    I like how you put things into a framework. I don't have generalized anxiety disorder, but certain situations or scenarios triggers anxiety for me where my brain freezes and I become like a deer in the headlights.

    My life is so controlled by anxiety(I have C-PTSD), this is a very useful video, I didn't realize a lot of my bad habits were this bad for my mental health. Like the foods I eat, how I sleep, and lack of pain management. Maybe sometime I can feel safe.

    You’re tremendously great at what you do and I have learned so much from this video. I grew up with a very anxious and fearful mother who unfortunately parented in that manner. It’s taken me years to break away from her patterns of thoughts and fears even as an adult. Knowing how to re-write the narrative had been huge for me. I’m very self-aware and not my anxiety when it comes it’s often from “old” feelings and not the “facts”. Once again, thank you for what you do. Do you have any books?

      Same life season timing for me! I found that sitting outside on the ground really helps, or lying on the ground looking up thru tree limbs. The sky literally seems to spin around the tree at first, when I'm panicky. Then it becomes still. I never hear anyone mention this emergency fix. Probably because it's free. I also pray for help while lying there looking up!

      @@trembling3674 True! unobstructed daylight also, with no glasses or contacts, needs to get thru the eyes. I would guess half the world's depression would lift if people knew that sunlight is a nutrient & that living 99% of a life incarcerated, in domestic, school or workplace prisons, or the mobile greenhouse of a car, is basically cruel & unusual punishment. It's horrible for babies & old folks in care homes, people in hospitals, animals in factory farms, birds indoors in barbaric cages, & the rest of us. We live so contrary to the great natural laws of earth & cosmos, any person who knows of better ways can help spread the word to help nature & people.

    This was great! I do feel the last sentence should be the first, how the mind can't practice these new reasonable thoughts while in "fight or flight mode." Isn't the entire topic here exactly about being in, & hopefully exiting, fight or flight mode? My anxiety mode is not accessible by these routes of higher brain logic & reason. It's a little kid, unconsciously terrified from possibly making a mistake or causing a problem. But the suggestions of 4 x 4 x 4 breathing or exercising really do help. When calmer, is that the time to run thru these other suggestions?

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rewiring the brain requires first learning tools to calm the stress response before you move to step 2, identifying new information and 3, integrating new informtion
