    My first BEV was a 2004 registered Citroen Berlingo Electrique with lead acid batteries. Lovely car to drive, sold me on the concept, we are just about to take delivery of our 5th BEV a Skoda Enyaq.

      Actually they have Ni-Cd batteries, I know because I've had five of them and still have one now.

      @@willdatsun Hi William, I don't doubt you but I had to top up the batteries with distilled water every so often, bought mine used from one of the London councils first registered in 2004 range was only about 50 miles. It had a petrol powered heater, loved it!

      @@wilkoone9155 Yes They are nicer to drive than my E-NV200. The heater in them is amazing, and no gratuitous tech. I wish you could still buy new batteries for them.

    Good review Derek, it looks very practical for anyone looking to have 7 seats without spending a fortune. It’s not the prettiest but seems to have space galore. The small battery is a bit of a drawback for such a big car but most families probably only do school and shopping trips 90% of the time in these cars I guess. Still I’d rather a bigger battery myself. Good to see more options on the market anyway.

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland

    is the LONG WHEELBASE version only available as 7 seater or can it be ordered as a 5 seater with just a big boot area? Wish they'd put mechanical handbrakes on these things, far safer , more reliable, and cheaper to repair.

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question Will. I'm not sure, you'll have to reach out to your local dealer to see what they can order from the factory

    Great again Derek. Thanks. It is great to see what I have not considered and realise it is an option. Like other comments good price but needs more range. A usable 350 to 400km is the sweet spot for me.
    Love the idea of the key. It avoids the following....Wife got out of our ( it's really hers) i3 with key in her pocket when I was driving... had to wait until she came back to move again. Also a key stops the fob being cloned and vehicle "borrowed".
    Love the simplicity of the folding rear seats. They would make putting a bike in so easy.
    Will look again when there is more range and active cruise control.
    Thanks again.
    Derek you would have loved the van display at fully charged. Even had a refuse truck. And the id buss looks a lot better in the flesh.

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard a larger battery is coming so that's the range issue potentially sorted. A good old fashioned key is hard to beat. but I do like keyless entry and start, champagne problems I'm told.
      I was at Fully Charged this year on the Friday! In and out with work so no video content.

    Derek, another great review. I’m in the market for a 6-7 seater so this fits the bill. (Currently drive a 7 seat VW Touran). I’m not mad about the design though. Any idea on safety rating? Particularly for passengers (kids) in the back? Or any ideas what else might be coming to the Irish market with 6+ seats?
    Thanks again, Kevin

      Thanks for the comment Kevin. Let me check safety rating with Citroen Ireland. I recently reviewed the Mercedes Benz EQB (7 seater). Marcus are launching a MPV in a few weeks I believe. Not much else I know of on the horizon

      Does the Peugeot version look a bit nicer maybe?

  • @alunhoskins4513
    @alunhoskins4513 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice car and a good van 'conversion'. I've always liked the look of it and the down to earth honesty of the Berlingo. I won''t be buying one though as the model I was seriously considering is the shorter version, the longer one not needed for my use.
    It needs a bigger battery too which I assume will come in time. Not being given the choice of size though - as in all other reviews I've seen, other countries of course - is a huge disappointment.
    So my almost certain purchase is now a non purchase. Which is a pity.
    Great review :-)

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment Alun. I suppose importers are having a tough time trying to figure out and order what they think the market will want. Maybe importing the smaller length from Northern Ireland? A bigger battery would be great but not sure it will ever arrive with this form factor.

      @tanja2651 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@richardthegreat the only thing i can think of is the range. It is a bit limited, but if you don't do a lot of trips longer than 120/180 km(winter/summer) then this won't be much of a nuisance. But the fast charging capability is decent, so the occasional longer trip is possible. If that suits your needs, i'd recommend a test drive.
      I'll do mine literally tomorrow, we are also looking for a car with a bit more space :-)
