I had to pause as the “names” were scrolling at the beginning of the video. I literally laughed out loud when I saw the “Pain in the butt” “I’m not doing it” and “I don’t wanna” parts scroll by. I’ve probably said those phrases several times when I first started learning magic loop/ring/whatever. Thank you for the humor, and this video!
I've been crocheting for years and have always been in the "I can't figure these things out" and avoid doing them, though I've watched dozens of how-to videos, and was never able to do them. Until your video. I'm so excited, I can finally figure them out, using your single-loop method. Thank you like, a billion times over! It's not pretty and it takes these old fingers of mine some manipulations but, I can actually do it! Thanks so much for this.
Thank you for showing us this magic circle technique. Until your video the magic circle was frustrating, often taking me an hour or more. Thank you for helping to make the entire crocheting experience joyful!!
I have been watching your videos today and have learned so much, I am 73 years young, have crocheted close to 54 years. I enjoy learning new tricks everyday, there are so many out there. The yarns and fibers have changed so much since I started years ago it is mind boggling. I make Christmas, birthday presents and other gifts for my family.

Love your Furbabies...you are the crocheters genuine friend...making everything easy and enjoyable, instead of turning it into brain surgery like Too many with channels! I could go on...but I won't..Blessings and Thank You for excellent, useful tutorials.
This is such a comprehensive video, you covered every way to do a starting circle/loop that I've ever seen! Thank you for all the close-up video, so we can see each step. Great video! ❤️🧡💛🤍🤎🖤💚💙💜
Oh my gosh!!!! I have watched so many videos on how to do this but you made it so easy!!! I finally understand how to do it and was successful!!! Thank you
Oh my goodness. Where have you been in all the time I have been crocheting?? LOL (okay, it's only been a couple of years since I started! hahaha). I have skipped over patterns that I wanted to try because I couldn't understand the magic circle. Actually, my alternative names were in your list (Pain in the butt, I'm not doing it....) I watch your video and got it on the 2nd try---only because I didn't have the video expanded for the first try and I didn't twist the yarn properly. THANK YOU!! You have opened a whole new world of crochet for me!
Wonderful - AGAIN - working on your other video about the Moss stitch granny square [SUCCESS] in concert with THIS video where I learned for the first time about the Magic Ring - and only when I broke the code here, did the final piece fall into place for the other video. Love it !
They were such good participants!!! I've been doing your Magic Ring ever since you demonstrated it, I truly believe your method is so so much easier!!!!!!!
I've watched eight videos before this one trying to figure out the magic ring and this is the only one that actually explains how this works. I love your stuff and am considering doing the infinite granny square you demonstrated as well.
I must say I love your channel and videos! It's very agreeable and clear to watch, I have currently lost my hook (oops 😂) and I can't wait to start again while watching your videos! Thank you so much for this amazing content 😊
Like so many others I want to thank you so much🎉 I have been trying to get this stuck in my brain for literally days- now finally I think I’ve got it! ❤
Wow!thanks sooo much for the magic loop one . I've been following another way but to be honest compared to your way its been making it actually more confusing for me .But this is spot on .Thankyou again. New sub x
Thank you so much! The problem I think is that if you don't do the slipstitch this way it's hard to do the magic circle. So what I did first was learn how you did the slipstitch. Remember to take a deep breath and try again. ❤
video with all the crochet terminology please ee ... SL, INC, SC INC, etcetera... i barely got the ring and lost again at the second row of an egg trying to do... 😁
@ I probably watch a million TH-cam’s of the magic ring and couldn’t figure it out! With your video and transcript I put it all together! I have to refind this video to do it each time but I get it done. Thank you!
HELP!!! You did a Great Job teaching me the "magic ring" & I THANK YOU!!! Now, can anyone tell me why it doesn't stay closed tight? Having to take tiny steel crochet hook to "weave" in & pull tighter! Making Face Scrubbies & having Terrible time! Any solution? THANK YOU! 🩷✌️
That’s normal, you need to weave it in to secure that tail like you are . I usually do that after I’ve finished the project otherwise it has a tendency to still loosen back up as you keep crocheting. If you using the sliding loop (the double loop option) you won’t have that issue. The center will stay nice and tight but it’s harder to do than the other one so that’s the trade off ❤️
@@PlayHookywithMe Thank you for info! Still struggling w/magic ring but determined! 🤨 Out of crocheting for too many years! 😢 Got a cell phone, YT & W🤩W, so many new things! 🥰 Thank you to Everyone teaching us new & exciting things! 👍 Only wish I was younger, too many projects in my head! 😅 Happy Hookin!!! 🩷✌️
I get the magic loop, but then crocheting through the loop is where everyone speeds up, and I feel disorganized and I get lost. I need the slow speed to do some slow stitches through the ring and how to organize the yarn in my hands.
You might want to slow down the speed on the video (mine or others ) to see what they are doing but honestly ,chick with guns, it is different for everyone as far as how you hold the yarn and fill the ring. Everyone tensions their yarn differently. You’re going to have a way that you end up doing it that will probably be different from how I do it. This is why tutorials don’t focus on the part. But I’ll remember this in future for other videos about this subject and slow down, thanks.
Yes, it actually is . You won’t have the center shifting open as much . Years back, this was how the magic ring was taught but because it was complicated, the one strand way became more popular . ❤️
I'm a beginner. I want to understand, but I don't. I think it would help me if you didn't have the speeded-up part. If anything, I need to see in in slow motion, several times, probably.
There’s a playback button within TH-cam so you can slow the video down if you need to. No one else has commented this so I would recommend you try that 💕
I think the real trick is find which works best for you and keep practicing. I did just that after watching so many u tubes till I finally got it. I actually completed a few projects but then got covid for a long long time, had a total knee replacement and in between I had to move. FINALLY I picked up my needles and began a project only to forget that darn magic ring 🤦🏻♀️. I’m back to practicing that darn ring, magic loop, or I call it the real pain in my butt loop. I’m determined to conquer it again and I will. See ya on the slopes fellow crocheters. Good luck to all of us❤🧶.
How in the world do people make it look so easy?! I mean at the point im watching them do this stuff in my brain is a mental breakdown 😂😂

Wonderful! 😀
Right! So freaking simple. THANK YOU!

Thank you , Chrissy 💕✨
Omg! Thank you so much. I’ve watched multiple tutorials on how to make a magic circle and yours by far was the easiest to understand.

I prefer the first and second options. I don't like slip knot.
Thank you so much, very helpful and well explained. 💐👌
This is the most simplest & best method to make a magic knot😂 Thank you soooooo much! 🎉 ❤ 😊

wow that's so easy🤣. I'm ten and the loop was hard but now it's easy👍👍. love Lorelai.

It's easier with this tutorial but it's still pretty hard for me.
i dont understand because my slip not isn't working
I can’t see what you’re doing so unfortunately I can’t help with that. Keep trying , you’ll get it 💕
the hard part for the magic ring isn't making the loop it's the stitches T-T
Exactlyyyyyy

Great news you can slow down the video on your end . TH-cam allows you to adjust the speed of the video ❤️
But his was useful
This
You should be a teacher. Thank you

Okay 🙂
it was simple but you did everything else waay too fast
There’s a playback button within TH-cam so you can slow the video down if you need to. No one else has commented this so I would recommend you try that 💕
