How to Reset Uconnect® 430/430N on a Dodge Grand Caravan 2014

- Detailed instructions according to MOPAR. This instruction is intended to only reset the radio / connectivity part and not the GPS or other stuff.
Step One: Please make sure the vehicle is currently on and running, please ensure that you hold the VR button and the Phone Button for 30 seconds
Step two: Shut the vehicle off and open the door for 30 seconds, once this is done close the door. You can remove the keys.
Step three: restart the vehicle wait another 30 seconds.
No warranty from my side ;-)
If it doesn't work - contact your local car dealer / service location.
BTW: As you can see - it didn't work for me because it asked me to connect with the service unit by USB to update the files, which I don't have .... :-((

This is the process I used on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan ...
To reset 430N Uconnect ...
Crank engine let run for 30 seconds next press the VR button and phone button simultaneously (at the same time) hold down for 30 seconds next turn off the engine and open drivers door for 30 seconds next close door and start engine let it run for 30 seconds next turn engine off for 30 seconds.
Next turn engine on, and radio on next press and release VR button listen for options to reset to factory settings.

It worked for me. One thing i did different was NOT START ENGINE, just went second click with key where the fan came on. Turned on ignition, did not start motor, held down the phone and VR button simutaneously for 30 seconds , then turned off car, took key out, opened door 30 seconds , shut door then turned key to second click again and it has been working fine for 15 minutes.
When I first held down buttons a recording said something about a restart, and a bucnch of other stuff, too much to remember, and I dont want to redo it to find out what they said so i dont mess it up.

The "second click" you are referring to is considered the RUN mode position, which starts the alternator and runs the electrical seqeunce, the first click is called the ACC or Accessory mode position for using the cars acceccories like the radio or using the sockets to charge your phone etc.
Suggestion: Never listen to the radio or use any accessories with the key fob in the (off)RUN position, it drains the battery more rapidly because it's powering up everything -power steering, power brakes, alternator etc, always try to use the socket in the console (Caravans) with the battery logo and not the socket with the key logo. Using the Key logo socket you need to have the key in the ignition whereas the battery socket runs directly off the battery and does not require the key. Refresh the battery every 20-30 minutes (depending on age of battery) by starting the engine and letting it run for a couple minutes. Otherwise you may end up with a dead battery and if you have an SXT with all the power options the Caravan will not start without jump starting from another car connected and reving for several minutes (battery booster packs seldom worked for my Caravans).

Take a shot every time he says “30 seconds” 😂. Trying this on my 2017 grand caravan later! I can’t get my phone to connect to it (I got it Wednesday) and it’s driving me nuts.
hahaha ... BTW ... finally I had to replace some electronic parts (on warranty), but the problem came back about 6 months later and then it was out of warranty and since then I'm without Bluetooth in my car :-(

Were you ever able to fix yours? Also, were your VR and Phone buttons still working? Mine don't do anything. Neither the steering wheel or on the radio.
Without working BT you can't use the VR and Phone as well ... and nope ... I never got mine back to work. I had to replace the BT adapter in a shop because the hardware was really broken. After repair it worked for another 6 months or so and then quit working again :-(((
I need help fixing the navigation it will not pull up when I hit navigate on a 2013carivan… this is a used vehicle but would like to be able to fix this feature and use it.
Oh - wow - I never had this. Did you try to reset the system like in the video?
If it asks you press AGREE and your presets are gone, chances are the soft reset was successful.

2018 Dodge Caravan. GS will not connect. Not only zero bars, but the bars are also shaded in grey. Worked fine until a few days ago. It's a rental. Now I know I'm sticking with Ford.
Yes, could be a hardware issue like it was in my car. They had to replace the Bluetooth transmitter on warranty and now after 4 years it broke a 2nd time. Not planning to replace again and having to pay.
Just got a 2011 and every time I hit the phone or the voice button it says Uconnect phone unavailable and I see nothing in the Bluetooth of my phone so I'm thinking it's not installed or do I need a satellite subscription in order to make it function at all cuz the directions are unclear so far
I have the 2014 and satellite sub is not required, but the BT receiver is trash and dying after short time even if you let it replace. Not worth it. Best option is to buy something like this: amzn.to/3aF5ifl. It's just $16

Do you need a small USB drive or thumb drive it Hass to be larger than four gigs
Download the You connect update software for your vehicle
Insert the drive into the USB slot in the glove box
Repeat the steps that you we’re doing do you get to the update software option
This will reprogram the stereo unit to factory specs if I can be of any further help please contact me

Same problem in my 2019 van. It’s the worst UI in any radio on the market and Chrysler knows it. It’s a radio that is about 15-20 years out of date. They had no intention on ever putting a quality functioning radio in these vans. Just look at the radios they have in all their other vehicles. Shame on them but what do we expect from a company that went belly up and had to sell to a foreign company.
Yeah ... as long as I had it, I have also been complaining all the time ... but now I have a new 2023 KIA sportage and lots of the radio and GPS functions are even worse ... It has a large touch screen .. but that's about it ... the rest they implemented in a really really bad way. Now I look back to the grand caravan and remember how good everything worked ... or at least most of it .... lol 🤣🤣🤣

OK - same year as mine. Maybe same problem? I had my car serviced but they didn't find the problem. They changed something in the software but it didn't work. I told them now to replace the Bluetooth hardware. Hope they will do it next week. Let's see then. Are you still covered under the warranty? I think you have the same conditions as I (3 yr/36,000 mi basic, 5 yr/100,000 mi powertrain). GL
Good day, now with my garmin radio I have to get a up date for it, and then update the maps. I down loaded it to a usb stick. Then added it to the 2014 T and C van. It says there's nothing there. Is there a video on updating the system, and them adding maps??? @d3dude

I bought a 2016 dodge caravan yesterday. When i push the navigation button it does nothing..it say uconnect unavailable. Anyone know why? Please help lol

There are different types of sound / gps devices. Do you have also the "How to Reset Uconnect® 430/430N" too or maybe a different type? But anyway ... I guess if you have a navigation button - it should work, otherwise there should be no button. Best is to check with your dealer. Good luck "Mom of Gremlins" (LOL).

I just bought a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan, got it home and the Sirius satellite radio wont shut off. No response from the touch screen buttons. Non responsive at all. 11pm at night I called my salesman and he told me to take negative connect off battery and come to dealership in the morning. lol ok. What’s the problem ?

i just purchased a dodge caravan 2010 and every time i click the bluetooth button it says “unconnect phone not available” but we just got it so we had no phone connected to it. there isn’t any options on the screen for bluetooth so i’m not sure what to do
