Get Jinxed was Riot's first work with Fortiche if I recall correctly so a bit of polish they had for Arcane was not yet done. It's was also one of Riot's first big character specific promotional videos and it was VERY popular in the community. At the time, people didn't know, but speculated that Vi and Jinx were the sisters in their voice lines

Meesh, Dee Zaheer may be crazy with his ideals but he's not wrong about certain world leaders who need to be out of power. Korra had to deal with a moronic president who failed to realize the consequences of his actions and the long game. A tyrant queen who keeps the best for herself and 1% rather than help her people like her father did after the 100 year war.

I really like this season but the Red Lotus make everyone else's bending look really weak.

I really hope you'll watch the LoL Worlds 2021 opening ceremony which has a bunch of the musicians perform the songs live, all in a live set of zaun along with extra promo content for arcane before it released

I cannot wait for the reaction to the next episode!

"any type of extreme will be bad" ... yeah, I don't buy that at ALL, mostly because "extreme" is not objective. What's extreme to one group is status quo to another. Rejecting things purely because they feel far from the norm is just reflexive small conservatism Zaheer is vaguely aligned with the early twentieth century anarchists, specifically, those who believed in "propaganda of the deed." That is, they thought that by assassinating political or commercial leaders that the people would then rise up in revolution. Assassination attempts, both successful and unsuccessful happened, but it didn't produce the revolution they had hoped for. The tactic was ultimately rejected even by the folks who had originally advocated for it. But, and this is really important, their goal was never chaos. Having Zaheer aim for chaos puts him into the "silly movie villain space," which is really a shame, 'cause having Korra be forced to face what maintaining "order" really implies means for the people would have been interesting. (But it's probably not a story that could be written by a bunch of vaguely liberal writers, as it would challenge their beliefs too much.)

Zaheer is creepy AF... An honest villain.... I must say... and Unalaq being a Red Lotus, color me surprised - NOT! Aiwei could fly off a cliff (which he sorta did LOL) and I wouldn't have enough carebears in the world to give a sh*t 🤣 Asami: I learned to play from my Dad. The diabolical genius... I'll destroy you. Me: *kneels* Yes, Mistress!!! 🤤🤤 *cough* uhm, oops.... forget that last part 🤣🤣

So this episode explains how zaheer knew where korra was in zaofu, remember he meditated at the end of the 6th episode and he said “korra is with the metal clan” cause he was talking to Aiwei in the spirit world.

Now we find out why Zaheer was good at airbending so quickly. If Korra was successfully kidnapped by the Red Lotus, He was going to be her "Airbending Master". Since Tenzin was the only Airbender in the world at the time, they used the next-best thing: a fanboy who's really into Airbender culture

A lot of reactors have a lot of hate for Upham. Dude is a translator - not a Ranger like the guys in Tom Hank’s unit - or the members of the Airborne (another elite unit). No one knows how they will react underfire - everyone likes to think they would be Captain America but you just don’t know. I have sympathy for him - He’ll spend the rest of his life regretting not doing more. Fear is powerful - can 100% shut a person down.

2019 is by far the coolest opening ceremony and i'd highly recommend watching it. obviously it has nothing to do with arcane, but it's worth watching just to see how epic it is.

the opening in 2019 was my favorite by far, and not only cause it was in france xD

First, love the new Mac Background. The video started & instantly I noticed it (the red is very striking in the cooler colors you tow are wearing & the general atmosphere of the living room(?). Not sure if it was intentional or not, but the blue of the missal and the blue of your partly cloudy moon (does that have a story behind it?) light matches really good. Maybe sacrilege, but I wonder how the red would look if it was matching the pinker hue of the moon. There were three different things that struck me in this video: the transition between animation (2 & 3D), CGI, & life action, the musical performances (how hard they went for it), & the story we got between Jinx & Vi (especially since there's no talking. All their emotions were through their body language). Am I the only one who wants Vi to just hug Jinx. Not a normal hug, no, one of those hugs that you get when you don't want to let someone go ever again, one of those minute long hugs that only end because the threat has passed. Hope you don't mind, I might Photoshop that later. =^._.^=

Normally these openings are live and they integrate a lot of overlay CGI and use light projections to join the live performance and in game characters. Some shows were better than others but all of them were made with a lot of love and care (and money). The live audience does make a difference though. Seeing so many people cheer hypes up the matches! This one was during Covid, so no live performances or audience, but they made it special anyway

"A thousand times I've imagined this moment, never like this." I love that line so much. His entire life has had one purpose. To build the nation of Zaun. Constantly working towards that goal and dreaming of making it a reality. And when he finally gets his chance he doesn't think it's worth it anymore. Look back at episode 3 when Silco is talking to Vander after having captured him. How he looks up, zones out and imagines "The nation of Zaun". Such a beautifully written villain, I don't think anyone even comes close to how that character made me feel.

There is this guy called Necrit on youtube who makes lore videos about League of Legends and ofc that includes Arcane, he has made a few videos about it, so might be fun to watch them if you are interested in that. It might also be interesting to learn about the lore in general, even if you aren't interested in playing the games cause it's actually really interesting lore. And since Arcane is technically part of League of Legends lore now, it might be interesting to learn about the world in which it is from.
