Dudley, "Who did this to you, boy?" Dudley said."He saved me," that is why Vernon said, "Happy now are we, you've finally driven him loopy"
nymphadora tonks is from game of thrones as well as filch! She was the wolding girl that took care of bran and rickon

Hi there! Thanks so much for watching along with us and for the sweet comment 🤩 this series was SO much fun to watch and experience together! We appreciate you!! 💕
Same, their responses we thoughtful and fun.
I loved that no one, not even the teachers (Umbridge included) could not figure out how to remove the hex.
Cool... Was eagerly waiting for the next Harry Potter movie reaction. 😊
LETS GO✨
You mentioned riddle going after harry at the dursely home.
Yes!! Remember her now. She’s the one Ramsey killed 😫😫 I hate that guy lol

Luna is a precious angel and we all love her. The fandom demands you love her too.
The way they fly around in that battle is called appiration. It’s a way wizards transport themselves through long distances. The directors took a few liberties with how it looks, but I think it’s a cool visual effect and it doesn’t change anything, so we rock with it.

That makes sense! Thanks for the context 😁
i like to look at harry hermione and ron's relationship like this
Harry and Hermione College sweethearts who are madly in love with each other and will do anything for each other
Ron And Hermione that bitter old married couple who always fight over petty and trivial things but deep down still love each other
That's completely backwards and Hermione and Harry? Zero chemistry and zero attraction. She leaves him and takes half his gold after a bitter divorce.
Ron and Hermione, well you've already seen the burrow, they would continue the legacy. Ron is brave and loyal, more Griffendor than Harry ever thought about being. Hermione is Griffendor and that is what she admires the most and Ron is the quintessential Griffendor.
Spoilers like whoa
@@MeMyself-gf7fn you're entitled to your opinion however the scenes harry and hermione have shows me they have perfect chemistry
The neighbour lady is what you call a squib someone whose born to wizard parents but doesn’t have any powers
fred and george are 17 is basically now they be adult in wizarding world which is legal for them used to magic outside school while harry, ron hermione and ginny are still minor illegal for them use magic outside of school but ideally no muggal around
17:00 Its not well explained here or in the books but fans have figured out harry got soem prett ymajro PTSD after the end of last movie.
Dee's scar is so cute!! Also, I have that same shirt (Dee's) but in a light grey color!
Ooo I love this shirt!! Now we can match 🥰🙏🏼
2.) Blood status: Muggle
3.) Others: She is a friend of Prof. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
I think for a movie with time constraints, Ron was depicted fairly accurately, despite some of his lines being given to Hermione. I think the intended perception of Ron was captured well for film. The books do give more insight as to why he acts the way he does.
Nevel's story about his parents always gets me teary eyed! ;_;
Wow, you managed to talk over or edit out so many of the best lines of this film, woof.
The old lady isn't a wizard, but squib. Both of her parents are former students of Hogwarts. However the magical gene went dormant for her.
She knows much about magic and the magical world though.
Tonks is Osha in game of thrones. Her name is Natalia tena.
She's a Hufflepuff when she attended Hogwarts and she gave birth to her son Teddy (Luoin is the father) just before the battle of Hogwarts happened....
ted tonks isn't a muggle, he was muggle born but is a wizard. I suggest you watch 'sisters of the house black' which is on youtube for more details.
It's funny how everybody who watches the films thinks there is a real world and a wizarding world but actually there is not. The world is the same for everybody hahahaha
Natalia Tena, who plays Tonks was also in a couple of sasons of Game of Thrones - which is probably where you remember her from.
The movie used Cho as the snitch. In the book it was her bestie, but I guess the script writer wanted to avoid introducing more characters. 😬
When you turn a certain age in the wizarding world your allowed to use magic outside school and Voldemort put a curse on the dark arts job where their has to be a new teacher every year
I'm so early to this yay, I've missed you reactions! So excited to continue this journey with you two! 🎉
Yesss! We’re here to stay 😉❤️🙏🏽
YESSSSS I'm so excited for this reaction! I don't think I've ever hated a character more than Umbridge xD
1000 agree with you!! She’s the worst 😫😫
Minor book spoilers ahead (in case you plan to read):
The movies leave out a lot by necessity, but the way they did it for James (Harry's dad) and Snape totally changed their characters.
'I love Sirius, hes my favorite'
...oh no
😢😢😢
😫😫😭
Ahhhhh your comment at the very end is crazy!!!!! Like going after him at the Dersley’s is so smart!
0:48 lol
4:53 Dee definitely the more vocally expressive of you two. You both get scared but Dee is so vocal lol.perfect mix.
16:03 aw, my heart broke for you.
58:11 lol
Really enjoyed this movie. The Umbridge actress was great. Everyone immediately hates the character.
Great reaction as usual.
Aww thank you for your sweet comment 🥰 Meesh and I are having so much fun watching the HP series with y’all 🫶🏼
Now it gets dark!
Since the movie released i never understood the padfoot sentence at 46:23 now i get it, he told snape about sirius then snape informed the rest of the order that's why they showed up out of nowhere later on
I watched all the movies 20+ times probably and only just realised that now
Potterheads hate Umbridge MORE than Voldemort. She is a sadist ( in the books she admits to ordering the dementors to attack Harry at the beginning.) The actress who played her was BRILLIANT!!
100!!
I hate my mind when Dee say He/she is huge 😂😂
About Ron : his jealousy in the fourth book is portrayed in the same way I'd say BUT his backstory kinda explains it (explains not excuses) which is kinda brushed upon in the movie. Basically he is the last son of a poor family so he's never been in the spotlight. His older brothers were prefects or quidditch captains and Ginny is the last child and the only girl. On top of that, he's never had something of his own because of poverty : he always has hand me downs. Due to that, watching his already famous best friend get more spotlight triggered his jealousy
Ray Fines is the actor who played Voldermort
Neville's parents didn't die. They were tortured until insanity. In the book Neville used to go to St. Mungus, the wizards hospital, with his grandma, to visit his parents who couldn't recognise him (as if they had dementia)
In the 4th book, Hargrid talks in ''private'' with madam Maxime about his mom being a giantess and he attempts to know on which side she got giant blood.
we have something Voldemort doesn't have : a nose
Real friends go thru ups and downs during relationships so very realistic Ron, Harry and Hermione go thru teen age angst like normal teens.
40:15 This scene is so much better in tbe books. In the books he actually takes them all out before teleporting away.
Haven’t even started the video yet, and I hate to end up being the commentor that talks about clothes every time, but I have to admit those shirts are better than I was expecting (was thinking along the lines of Hogwarts uniforms with the colored scarves). Well done.
Aww thank you!! This HP merch is awesome and we appreciate you noticing the details 🥰✨
Tonks the girl you said looked familliar plays Osha the Wildling, Shes the one that takes care of Bran and Rickon in game of thrones.
Don’t know if you noticed but in Dumbledore’s office when they caught the DA, the guy holding Harry is Percy Weasley, Ron’s brother. He rejected his family saying they are fools to believe Harry and Dumbledore. He sides with Fudge and the Ministry of magic.
Due to Harry saving Dudley, his future interactions with Harry are far different than his parents. Though we only see this in the books.
"I would just write one time then." Got your wish! lol
