      1) Richard Harris who played Dumbledore in first two movies passed away in 2002 and Michael Gambon was cast at this role.
2)Expecto Patronus - work from good memorys of caster. The stronger good felings in memory - the stronger cast will be. Thats why Harry cast stronger version of spell. He imagined "happy life with godfather".

You guys are so perceptive! I love how even as Hermione is explaining the time turner to harry that you're all like 'The rock thing was them!!' before it even happened lol
What they don't mention in the movies is the reason why there is always a new DADA (Defense Against the Dark Arts) teacher - Tom Riddle applied for the position and was rejected by Dumbledore and so Voldemort put a curse on the position so that no one could hold the post for more than a year.

The film left out some BIG details about the Marauders. Lupin was bitten by a werewolf at a young age, and as such was fated to have a life of exile, but Dumbledore arranged to have him come to school by taking measures to protect the other students. On full moon nights, they snuck him into the Shrieking Shack using the tunnel under the Whomping Willow, where he could transform away from other students. Only Lupin's friends James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew figured out that Lupin was a werewolf, and instead of shunning him they learned how to transform into animals so they could accompany him. Snape, who was in their year at school, also figured out the secret, and very nearly got killed by werewolf Lupin, only for James to grudgingly help him.
Years later, when Voldemort was after the Potters, they hid themselves using a spell called the Fidelius Charm, which held a location hidden within a single person. Sirius thought that he would be the obvious choice as secret keeper for his friends, so he convinced them to instead use Peter Pettigrew as secret keeper, as it was assumed that Voldemort would think that Sirius, the stronger wizard, would actually be the secret keeper, only Peter was a traitor, and on Halloween night 1981, he revealed the Potters location and Voldemort killed Harry's parents and gave Harry his scar. The next day Sirius figured out what happened and chased after Peter, only for Peter to blow up a street behind him, killing thirteen muggles and then turning into a rat and vanishing into the sewers, leaving Sirius to take the blame and be sent to Azkaban without trial.
Also, Patronuses take on the form of an animal, and in Harry's case, it is a stag, or a male European deer, the same animal that his father James could turn into when he was alive.

Also, they created the Maurauder's Map! Mooney (Lupin), Wormtail (Peter the rat), Padfoot (Sirius the dog), and Prongs (James the stag). They had an incredible knowledge of the layout of Hogwarts due to their night time sneaking! Another small detail is that the bike Higrid rides is Sirius' bike, and that they met each other on the night the Potters died in Godric's Hollow. Sirius gifted Hagrid the bike.

Something that's not really explained is that in the book, the reason why Sirius escaped now and not before was that he saw the newspaper clipping of the Weasleys in Egypt with Pettigrew on Ron's shoulder... He always thought Pettigrew was dead until then.
At that point, he knew that Peter was at school with Harry and escaped to try to get to him before Peter did anything to Harry.

    • @NoirChloe
      @NoirChloe 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

And how did Sirius get the newspaper? He got it from Fudge when he was visiting Azkaban. Fudge thought Sirius just wanted to read the news, so he didn't see anything wrong in giving him the newspaper that he was carrying in his hands. Sirius was quite polite, I guess.
And I thought it quite amusing in the book as well that the dementors could feed only on humans' emotions. So when Sirius turned into a dog - they just missed him because they could no longer sense the human emotions.
And another thing... The shrieking shack got its name because Lupin was transforming and wrecking things there. Locals thought that the building became the host for a bunch of ghosts. But even after Lupin had finished Hogwarts and left, the legend still carried on and the building was still believed to be haunted despite being quiet for years.

Before J.K. Rowling published Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, she was diagnosed with clinical depression. While writing the initial novel, Rowling suffered from the loss of her mother, a failed marriage, unemployment, and the struggles being a single mother. She viewed herself as a failure and was plagued by depression to the point that she contemplated suicide. After relocating to Scotland with her young child, Rowling used her emotions as inspiration in her writing. She credited the presence of Dementors as being a metaphor for depression.
    So, yeah, Dementors are dark.

I remember watching a documentary about her life before Harry Potter, and you can imagine what a dark place she must’ve been in. Think she’s said before she often felt like a failure. Getting her degree and having a child to then be stuck on benefits, coming out of a failed marriage and the only thing keeping her going was her daughter and the story she was writing.
I like that she talked so much about how she felt an obligation to do right by the story. She really loved the world that she was building and wanted it to be successful, but what she truly wanted is to be a published author.
When she spoke of her mother and one of the regrets she has in life is not keeping her mother on the phone just that little bit longer the last time they spoke, it really is relatable, and the fact her mother never got to see what Harry Potter became. I will always hold JK Rowling in high esteem and value the world she created. The fact that so many years have gone by and millions of people are still in love with the world of Harry Potter speaks volumes. The merchandise etc still makes 100s of millions of dollars eveyr year and hogwarts legacy was one of the highest selling games of 2023. She’s given a lot to many people. Not mentioning all the charity work she’s done over the years. Her mother would for sure be overjoyed with all she accomplished.

@@Evyatar-pk4jv well after the first movies massive success she was essentially in possession of a gold mine. What I respect her a lot for was keeping the quality of the books throughout all 7. I think many people would have became distracted and fed up after all the money and fame came in, but she made the books so special. I like how she didn’t change her vision for the movies either. It’s clear that she wouldn’t alter or add things for the sake of the movie production. She wouldn’t even really tell anyone about what was coming, she had the books and let the movies do their thing.
Would be hard to stay focused on the story with millions upon millions going into your bank every month. The world she’s created is being passed down through generations and it’s a pretty timeless story.

So James, Lupin, Sirius and Pettigrew were all friends. Three of them are an Animagus and one is a werewolf.
Moony is for the werewolf, aka Remus Lupin.
Wormtail is for the rat, aka Peter Pettigrew.
Padfoot is for the dog, aka Sirius Black.
Prongs is for the stag, aka James Potter.

    • @rafaelmatos5851

The fact that James, Sirius and Pettigrew took an immense risk to become Animagi just so they could be with Remus when he transformed during the full moon just shows how their friendship was strong. I mean, becoming an Animagus was the only way for that, since werewolves only attack humans and their bite is harmless on animals. Being an Animagus (in an animal form) is actually the only way for a wizard to be bitten by a werewolf without becoming one.

The Leaky Cauldron is a natural meeting spot because it's the entrance to Diagon Alley. Where all kids go to do their back-to-school shopping.
Harry's patronus took the shape of a Stag because Harry's father, James, was an animangas as well.
James, serious, and Peter all became animangas when they found out Lupin was a werewolf, to keep their friend company during the full moon. Rumors of the shrieking Shak being haunted came from Lupin's monthly howling.
The four best friends were also the creators of the Marauder's map. That's why Lupin knew how to use it.

Remis J Lupin has no choice but to turn into a werewolf when the moon comes out at night. When he does, he can't control his actions. That's the only bad part about him. Because of this his 4 other friends decided to become an animagus so they can choose to become animals at any time, to help him, and so he won't be alone. This is why Remus's worst fear is the moon and that's why the Boggart turned into the moon when jumped in front of Harry. Also, they are ones who made Marauder's Map. They even had nicknames because of their animals. James - Stag, Prongs. Remus - Werewolf, nickname Moony. Sirius - Dog/ wolf, Padfoot. Peter - rat, Wormtail.

A few fun facts, The Marauder's Map was partially created by Lupin, who went by Moony as said on the map. The other creators were James Potter (Prongs), Pettigrew (Wormtail), and Sirius (Padfoot). And it didn't show the Chamber of Secrets as the creators didn't know where it was, plus it was Unplottable.
Unplottability is a spell used to mask certain locations and/or make it so it won't appear on maps. An example of this is the Room of Requirement, as when Harry entered it in Deathly Hallows, Ron and Hermione saw that he disappeared from the map
Also the reason Sirius was able to escape was because he was an Animagus. The Trace can't detect some forms of magic, and it doesn't say who cast a certain spell, only that it was performed near/by an underage wizard. Wizards/Witches have to undergo a sort of ritual (which involved an incantation which would set off the Trace) to gain the ability to transform and it took a long while to achieve and if done incorrectly could result in disaster, but the transformation itself won't set off the Trace. This means the Ministry made it so you have to register to become an Animagus.
Sirius is an unregistered Animagus. The Ministry probably believed his ritual went awry and he unsuccessful with his ritual to become an Animagus (which he underwent at the age of 15), and so he was able to elude the Ministry of his ability to transform. Wormtail is also unregistered as he managed to elude the Ministry all these years.
Here's the wiki page on Animagi and the ritual regarding it for those curious: harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Animagus#Acquiring_the_skill

The character of Crabbe wasn't featured until the final book but Jamie Waylett (Crabbe) probably had some issues. In 2009, a few years after Azkaban, he was arrested while driving in possession of a knife and several bags of pot. They discovered he had been growing pot. I suspect his issues went even deeper because this seemed to be a reason for removing him from the HP cast. He was arrested again just before the series ended for "violent disorder" during a riot. He was seen in a photo 'holding a Molotov cocktail (glass bottle filled with gasoline, a homemade bomb) and 'drinking from a stolen bottle of champagne. I believe he was in his very early 20's at the time. After serving 2 years in prison, he came out looking different, quit acting, and makes money "selling" his celebrity. So sad. I hope life gives him more happiness and less despair.

What? Crabbe is introduced in the first book and appears in every single one. He doesn’t just randomly appear in the last book. In the first book, Malfoy meets Harry for the third time(they meet briefly in Diagon Alley at the robe shop and again on the train) outside of a classroom(Potions I think) and he’s accompanied by two boys who he introduces as Crabbe and Goyle.

Book 2 he’s involved in the polyjuice ruse as seen in the movie. Book 3 he dresses as a dementor to scare Harry during Quidditch. Book 4 he, Draco and Goyle are the ones who give out the “Potter stinks” badges. Book 5 he starts a fight with Harry and George on the Quidditch court which results in Umbridge giving Harry and George lifetime bans from Quidditch and he and Draco ambush Harry on the train in retaliation for him getting their fathers arrested. Book 6 he and Goyle guard the room of requirement while Draco deals with the vanishing cabinet. And book 7 his only significant act is accidentally unaliving himself.

When harry potter's parents went into hiding dumbledore cast a protection charm to hide them from voldemort. The charm required there to be a trusted person that knew the password to find them. Harry's parents chose Sirius Black to be this person. At the last moment it was changed from Siruis to Peter to throw voldemort off. No one knew this except siruis, peter and harrys parents. When harrys parents died, Sirius knew that Peter had betrayed them. He was the only one who knew. Everyone else thought Siruis betrayed them. Even Lupin and Dumbledore because they didnt know they switched. Siruis confronted Peter after their death and peter blew up a street killing many people. Then he cut off his finger to make it look like he blew up too and transformed into a rat and ran away. Making it look like Sirius was the only one standing at the crime scene. Peter went into hiding as a rat. He framed Sirius for the murder of those people, his own murder and of the death of the Potters. Thats why Lupin looked so shocked when Harry told him he saw pettigrew.
Lupin, harry's dad James, Sirius and Peter were all friends at school. Lupin was a werewolf, and the others learned to turn into animagus's so they could be around Lupin when he transformed. Apparently a werewolf was only a danger to humans. The 4 of them created the map. Thats how Lupin knew what it was. Moony (Lupin), Wormtail (Peter), Padfoot (Sirius), Prongs (James). Harrys dad could transform into a Stag.

Someone said below to skip the Fantastic Beast movies. Don't listen to them. They're great movies. I think some people wanted something like Harry Potter again . Probably thought that was what they were going to get because it's set in the wizarding world. But It's an adult story with many characters mentioned in the HP stories that gives us some great back story that helps to understand why Dumbledore and Hagrid were the way they were. When you watch the Fantastic Beast movies, we get some significant info that was only in the HP books and left out of the HP movies. They're not based on J.K. Rowling books (because she didn't write any) but the series is based on backstory notes she made for all the major and secondary characters in the HP series. Unlike the HP movies, Rowling had a more active hand in the FB movies and the quality of the script shines through. Although there is action in Fantastic Beasts, story and character arcs trump action, which explains to me why people who are more about action than story don't like FB.

Hard disagree, especially about the second one. I can’t speak to the third as I never saw it, but the second was a complete mess. And a huge problem is that Joanne isn’t a script writer. She tried to cram way too much into it, which led to it basically being one big exposition dump. Plus trying to combine the two vastly different storylines that just did not go together.

Harry's personality in this film and the ones after have nothing to do with teenage angst or Voldemort's personality - it's anger & grief due to tragity of losing his parents & his only blood relatives mistreating him, but also because of his contact with the dementors. Anger like that builds up and becomes volatile.
Side note: Professor Lupin was feeding Harry chocolate - the reason is because it helps lighten the consumer's mood after being in contact with dementors.

Nice to see you react to this one, one of my favourites out of the entire series. Some details left out of the movies that leave some movie watchers a bit confused.
    1. Patronuses come in different forms: non-corporeal and corporeal. The charm is very advanced, but the hardest form to produce is corporeal ones. The non-corporeal patronus is basically a little mist, while a corporeal one takes the form of an animal. That is the strongest form, and that is why Harry's patronus takes the form of a stag by the end.
    2. As others have mentioned, James Potter was an animagus and his form was a stag. That explains why Harry's patronus is a stag.
    3. The Marauders (James, Peter, Sirius, and Remus) created the Marauders' map, which is why Lupin knows what it is and how to operate it, and why Sirius knows that "the map never lies."
    4. It was Snape who snitched on Lupin's werewolf status. After Harry and Hermione saves Sirius, Snape is still convinced that Sirius is a felon, that Lupin assisted him, and he (probably through a mind-searching magic called legilimency which Snape is known for being skilled at) is also convinced that Harry and Hermione helped him escape. He has a whole argument with Dumblefore and Fudge about it and the end of book three and he gets kinda crazy about it.
    5. Snape brewed wolfsbane potion for Lupin, which is a potion that allows you somewhat to retain your mind when you turn into a werewolf. Because of the commotion, Lupin forgot to take his potion that night and that's why he turned into a werewolf with no control over his actions.
    6. Lupin is giving Harry chocolate because it releases chemicals such as dopamine and endorphins which makes you feel better, since the presence of dementors drain you of all positive emotion.

The story behind the Marauder's Map (as I have put it together):
James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew were sorted together into Gryffindor House and became fast friends. Lily also joined them, with James and Lily eventually becoming romantically involved.
Remus had a little problem though; he had been bitten by a werewolf when he was very young, before he started school.
Werewolves are supposed to register with the Ministry of Magic, to oversee potential problems, but Remus's father used his influence to keep Remus's condition hushed up, which was relatively easy when he was at home but harder once he was required to attend school. I believe Dumbledore joined the conspiracy of secrecy because of what being a registered werewolf would mean to Remus's future options in life. Dumbledore had a Hogwarts out building moved to a more isolated part of the grounds, a tunnel dug to join the building to an unused exit from Hogwarts, and the Whomping Willow planted at the Hogwarts-side tunnel entrance. This gave Remus a place to go to when the moon was full, so he could weather the lunar changes in private and keep the students and staff safe. The outbuilding got a reputation of being severely and uncomfortably haunted and the Shrieking Shack got its name from Remus's screams and howls once a month.
Remus's pals wanted to help, so they got Professor McGonagall (an animagus who takes cat form) to put them through the difficult and not always successful process of become animagi. The boys figured they could 'babysit' Remus while he was a werewolf. They could direct him away from people who could be infected with lycanthropy while being animals themselves and immune to lycanthropy. As it was, they all three succeeded were successful.
An animagus only takes one animal form and cannot choose which form that to become; it is organically determined by the character of the person becoming an animagus. James became a stag (remarkable, since James's Patronus was also a stag), Sirius a black dog, and Peter a rat. On the basis of these forms, they took nicknames: James became 'Prongs', Sirius became 'Padfoot', and Peter became 'Wormtail'. In honor of his lycanthropy, Remus became 'Moony'. And to further help navigate the Hogwarts property and keep everyone safe, they created the Marauder's Map.
The final piece of this tale is that animagi are ALSO supposed to register with the Ministry of Magic, which no one did.
And it turns out to be beneficial for Sirius, shut away in Azkaban when Peter faked his death and framed Sirius for the crime.
One day Sirius had a visitor and saw the newspaper photo of the Weasleys in Egypt. He recognized Peter Pettigrew in rat form and was so enraged that he changed into his dog form and left Azkaban.
Dementors ignore animals; too little emotion to bother with when you have a crowd of prisoners to feed off of.
If Sirius had been a registered animagus, steps would have been taken to ensure he would not escape.
    _____________________________
Pay attention to the character names.
JK Rowling spent 17 years on this story, editing and re-editing, weaving things back and forth, doing deep dive research.
Many of the names contain info about the particular character.
    'Sirius'
Sirius is better known as 'the Dog Star', the brightest star in the sky and in its constellation of Canis Major (the Great Dog).
    'Remus' 'Lupin'
    Lupin is Latin for wolf.
Remus was the twin brother of Romulus (founder of Roman and from whom we get the city's name of Rome). The origin myth of Rome begins with Romulus and Remus being found as abandoned infants in the forest; a she-wolf finds them and feeds them with her milk, keeping them alive.
    'Lily' and 'Petunia'
The meanings of these floral names come from a real. historical social convention: Victorian Fower Language.
When presenting flowers during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, people of social standing paid special attention to which flowers were presented so as not to commit a social faux pas.
    Lily meant 'purity/beloved'.
    Petunia meant 'anger/resentment'.
    'Quirinus'
Quirinus Quirrell carried a first name that was associated with Roman god Janus, from whom we get the name of the month 'January'. Janus's most distinguishing feature, shared with Quirinus, was having two faces, one at the front of the head and the other at the back. It was said one looked to the future while the other looked back at the past.
    'Minerva'
Minerva was the Romanization of virgin Greek goddess Athena. She was goddess of justice, productive war (as in resolving conflict and working towards peace), strategy, learning, and athletics.
Professor McGonagall's first name is 'Minerva'.
    'Sybil'
A sybil is a seer, usually one who prophesizes while in trance. The oracles at Delphi were sybils.
Professor Trelawney's first name is Sybil.
    'Argus'
Argus was a servant of Greek goddess Hera, married to unfaithful husband Zeus. Hera tasked Argus to watch Zeus and report back if he started 'fooling around' with other females. To help him with this, Hera gave him a hundred eyes, so even in sleep there would always be at least 50 of them awake and observing. When he was killed, Hera placed his eyes on the bird sacred to her: the peacock. Even now, peacocks serve as grounds guardians due to noise they make when they find strangers on the property.
Filch's first name is Argus; he's made it a personal job to find and report students breaking school rules.
These are just a sample. I invite you to participate in this game of literary hide & seek.
    _____________________________
Hermione and Harry are NOT going back in time to 'change' anything; they are going back to fulfill what already happened.
They are following a 'timeline', they are running along a 'time loop'.
What they go back to do already happened; the loop is woven into the timeline.
    It's quite ingenious and unexpected.
When Hermione, Harry, and Ron watched the 'execution' of Buckbeak, their view was obscured by trees and bushes. They never saw the axe fall on Buckbeak. And it's obvious Dumbledore had some foreknowledge of what is happening by the way he is misdirecting the attention of the Minister and the executioner away from Harry and Hermione getting Buckbeak into the forest.

44:03 Not explained in the movie but basically when Harry's parents went into hiding they employed a powerful form of magic to conceal them, this magic made it so even if Voldemort stood right in front of them he would not see them. For this magic they are required to divulge there whereabouts to a single person called a secret keeper and as long as this person kept the secret they would be safe, for the Potters Dumbledore volunteered to be the secret keeper but James elected instead to make his best friend Sirius the secret keeper. Before the ritual for the secret keeper could be completed Sirius convinced James to use Peter Pettigrew instead as he knew that Voldemort would suspect him(Sirius) so he planned to lead Voldemort on a chase before he himself would go into hiding but he had no idea Pettigrew was already working for Voldemort.
Once Sirius heard of what happened he chased down Pettigrew to avenge Lily and James but was also somewhat crazy feeling guilty that he suggested Pettigrew.

I always had an issue with the Fidelius charm & this whole "confuse Voldemort" plot...
The secret keeper had to divulge the secret, or Voldemort couldn't even see them, right? I think the phrase in the book was something like "he could have had his face pressed up against their living room window & not been able to see them"...
So what would have happened if the secret keeper just stayed with the Potters? Hidden in the same house? How does Voldemort find the house, if the person he needs to find the house is already inside the house?
Or if for whatever reason, that's not possible long term... why not do two Fidelius charms, on James for Sirius and on Sirius for James? And everybody stays at their own house?
So you need James to find Sirius, but you need Sirius to find James... so you can't find either 😂
Like why was the solution "make the secret keeper Pettigrew?" Honestly, I expected smarter from Dumbledore...

You know that newspaper article about the Weasleys in Egypt? Well, that article is what allowed Sirius to escape Azkaban... in a way. Living for 12 years surrounded by Dementors, Sirius was almost driven mad, but the thought of his innocence allowed him to retain his sanity. But after seeing that article showing the Weasleys, he was able to recognize Pettigrew in his rat form (since he had seen him transforming many times during their younger years) and, knowing that he would be with Harry in Hogwarts, gave Sirius the motivation he needed to finally escape, by turning into a dog (his Animagus form). You see, Dementors are blind and rely on their ability to sense emotions. But they can't exactly difference emotions between different humans (if they are very similar) and, even if they can sense a difference a human and an animal, they simply thought that Sirius was losing his mind (like any other prisioner) and so they left him alone as he made his escape.

You guys are very insightful, keep making predictions. In the book, Harry learns that the Marauders all became animagi so they could be with Lupin when he transformed. Sirius was a dog (Padfoot), Pettigrew was a rat (Wormtail) and James was a stag (Prongs). Your animagus is also your patronus or spirit animal, so when Harry sees the stag across the lake he thinks it's his dad. Harry also has a stag animagus. When a patronus charm is very powerful, it takes the form of your spirit animal

Great reaction! You girls are so perceptive you catch up on things so fast and accurately! keep the good guesses!
Next movie is when the dark dark the REAL darkness starts to show! Can't wait! :)
47:19 It's a stag "male deer" that's what a full Patronus looks like, it's not a shield, what he conjured when Lupin taught him was a figment of the real deal! The full Patronus takes the shape of the animal that suits your personality and emotions the best so for Harry here his Patronus took the shape of his father's Animagus form! I saw people told you already that, like Peter the rat and Sirius the black big dog, James Potter used to turn into a stag and the 4 friends used to run about the school grounds and do mischief together and to accompany and help Lupin through his phasing times.
That's how they came to make the map! and named it after their nicknames they gave each other based on their forms.
James the stag was Prongs, Peter the rat was Wormtail, Sirius the big dog was Padfoot and Lupin the werewolf was Moony.
The 3 "Peter, James and Sirius" learned Animagi to help Lupin and support him through his phasing as animals. It's a very advanced magic and the process of learning it is very hard but they did it for him.
Once you learn it you turn into the animal that suits your personality the most. Much like how the Patronus charm works.
And so due to Harry's big connection and resemblance to his dad, his Patronus took after his dad's Animagus form.
58:20 It's the darkest thing yet yeah.. they're supposed to represent depression according to the author Rowling :(
59:25 YES! and how Ron was THE ONLY one to notice and comment on it every time had a reason as well! It shows that he's out of them all is the most aware of her! because he's actually watching her or alert to her presence because he likes her! Unlike Harry who never really paid attention to it.

this is never explained in the movies but James, Sirius, Lupin and Peter Pettigrew were all friends in school and because of Lupins condition of being a werewolf, in their third year they all learned to become Animagus so that Lupin wouldnt be alone in the Shreaking Shack during his transformations every full moon. Also they are the makers of the Marauders Map, Moony (Lupin), Wormtail (Peter), Padfoot (Sirius), and Prongs (James). Which are nicknames they all gave eachother based on their respective transformations.James could transform into a Stag and James patronus was also a Stag and this is why Harry thinks he sees him across the lake, but actually Harry just produced a corporeal patronus (which is just a patronus that takes the form of an animal) and his also takes the form of a Stag. Not sure why they left this explanation out of the movie since it does answer a lot.

There's a TikToker who makes funny Hogwarts parody videos. Her characters have Slytherin being about what you'd think, Ravenclaw and Griffyndor generally being minor characters who aren't all that noteworthy, and her Hufflepuff character being the outright evil character that epitomizes "it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for." So don't worry about being in Hufflepuff - it might just mean you'd scare the pants off a Slytherin. ;)

I love this movie. Still my favourite Harry Potter movie. The Director, Alfonso Cuarón, did an excellent job.
God I wish they had paid more attention to the dialogue.

Harry is one of the strongest proponent of patronaus charm, his moments with his godfather triggered that strong charm, this whole sequence is so beautifully written in the book.
There are only few things harry does better than hermoine this charm is one of them.

Our trio’s ages correspond to the movie. Harry’s just turned 11 in the 1st movie, 12 in 2nd movie, 13 in this movie & so on…in the 6th movie, u guessed it, 16. Just easy way to remember.

It's a bit more difficult to follow with all the cut bits from the book, but when Harry disarms Snape, he already knows that his dad James, his bff Sirius, and Lupin were school friends and Snape and James hated each other. So he fears that Snape's judgement is clouded by petty vengeance, and that's why he decides to hear him out and knocks out Snape before he makes a mistake.

What the movies don't tell you is that Prof Lupin, Serius, Petigrew and harry's dad were mooney, wormtail, padfoot, and prongs created the marauders's map. That is how Lupin knows how to use it.

You don't truly get to see how crazy it was Hermione using the Time-Turner to get to classes. You see, third years are required to have elective classes and Hermione selected all of them, causing her schedule to have overlaps. Because she was a model student, McGonagall managed to get her a Time-Turner. But even with her being able to attend the classes, the tremendous amount of school work was too much for even a student like her to deal with in a healthy way, so she dropped two of them (including Divination) so that her schedule could go back to normal.
One fun fact is that, despite Hermione's clear dislike for Divination (the study of guessing future events), something that was only amplified by her even greater dislike for Professor Trelawney, her favorite subject was Arithmancy, another field of magic that studies the future, but using numbers, being seen as a more "accurate" version of predicting the future.

When it comes to the time travel in this movie it's considered a closed loop. Everything that is to happen will happen has happened. So they didn't actually go back and change anything because they actually already did go back and it's already recorded in history basically. Now if you're dealing with say back to the future or Marty McFly goes back in time and Alters the past changing his parents future because they physically change themselves. That's branching off a timeline.

I just stumbled upon your channel and I am loving seeing how you reacted discovering this amazing magical world.
Others have probably already mentioned this, but some forget and some never realize it. When the Sorting Hat magically looks into a student's mind to sort them into a Hogwarts House, it is not based on what traits they already possess, but based on the qualities they value most.
❤Gryffindor values bravery, loyalty, and chivalry.❤
💙Ravenclaw values intelligence, creativity, and wit.💙
💛Hufflepuff values kindness, hard work, and patience.💛
💚Slytherin values ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness.💚
This explains why Hermione who is smart (like a Ravenclaw) and Neville who is loyal (like a Hufflepuff) both end up in Gryffindor; they value bravery more than anything else.

If you like the movies, the books are the same but with 10x more details... also, you mentioned how it always shows Christmas, and in the books they show all the holidays every year and are really great at depicting the passage of time in the school year with a lot more class descriptions, events, and descriptions of the decorations changing with the seasons. For example, in the first book during Halloween, they get invited to a ghost's Deathday party, which isn't included in the movie at all.

Most of what I comment may already be covered in other comments. I know the info about the Marauders was so I'll skip that.
The opening scene with Harry practicing shouldn't have been there since they aren't allowed to do magic outside school, even practicing.
Harry didn't purposely blow up Marge. He lost control of his magic because he was so angry and upset. The Ministry has a Department Of Accidental Magic Reversal because it happens fairly often, especially with kids. However Harry would have at least gotten a stern lecture and a warning if they hadn't been more concerned about making sure he was safe from an escaped mass murderer.
In the book Harry was at The Leaky Cauldron for a week or two which he spent exploring Diagon Alley until the Weasleys abd Hermione arrived. The Leaky Cauldron is where the entrance to Diagon Alley is. That's why they're all there.
Only first years go to Hogwarts by boat when they get off the train. The rest of the time they go in carriages.
Emma Thompson (Prof. Trelawney) is still alive. I think you misook her for someone else.
20:57 Draco ignoring the 2 rules about Hippogriffs that Hagrid emphasized then acting like a baby over an injury Madam Pomfrey healed in less than 2 minutes.
    Whomping Willow not weeping. 😂

So it was Ron Harry and Hermione that actually did the Expelliarmus on Severus Snape at the same time. In the books it was Ron that was standing on his broken leg bleeding out stating that if he wanted Harry serious black would have to go through him first, so it wasn't Hermione who did it in the book it was wrong showing How brave and how loyal he was to Harry in that moment.

“Animagus” is a contraction of “animal” and the Latin “magus” meaning magician.
