This is all well and good, but people need to understand that anger, unhappiness, depression, or whatever other emotion you wish to call it, are the emotions that give birth to the arts and sciences. All I'm saying is that if you're upset, go over to your easel and draw something lovely, or take out your pen and paper and write a wonderful sonnet, or go into your garage and create a one-of-a-kind bird feeder for your yard, or take out your sewing machine and stitch that blouse you've been contemplating. Put your emotions into something positive, and you will feel good, and you will continue to feel good the more you apply yourself in these ways. Your project can be small and almost cost-free. Utilize your creativity.

This is so basic. I have a legitimate reason for being angry and have requested critical information in order to move forward from the person that made a horrible decision that caused my stress and anger. So far they have not provided what I have asked. So I know why I’m angry, I don’t feel guilty about it but I really need this information. What now??
harry chapin sang Cat's in the Cradle...thats not what we're talking about but my music nerd self just had to say that. i love your videos, most importantly.

You keep saying very very old song but i very distinctly remember the songs and other references……and now i’m an old person….but also it helps me relate. so thanks.
I choose to isolate from family more often in order to avoid getting triggered. It’s my way of getting some Control of my peace happiness and love as u say. Yes it is lonely but it’s also empowering. I just need a new family I guess or group of friends…
The only problem I have in this list is bottling. I have no choice but to pack my emotions away and store them, because I don't have anyone I can talk to them about. No one feels safe to at least. I'm sure it's part of the reason I've become emotionally dead. Worst part is, I've been doing it for so many years that I'm not sure if I would know how to do anything different.
Yup. Ive been bottling for pretty much my whole life too. It is very tiring and exhausting to deal with people who have to be right all the time, or people who are quick to tell you about yourself but they never wanna hear about themselves. I’ve concluded that since the powers that be have allowed all of us (in my family) to live like this for so long then he must be okay with this. But I’m not okay with keeping things in anymore. So I’ve resolved to very quietly save my money and disappear. Problem solved!
When the same situations occurs throughout my life no matter how much I personally grow. Always get the same results doesn't matter how hard I work, love, compromise with others, even try to empathize with others. I'm always alone. When I try finding out what happened. I'll get excuses like I was controlling eventhough I'd leave because he didn't love me. He would came back and would change eventhough I'd leave him alone. Yet it's my fault he couldn't love me. Also been accused of being addictive like a drug. That he couldn't let me go these are excuses that I'll hear from men. Somehow it's my fault I don't want to be played. I even had someone tell me he misses me after he tells me he loves someone else. I told him to let go of the past and let me go because he loves someone else. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong because these patterns follow me. In love and work doesn't matter how honest and open about my boundaries. No matter how much I try working with others they try to take advantage of me. Considering I'm 50 and still haven't found love, stability, or a career makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong. Considering I moved alot growing up and the patterns are with different people and places of employment. It can't be just them and when I can't find solutions to problems. I like getting different perspective to help find solutions.
Think less about how you feel in the moment. It's only a moment. How many moments in a day let alone a lifetime. Have no great ideal expectations and remember any time you experience another human being you are in a relationship. Go easy on them a little kindness erases a lot of imperfection and judgements
It's not a matter of them letting you go, it's you not letting them go. People are in our lives for only a season. We grow they grow and letting relationships evolve is loving them and yourself. I'm a widow, I don't want to be alone and if God has another life partner for me our paths will cross if not I'll still be ok alone. I trust God only he knows the future.
@@nunya8843 the point I was making was people pretend to be something their not. I wanted to be left alone told them I wanted to heal first because I want love not lust. Got out of a bad relationship and just wanted to be left alone. The men I met would convince me of something they weren't just to get close to me. Then when the relationship started getting serious they'd bail with their excuses. I'm curious what I'm doing to attract the wrong men. That's why I took myself off the market refuse to date anyone until my heart is completely healed.
I'm also a widow how long have you been a widow? I'm sure there's someone for you in the right time. Just takes time to heal. I'm learning to love myself before finding a partner. Perhaps this is a time for you to find out who you are and what you want from a partner. Also our loving creator will put people or events in your life to help you heal. Your right we never know what our holy father has planned for us just have to look for the love he'd want us to have and give others. Just have to look for the love.
Talking bad about others, lie, wanting others to fail, projecting ones anger upon a sündenbock, complain a lot, being envious, addiction, etc (which applies to ppl depends on their character)

I love your videos. The knowledge you share helps me make sense of so much of what's going on in life. Although I am a student in information technology, I've always tried to be my own therapist, and if the situation enables it, I try to be a therapist to my close ones. I like to imagine that that's one of the best ways to make the world a better place.
These suggestions are beneficial ( hopefully ) if one is to strive to have a better place in relationship with the others. But I happened to be agreed with Jean Paul Sartre the French philosopher who said : “HELL IS WITH OTHER PEOPLE.” you really don’t need them , believe me.
Who do you deal with? I have had good, neutral, and not good-at-all contact with other people---and myself. There are many possible tricky things in life, and people can be one of them, I've found, but they can also be helpful, supportive, kind, interesting, and interested in us too, or neutral. It's worth checking who you are around all the time and seeing if you can do something to improve this situation or your own repeated thoughts that hurt you. At least IMHO. Good luck, it isn't always easy, I know.
I enjoyed your video very much, thank you. I just wanted to mention the song, Cat’s in the Cradle, was song and written by Harry Chapin not Cat Stevens.
Dr Snipes, fess up: you're really Kristen Wiig, aren't you? Kidding aside, this video is both charming and instructive. I learned a lot about myself from it. I've now subscribed to your channel, and I look forward to watching a lot more of your work.
There are some many good points in this video. So many it's like right on the money for me. Is it possible to make specific video pertaining to each point? Maybe not all of them but I was curious what are some options to decide on those compartmentalized (bottled up) by the end of day. Meaning what can we do with them so they won't follow us the next day? Thanks much
Anger is not so bad for me. Once I “vent” I’m ok. Lol. I will very often vent rather quickly and get over it rather quickly. Most of the time tho, it’s def with good reason. Anger is like a good friend to me that lets me know when I should not just sit there and take any bs from someone or when I should step back and take “me time” or get some rest or say no to this or that “obligation.” Etc. And yah. I usually wind up venting in a support group or to a friend or just me alone. I try to get it out without harming anyone else, tho I have no problem with smarting off to some jerk who earned it tho. Lol. If someone obviously doesn’t care how I feel then why should I care if I offend them with giving them a good return on their “investment?” Besides, the way I see it is that it’s just their natural consequences anyways. If you wring a nose, it will most surely bleed.

Wonder how long a person can be unhappy before it becomes the only way to be. He might not even remember what it is like to be happy. You can't miss it, and you don't know you are unhappy, because it is the only way to be. So some very unhappy people, don't even recognize that they are unhappy. There is no frame of reference, a memory of being happy.

Hi. I know you weren't asking me, but I am really huge on self care...I don't know at what stage of life you are, but try spending a Friday night at home, eating your favorite healthy foods, drinking your favorite drinks, taking a bath/working out/doing yoga, or binge watching your favorite TV show, with candles lit for ambiance, whatever makes you feel good...and make it a tradition with yourself to celebrate it being Friday. It will become a comfort to you....then when you're feeling sad or upset, you can do the same routine and it will help you feel better. :) I do this and it's my favorite time spent, with myself just doing whatever I feel like doing whenever I feel like doing it! Some would say it seems like wasted time, but trust me it is the most valuable!

Hello Mrs. Snipes. If I have concerns about my mental health and want to inform my doctor where do I start? What types of lab reports should I request? Would a certain test provide a diagnosis? Would I need several tests? Thank you kindly.
Just write down all your symptoms and concerns ahead of time. Go over them with your Doctor. Possibly, even give your notes to your Doctor's receptionist when you check in....so your Doctor can read over them before he/she come in to see you. It is your Doctor's job to know the tests that are needed.

Put your emotions into something positive, and you will feel good, and you will continue to feel good the more you apply yourself in these ways. Your project can be small and almost cost-free. Utilize your creativity.
Thanks for watching. Wishing you peace, health, and happiness.
Jolly, Anger, hatred and jealousy can lead to severe health issues. Be aware of what you feed your mind and then there will be no unhappiness. To feel better reduce negative thoughts and overthinking. Avoid comparing with others, reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed, avoid moving too much and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. You may reach a state of equanimity. Never meditate with expectations but with awareness. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Observe your breath sensations before sleep, in college, at work, taking a walk, when reading, etc.etc. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.
Some emotions are bad. Plain bad. You can't be creative about them at all. Being positive about the negative is virtually impossible

Than you, i journaled this video. It helps me ask what or why I am upset or depressed and overthinking. Yes, the guilt for MDEs. I need to read about acceptance therapy. Im reading about heart based therapy. Radical acceptance and radical empathy help a great deal. I practice the envisioning my problems on a leaf and let it go upon a stream If I don't I ruminate. I'm sorting it out and loving my mind. Im listening to Jessica Heslop reparenting and motivation/Depression meditations. The eight hours sessions at night let me wake different. Physical Therapy is going well. Case mgmt/regular therapy gave me a tablet to stay in touch with and have journal homework.
Fact based reasoning help me prove my Depression as untrue I can chose better or am doing better on reacting to the past. I decide to study/heal anna Runkle Patrick Teehan Jessica heslop school of life at youtube. I accept it's not mmay fault so I reason at 40+ I'm thankful to be these good environments.

This information is helpful and hope inducing. Sometimes even those of us who love Jesus Christ can tend to get comfortable with hearing from the Holy Spirit and we can tend to go on autopilot with Him and then autopilot with most other things.

Thanks for watching. Wishing you peace, health, and happiness.

Thanks much
Great question. I can do a short video on that.
Thanks for watching. Wishing you peace, health, and happiness.
We all like to get rid of problems it doesn't what it is never it to come up again that how we like to feel about it we got rid of it

I do this and it's my favorite time spent, with myself just doing whatever I feel like doing whenever I feel like doing it! Some would say it seems like wasted time, but trust me it is the most valuable!

Dr Snipes. Are taking direct clients?
Hello Mrs.
Amazing
Thanks!
